Rumor Mill - TNA Force Talent To Cancel Bookings With Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling

TNA management have barred any talent working for them from working for any promotion on broadcast television, which includes the traditional ones such as WWE and Ring of Honor, as well as Lucha Underground. However, they are also no longer allowing talent from working for Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling promotion even though it has no TV deal. The premise of this comes from Tyrus (formerly Brodus Clay in WWE) taking bookings with GFW this summer, who had to cancel the bookings and posted the following on Twitter:

Due to contractual obligations I will not be working for GFWs up coming shows #CardSubjectToChange sorry for any inconvenience #NuffSaid

This comes not because of GFW taping for television, but in Dave Meltzer's words, "because he'd be working for Jeff Jarrett". TNA officials reportedly threatened to fire him if he didn't cancel the bookings. Karen Jarrett, Jeff Jarrett's wife, tweeted out the following in response:

Video: WWE hosts the premiere of "Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery" in New York City

Scooby Doo to investigate mysteries at WWE WrestleMania

Always wondered what Scooby Doo would look like in a wrestling singlet? Craved to see John Cena fist drop a giant bear that is on fire? Well get yourself down to a DVD bargain bin where you will soon find a copy of ‘Scooby Doo: Wrestlemania Mystery’.

Scooby and Shaggy will forgo haunted houses and abandoned schools for one night only in order to solve a case at WWE’s flasgship event, aided by wrestlers like John Cena, Triple H, Kane and more.

The straight-to-DVD animated movie is a different direction for WWE Studios, who usually make films where up-and-coming superstars point guns at things and disappointingly don’t suplex any henchmen.

The trailer sees Scoob co-opt The Rock’s ‘Just bring it!’ catchphrase and even enter the squared circle himself for a tag-team match, the mystery oddly being not ‘what is the appeal of John Cena?’ but ‘why has a massive flaming bear been put in a cage match?’

Rumor Mill - Brodus Clay On The Outs?

Another member of the roster who could be in trouble is Brodus Clay. Clay's televised appearances have gotten more and more erratic over the past few months, and he has been far surpassed by his dancers, the Funadactyls, in terms of focus. More questions were raised this past Monday on Raw when recently called-up NXTer Xavier Woods used his entrance theme and the Funkadactyls on his way to the ring. Even if this isn't a sign of issues between WWE and Clay, this is not a good time to be stuck on the lower-midcard with WrestleMania season right around the corner.

Brodus Clay Talks Behind The Scenes With Funkasaurus, HHH's Warning About The Internet, Frustrations In Developmental More

Brodus Clay recently did an interview with CTWeekender.com in Connecticut.

The following are some highlights from the interview:

CTW: You started out your career in the WWE developmental system. How much time did you spend down there?

Brodus: Well it was two different stints of about a year and a half each. I took a brief hiatus in-between to go back to body guarding.

CTW: Was the hiatus because you didnt think this was the right path for you, or did you get discouraged from seeing other guys getting called up?

Brodus: It was a little bit of that, and i was getting a little bit frustrated, and they were getting a little bit frustrated with me. We just couldn’t seem to get anything going. Timing is everything, and i might have been a tab bit impatient looking back at it. But, it worked in the end. The time away was good for me and it was good for them, and when I cam back it was completely different, so Im kind of glad it happened.

CTW: So you fast forward a few months, and we have a highly anticipated re-debut of Brodus Clay. We saw these promos for months of a mean monster type guy coming. Then comes the time for the debut, and out comes “The Funkasaurus. Take us through from your point of view, how that came about , and what the reaction was.

Brodus: Ok so the weeks leading up, i swear i was about to lose my mind, what little hair i had on the top of my head i was pulling out. Literally every week I was getting ready to debut, ready to debut , but then week after week something would happen to delay it. I was turning into a laughing stock. I was getting text messages from home, saying what is going on. Finally the day comes and they show the sign with the disco ball and my name, and I get a text from my brother saying “Why is there a disco ball on your name?” So when I did come out it was dead silent, I could have said my name and it would have echoed through the building. There was a guy who was fired up and was dressed in my old ring gear, with his hair spiked up and a cut off shirt , and his mouth was so wide open, he was so upset. During the match he yelled at me “you suck Brodus Clay” and I yelled back “My Bad” and it kind of just went from there and I kept that as my catchphrase. It’s so hard to surprise people these days with the internet, but it shocked people.

CTW: I think even the announcers were surprised, everyone was expecting this monster Brodus CLay, one of the most aggressive guys in the business, and all of a sudden here is this guy rocking a fedorah and breakway pants. It caught us off guard for sure.

