Update on Ted Dibiase's Injury

Word is that Ted DiBiase suffered an arm injury this weekend. Cody Rhodes cut promos on DiBiase last weekend and said he had a broken hand but that may just be a storyline explanation.

DiBiase appeared at Sunday’s WWE Supershow in Las Cruces, New Mexico but did not wrestle. DiBiase came out to wrestle Wade Barrett but introduced the returning Randy Orton as Barrett’s opponent.

One of the creative ideas that has been discussed is to form a new heel faction on Raw consisting of Ted DiBiase Jr., his brother Brett DiBiase and Joe Hennig, the son of the late WWE hall of famer "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, dubbed the Fortunate Sons, according to Dave Meltzer. Brett DiBiase and Joe Hennig are currently training with Flordia Championship Wrestling in Tampa, FL.

Ted DiBiase on the ‘80s Wrestling Boom: “Back then it was a Rock-n-Roll Atmosphere”

Ted DiBiase said the WWE environment has improved drastically over the years. “Today, the business has changed, it’s much more corporate,” he said. “When you go back to the hotel, there is nobody. I don’t know if it’s a well-kept secret, or what. The WWE has changed so much now. They work four days a week, then they go home to their families.” Today, his son Ted Dibiase Jr., 27, is following in his father’s footsteps.

“The years I was in the WWE there were a number of guys who died from drug and alcohol abuse. So for years I preached to my boys that I’d support them in anything they’d want to do — but don’t even consider wrestling.”

So what has changed? Vince McMahon, owner of the WWE, has implemented strict random drug tests for all wrestlers.

“What that has built into the WWE is accountability. They have a three-strike rule,” DiBiase said. “The first time you test positive for anything it’s a 30-day suspension without pay. The second time it’s a 60-day suspension, (and) the third time you’re fired. Nobody is above the law, nobody.”...More?

Ted Dibiase on Vince McMahon's "Acting Class"

According to DiBiase, WWE now has its own acting class for up-and-coming wrestlers. The class is meant to make the wrestlers more comfortable on the microphone and help them with those entertaining backstage promos wrestling is well known for.

Who is teaching these classes?

“Vince McMahon, himself,” DiBiase said . “For the CEO of a company to take an hour of his day and spend it with up-and-coming guys is really cool. You get to know him on a more personal level.”

Big Show Warns Young Stars: "They Have to Earn It"

There was much criticism through 2009 that the WWE's headliners were the same old faces such as Show, his tag team partner Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Undertaker, John Cena and Randy Orton.

Things have changed recently with newer stars like Scot Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston getting a push and Irish wrestler Sheamus even winning the company's world title from Cena.

But nobody has yet challenged 37-year-old Show's spot as the company's top big man — and he says it will stay that way until someone "steps up" to earn it:

"I want to let you know flat out there's not anybody good enough to take my position. And I'm certainly not going to give my position up just because I've been on top for a while, and nor would anyone else. If there's another giant that can walk in and take my position, then good for him. He can run with it and I'll retire. Until then I'm going to work on top as long as I can, make as much money as I can and entertain the fans as much as I can. It's up to the younger generation to come to the locker room, step up and be leaders. Every one of us who is on top right now has had to fight and dig and bend to the penthouse and bend to the outhouse as far as booking and positioning goes. I'm not just going to lay down because somebody new comes in — they're going to have to earn it."

Big Show refuses to blame Vince McMahon for failing to push the newer talent and instead says it's all about not enough guys having the right work ethic...More?

Ted DiBiase Comments on the Power Couple

Ted DiBiase was asked about the future of WWE if Vince McMahon were to ever step down after Shane McMahon left. (DiBiase didn't address Shane's departure).

"Triple H is married to Stephanie. It's just like any marriage. You know who runs the show, it's Stephanie," DiBiase said with a chuckle. "But, Hunter's great, man. If Vince were to ever decide to step down, those two are like a power team."
