Elite XC taking cues from the WWE

It seems that the MMA community is up in arms about the network debut of Elite XC last night. I watched the show, mainly to see the women fighters (Gina Carano & Kaitlin Young) and I liked that the promoters added a bit of showmanship. There were rappers (Busta Rymes), cheerleaders, pyro, entrance music and the fighters entered the arena from an entrance ramp (sound familiar). I am a fan of MMA and I don't understand the negative spin some of the fans have put on the show. What's wrong with a little glitter? If you are just going to copy the UFC, you will be out of business. Being a bit different gives Elite XC a fighting chance.

I liked the women's match, although I'm pissed that Gina Carano didn't make weight. She should be fined for that. I wasn't impressed with the Kimbo Slice bout. I don't think he lived up to the hype - he needs a lot more MMA & cardio training.
