Longtime WWE Ring Announcer Leaving Company

Lilian Garcia announced Monday afternoon via social media that she is leaving WWE in order to care for her sick father. Garcia has worked on and off for the company since 1999. She wrote:

I've been getting a lot of tweets and messages asking where I have been and if I'm coming back to WWE, so I wanted to let you know what has been going on and why I have been silent. I've been through so many emotions lately that they literally have kept me up at night. As most of you know, my father has been battling with two different types of cancer. He hasn't been doing as well as we hoped, THEREFORE, I will not be traveling weekly with WWE any longer. I will be looking to take on work closer to where I live so that I don't have to be on the road weekly away from him. He truly needs me, and I need this time with him. I ask that you please continue prayers for my father and my family.

It has been a magical 15-year career at WWE, and WWE Universe, I can't thank you enough for all your love and support! I felt you every step of the way! I also want to thank the amazing WWE Superstars, whom many of them have become my friends! You are an incredible group of people with SO much talent! It has been such an honor to introduce you to the ring and watch your superior athleticism week after week. Thank you to the crew & production staff on the road and in the offices. I've seen you work so hard! You really are the glue that keeps it all together!

Lastly, thank you WWE for this incredible ride that I never wanted to get off. I've had experiences beyond my imagination. I thank you for not only allowing me to use my voice as an announcer but also sharing it to sing around the world. What an honor! I will cherish the memories forever.

This is not goodbye as I hope you all will follow me on social media to share in my next chapter. I thank you & I love you!!

Rumor Mill - Roberts's WWE Replacement Reportedly Named

PWInsider.com is reporting that Eden, the wife of current WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes/"Stardust," may be the replacement for recently released WWE ring announcer Justin Roberts on Raw, according to word coming out of WWE this week. The decision involving Eden was reportedly finalized sometime this week, but plans are always subject to change.

As of late, Eden has been taking part in "second-screen" backstage segments with Tom Phillips on the WWE App.

There had been speculation from fans that Lilian Garcia would be replacing Roberts; however, word is that she will remain on SmackDown and at WWE live events. Byron Saxton will fill in for Garcia at live events when she is not present.

The Very Latest on Justin Roberts’ WWE Release: Reportedly Seen Arguing with Cole, Ring Announce Changes Expected, Y2J Podcast

According to PWInsider.com, below are the latest updates on the WWE release of Justin Roberts:

Roberts was informed of his WWE release right after Raw last night, and he was told by WWE Exec Kevin Dunn. With Roberts gone, it is expected that Lilian Garcia will handle ring announcing for Raw and Eden might be brought in to do ring announcing for Smackdown.

There was talk amongst fans on social media last night that Roberts could be seen arguing with Michael Cole during the Randy Orton vs Dolph Ziggler match, and at one point Roberts “flipped Cole off.” Whether or not the incident was a catalyst for Roberts’ release is unknown.

Roberts will be the special guest on Chris Jericho’s “Talk is Jericho” podcast on Friday.

Ryback Update: Backstage Heat Persists, Officials “Fuming” Over Lilian Garcia Remark, More

Last night, Ryback's Twitter rant culminated in him Tweeting "was just released," and subsequently all Tweets on his account were deleted and his Twitter name was changed back to his real name, Ryan Reeves.

While it wasn't confirmed whether or not Ryback was indeed released or is just trolling the internet, a source within WWE informed Wrestlezone.com that the backstage heat Ryback has had with WWE management persists, and officials are reportedly upset with a variety of things where Ryback is concerned. However, when asked if Ryback was indeed released tonight, our source responded by saying "I don't think so."

Officials have never been a fan of how Ryback sells during matches, and they were none too thrilled with the concussion Dolph Ziggler sustained during his match against Ryback taped for Superstars this week.

Additionally, we were told that despite jokes being made on TV at Lilian Garcia's expense in the past, WWE officials were reportedly "fuming" over the comment Ryback made during his commentary on Raw this past Monday night. For those who missed it, Ryback said his voice was hoarse, as he's been hanging out with Lilian Garcia too much. The comment was in reference to an ongoing backstage joke in WWE that Lilian Garcia has a "horse face."

