Maryland's Own Pat Brink Re-Signs With WWE

This will be Brink’s second stint with WWE developmental and Florida Championship Wrestling. Brink, an Atholton High graduate who grew up in Laurel, MD, wrestled as Kaleb O’Neal in FCW in 2008 and 2009 before being released because of disciplinary issues.

Brink went through a difficult time when he was in FCW (he had to deal with the deaths of his younger sister, grandmother and several close friends) and I’m glad that he is getting another opportunity to make it on a national level.

“I couldn't be more humble, proud and thankful that the WWE is giving me a second chance,” Brink, 29, wrote on his Facebook page.

Interview with Kent Brink, MCW Champion

Kent Brink is defending his title as MCW Heavyweight Champion on Saturday. But he thinks he should have been at WrestleMania XXVI.

"Had I not made the mistakes I made in FCW, I have no doubt I would have wrestled at WrestleMania this past Sunday," Brink said.

FCW is the developmental wing of WWE, and Maryland native Brink worked there for nine months before being let go in March 2009. But Brink's ring skills were not the reason he was cut from FCW, and at 6-feet, 6-inches and 260 pounds of muscle he looks like the prototype for a big-bodied WWE superstar...More?

Laurel, MD Wrestler Seeks Return to WWE Ring

People in Laurel have trouble recognizing Patrick Brink, the short, skinny kid who attended Oaklands Elementary and Eisenhower Middle School in the 1990s.

That's because Brink, now 28, is a 6-foot-6-inch professional wrestler who weighs in at 260 pounds.

Brink recently spent eight months in his dream job working for World Wrestling Entertainment as "Kaleb O'Neal" but was released in March after a series of setbacks, including the deaths of family members and friends...More?

Q&A with Patrick Brink

Kevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun conducted an interview recently with Maryland Championship Wrestling star and former WWE developmental talent Patrick Brink.

Brink, an Atholton graduate who grew up in Laurel, made a surprise run-in at last month’s MCW show four months after being released from his WWE deal. Brink, 28, made his return to the ring against Cobian (wth Van Hammer as special guest referee) at a MCW event at The New Green Room in Dundalk.

In the following interview, Brink, who wrestled as Kaleb O’Neal during his six-month stay in WWE’s Florida Championship Wrestling territory, discusses WWE’s developmental program, the circumstances that led to his release, his return to MCW and what the future holds for him. Click here.

Another WWE Release

Laurel, MD's own Kaleb O'Neal (Patrick Brink) was released from WWE developmental.

According to The Sun, in December he got heat because he added some tattoos on his forearms which when under WWE contract you need their permission to do. He was fined $1,000 and suspended for one week. Because he was only making $500 per week, after the fine he started struggling financially. He told the office about his money problems and was given a pay rise to $750. This past week he was late to an appointment for physical therapy that WWE was also paying for and when word got back to the office they basically told him his recent behaviour was unacceptable and they were letting him go.

Patrick explains why he was let go.