Brodus: I remember Triple H came up to me and said “whatever you do, do not look at the internet , it’s probably going to be bad.

The rest of the interview features him comically talking about how he and the girls come up with what colors they will wear each week, NXT season 4 and much more. Click here to read the full interview.

Interview with Brodus Clay

WWE wrestler Brodus Clay says he was in favor of changing his character to the "Funkasauras" after debuting as a typical smash-mouth-only big-man heel. "To be honest, that’s more of who I am," Clay said about his Funkasauras character in an interview with the Green Bay Press Gazette promoting next week's Smackdown TV taping in Green Bay. "I never was the silent angry type. I’ve always had a big mouth. I’ve always been loud. Some people would say obnoxious, other people say entertaining, charming, it just depends on who you’re around. This is just more of who I am. It’s hard to be angry all the time, I think."...More?

Brodus Clay Reveals That His WrestleMania Dance Segment Was Almost Cut At The Last Minute, But John Cena Made The Save

Brodus Clay was recently interviewed by Chad Dukes and discussed a number of topics, including the origins of the Funkasaurus, having his debut repeatedly delayed, and more.

In the following excerpt, Brodus discusses how his dance segment before The Rock vs. John Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII was almost cut from the show at the last minute:

“We were in what we call the gorilla — it’s right before you get ready to go out. I think it was the band or prep — something went way wrong. So, they were going to cut the dance. It was cut and we got told in gorilla. And now I’m committed to it and excited and ready to go. I look at the Funkadactyls and I’m like, ‘Guys, I think we just got cut.’

“Cena, he was getting his mind ready and he’s in the corner getting ready to come out because he comes out shortly after. He’s stretching and he said — it was one of the coolest things ever — he said, ‘If Brodus doesn’t go out, I’m not going out.’ And just walked away. They were just like, ‘Well, send him out.’ It was a really cool moment. Everyone talks about Cena, but they don’t know that that’s the type of person that he is. So, it was real cool. So, honestly, the reason that I actually went down was because of Cena. He had a lot to do with it.”

Belding Teen Granted Wish of Meeting WWE Stars

Thanks to the Kids Wish Network and other sponsors, a 15-year-old Belding resident was able to meet his favorite members of World Wrestling Entertainment.

Dylan Odland suffers from cystic fibrosis, which is a disease where the body produces a thick mucus that affects the lungs and digestive system by obstructing the pancreas and stopping digestive enzymes, and clogging the lungs which can lead to life-threatening lung infections. According to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, about 30,000 people in the United States suffer from the chronic disease.

Odland said he connected with the Kids Wish Network and with his personal wish coordinator, filled out some paperwork and explained how his greatest wish was to meet WWE’s Chief Operating Officer and former wrestler Triple H. Odland said the experience has fueled his desire to become a wrestler and inspired him to do his best in all areas of life. “That actually made me want to work harder,” he added.

Through the wrestlers present themselves as intimidating and aggressive characters, Odland said he is very pleased to see the WWE stars’ true colors shine through the fact they were willing to meet and spend time with him. “That’s just amazing,” he added. “They all have nice hearts.”...More?

Highlights From CM Punk's Interview with Peter Rosenberg at Hot97

On smart/internet fans: "More power to them but you can take any one of those people and give them the position of booker and they would lose their mind. They don't realize the intricate little things that go into putting stuff together.

"On top of that, we worry about ratings in this company which, to me, is madness at this point. Ratings don't mean anything expect to the sponsors. Which is why we do it because we want to keep sponsors happy. ... I just think everyone loves being negative. 'Ah! Punk came back too soon. They did this,' and it's like, 'Shut up and enjoy it.' Yeah. I know that sometimes it gets really, really bad. You can be vocal about that. But they don't let anything play out. They almost forget that there's going to be a Raw next week."

On his relationship with Triple H: "It's pretty good, I think. [Laughs.] I mean, you know, honestly, I guess I'll never really, truly know. We have a good, open relationship, I guess. We talk. He's very knowledgeable about the business and he's in a spot that he knows about a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff that fascinates me. I pick his brain about that stuff."

On Brodus Clay getting on TV only to be taken off shortly thereafter: "[Triple H] is in a position and now I'm in a position where I can ask him, 'OK. I don't understand why we put a guy like Brodus on TV and then he's off TV for two weeks. Explain that to me, Hunter.' Then he tells me, and I get it.

"We're not just catering to the people that are probably watching this. [Waves to the camera.] We're catering to a much wider audience."