Mick Foley Comments On Triple H

In an interview with Main Event Radio, Mick Foley talks about a chapter in his book where he mentions that he heard that HHH is not his biggest fan. MEM states it seems contradictory to when he was benefiting so greatly from Mick put him over and asks if Foley thinks that HHH was being disingenuous when he was doing interviews in the past and said that Foley was one of his favorite opponents?:

"No I don’t think that is a conflict. And I don’t know for a fact that he wasn’t one of my biggest fans. That would mean more that he wasn’t one of my biggest fans in 2008. I heard he got a big promotion. He may be the future of WWE from a business standpoint. And from a business standpoint, you really can’t say that guy put me over in 2000 so we gotta keep him around. It’s really his job to say who’s valuable in the company at this present time. I had heard he hadn’t been a booster of mine but if you had asked him who his favorite all-time opponents were and my name was on it, I don’t think that is a contradiction."

Gee Mick, his new-found animosity might have something to do with the following statement you posted on your myspace blog in May:

About a week ago, I watched the Raw from New Jersey on DVR - the one where Triple H made the crack about Lilian Garcia showing up just to "horse around". And since that time, just keep asking myself "why"? Why does someone like Triple H, one of the most talented, well paid guys in the business, do something so shallow and mean? Why would a multi-millionaire, with millions of fans around the world, feel the need (several times over the years) to say something that is only meant to hurt? I don't get it. I don't get why it's done, I don't get why it's condoned, I don't get what possible satisfaction anyone involved gets from demeaning someone like Lilian Garcia. I just don't get it."

Maybe he doesn't get you either...

Lillian Garcia Has A New Bodyguard

Lilian Garcia recently responded to Mick Foley coming to her defense in a blog for what he considered rude behavior on the part of Triple H during a recent WWE event. Click here for the story.

Garcia wrote:

"Mick Foley, this tweet's for you!! I really appreciate your kind words and the compassion you showed in your blog. Your care for my feelings proves what a loving, caring and wonderful human being you are. This is why I truly miss working with you. You are one of a kind!! Thank you, love you!!"

This story has really gotten blown out of proportion. Since when is Mick Foley ultra-sensitive to ribbing? And Lilian is so distraught, she waits until May 12th to comment on an incident that happened on April 19th? The "joke" wasn't even that funny. Get over it.

Mick Foley Follows Up on Triple H Criticism

Mick Foley published a new blog on MySpace today acknowledging that he could have cost himself professionally down the road after calling out Triple H
earlier this week. Foley says he felt he needed to say something about Hunter's dig at Lilian Garcia during the April 19 Raw, though. (Read Foley's initial blog calling out Hunter.)

"You'll just have to believe me when I say that my feelings about the issue were strong enough for me to speak up - even knowing that doing so may cost me professionally down the line," Foley said.

Foley acknowledged feedback he's received this week since calling out Triple H for his "horsing around" comment directed toward Garcia. Foley said some people have called him a hypocrite, but he felt like he had to stand for certain principles in this situation.

Foley, who titled his blog "do nothing, say nothing, be nothing," explained further: "I could go into great detail about why some of the issues raised (it was innocent joking around on Triple H's part, I'm a hypocrite because I made fun of Al Snow, Test, etc., where was I during the Mickie James angle?) but I think it would be far more productive for readers to try to figure out the differences for themselves."

Mick Foley Believes Everything He Reads On The Internet

TNA star Mick Foley is calling out WWE superstar Triple H for his “shallow” and “mean” joke about Lilian Garcia’s appearance on RAW two weeks ago.

Garcia returned to WWE for one night to guest ring announce when the RAW crew was stranded in Europe. During the opening segment of the show, Triple H had a microphone and went over to her and said, “Even Lillian Garcia. If Lillian wants to come back here for night to the WWE just to horse around, she can do it.” After Triple H’s remarks, Jerry Lawler made a horse sound on commentary. Triple H’s “horsing around” comment reportedly a reference to a backstage joke about Lilian that her face resembles that of a horse.

Foley wrote on his MySpace.com blog that Triple H’s joke was the latest incident in a pattern of cruel on-air behavior from Vince McMahon’s son in law:

“Why does someone like Triple H, one of the most talented, well paid guys in the business, do something so shallow and mean? Why would a multi-millionaire, with millions of fans around the world, feel the need (several times over the years) to say something that is only meant to hurt? I don’t get it. I don’t get why it’s done, I don’t get why it’s condoned, I don’t get what possible satisfaction anyone involved gets from demeaning someone like Lillian Garcia. I just don’t get it.”

I think this story is complete bullsh*t. Since when does Mick Foley believe miscellaneous wrestling stories on the internet?
