The Figure Four Weekly Newsletter has confirmed, and wrestlezone.com reported several weeks ago, that TNA recently conducted another round of drug testing. Bret Hart Signs a Talent Deal With WWE

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Bret Hart has signed a short-term talent contract with WWE that will go into effect on January 1st, 2010, and expire a couple weeks after WrestleMania 26. This makes it very possible that he will be guest hosting the January 4th edition of WWE Raw when it goes head-to-head with TNA Impact. Additionally, Bret could feasibly make further appearances for WWE if his contract is in fact as long as the report indicates.

Triple H & Shawn Michaels at The Slammys

Triple H showed once again why he is a class act with this compliment to his buddy Shawn Michaels after HBK and The Undertaker won the Match of the Year Award at the Slammys:

"I just want to say one thing, if you haven't seen this match - you need to see it. You need to go out and get the WrestleMania XXV DVD and watch it, because it was a classic. And I can vouch for how good it was because I had to follow it and I didn't stand a chance."

New Champs - So What's the Problem?

Two new champions - Sheamus and Drew McIntyre - and the IWC is still complaining. for months, they have been begging the WWE to put titles on someone other than John Cena, Triple H, or Randy Orton. They have been pleading for matches that involved someone other than their "top" stars. The question was asked, "When is the WWE going to create new stars?"..."When are they going to elevate someone other than Cena, Hunter or Orton?"

Well, you got it last night. So, what's the problem?

The problem is that because Sheamus works out with Triple H and Drew McIntyre is rumored to be a Shawn Michaels/Triple H favorite - apparently neither one of them is worthy of the push. While I'm not sold yet on McIntyre I think Sheamus has star written all over him. If you don't give them a chance, how are we to know?

I have read on other sites that the IWC is questioning the lack of push for perennial favorite Shelton Benjamin. Last month, Jim Ross posted the following on his blog. Maybe Shelton falls into this category:

"At a certain point once a guy gets his foot in the door and he starts getting some time on TV, then they really have more ownership than the general public understands. The more-educated fans would rather blame creative. Sometimes they just don’t know what else went on and they don’t know a guy’s attitude and they don’t know who phoned something in or who thinks, “Hey, I don’t really even want to get any higher than this.” You have to understand that some guys get on a semi-main event level, and they don’t know that they can handle the pressure of carrying the show. That’s not for everybody. It takes a very unique individual to be a star, and a main event star. The business is so good now financially that guys who are not main-eventers can still earn a great living and prepare for life after wrestling."

It's just a thought. We will never know, but they wanted new champs and they got new champs. It's time to see what they can do.

Sheamus Sits at the Top Table

You wait years for a Brit or Irishman to win a championship in the WWE — and then two come along at once.

Sheamus made history at last night's Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view by becoming the first ever person from the UK or Ireland to win the company's world title. He did something that not even Davey Boy Smith, Fit Finlay or William Regal could achieve.

And the TLC initials of the event had a double meaning, also standing for Three Lost Championships, as Scot Drew McIntyre won the intercontinental strap and Triple H and Shawn Michaels picked up the unified tag belts...More?

Lance Storm Commentary - Booking Hulk Hogan

Let’s be honest, the Hulk Hogan character with his “What you gonna do…” and “Let me tell you something Brother” is 25 years old. It was the hottest act in town for a long, long time, and resulted in the first big boom in wrestling history. After his near decade long run, as the Hulkster, it had run its course, and was losing popularity. Hogan then made another huge impact in the business when he reinvented himself by turning heel and forming the NWO in WCW. This led into the Monday Night Wars and another monster boom in the wrestling business.

After the NWO and Hogan’s heel run, ran its course and WCW lost the Monday Night War to Vince McMahon, Hogan made one more major comeback run in WWE. This was when I got to work with the Hulkster and it was a lot of fun and the guy was still crazy over. I think this return was a success because fans viewed it as a bit of a reunion tour. It was the Hulkster back in the WWE where he belonged, back in the Red and Yellow, and a chance for everyone to see the Baby Face Hogan we all knew and loved one more time.

So fast forward now to January 2010, Hulk Hogan is in his later 50 and trying to make another impact. What can you possibly do with Hulk Hogan in 2010 that will seem fresh and exciting especially when you consider the fact that he can’t physically wrestle much anymore. That’s when I got the idea of Hulk Hogan reinventing himself, one more time, by dropping the Hulk Hogan shtick and presenting himself as real person...More?

Awesome Kong on Top of Her Game

If it wasn't for an annoying little brother, the world of pro wrestling might be without one of its brightest, most dynamic personalities today. “He used to watch wrestling every Saturday morning,” Kia Stevens, better known as TNA ( Total Nonstop Action ) star Awesome Kong, says about her younger brother. “And whenever I’d pass by, he’d attack me and get me into a Camel Clutch. And that’s how I’d stay until one of my parents came into the room.”

Stevens’ brother’s obnoxious behavior, occurring in the middle-class Los Angeles suburb of Carson, Calif., rubbed off onto eight-year-old Kia.

“I eventually started watching wrestling myself, and learning some of the moves,” she says. “Before long, I was able to get him into a Boston Crab.”

And a star was born...More?
