Stephanie McMahon Comments on RAW's 1,000 Episode Celebration
Stephanie McMahon knows the St. Louis region and wrestling are wrapped together like body slams and pinfalls.
“Well St. Louis has a tremendous history with the wrestling industry in general. And what better place to celebrate our 1,000TH episode in one of the cities that made our brand so strong.” said Stephanie McMahon Executive VP Creative, WWE.
You heard her correctly; The WWE’S Monday night mainstay, ‘RAW’ is celebrating it’s 1000th episode.
“It Beats the Simpsons, believe it or not Lassie and Gunsmoke were the last record holders and we beat the pants off them.” said Stephanie McMahon.
Her father, Vince McMahon evolved the wrestling business into an entertainment brand, buying up regional territories around the country.
“My Dad is my idol and mentor. He’s taught me everything that I know basically. He has many, many, mantras and some are not repeatable. But, the bottom line is you have to work hard, play hard. Live hard and love hard. As long as you do all those things you’ll be successful.” said Stephanie McMahon.
Whether it was the great Stan Lee, FDR or Voltaire, one of them coined the phrase, ‘With great power comes great responsibility.’ The WWE believes in that. The company performs for combat troops overseas. They’ve initiated an anti-bullying campaign. For the past 30 years, the company has granted more than 3500 wishes with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“We’re in 145 countries, 30 different languages, 100 million social media followers. It’s our duty to use that powerful voice, that reach to spread really powerful messages.” said Stephanie McMahon.
