SmackDown Results: Throwing Out the Rules
Kane revealed that The Undertaker is finally showing signs of recovery by talking for the first time in two months. In a bedside discussion, Kane said his brother told him it was Rey Mysterio who attacked him.
After the stunning news, The Big Red Monster recalled how Rey Mysterio won a SmackDown Battle Royal and qualified for the World Title Match at the Fatal 4-Way pay-per-view. Kane claimed it all made sense that it was Rey who wanted Undertaker out of the way, so that he could win the Battle Royal and advance to Fatal 4-Way.
Full of rage, Kane said Mysterio will cease to exist after he beats him at SummerSlam and stuffs him in a casket. Full results.

Gabe Sapolsky: "I Love Watching Bryan Danielson EVOLVE!"
"Most MMA fans will laugh off pro wrestling. Sports Entertainers just aren't "real" in their minds. This past weekend, 250 fans jam packed The ACE Arena in Union City, NJ to witness Bryan Danielson vs. Bobby Fish for EVOLVE. That told me people are looking for realism in pro wrestling. In fact, after booking thousands of matches over the years, I almost ran to ringside and threw in the towel on this main event. No hype. No hustle. That's a true statement."...More?

OP-ED by Linda McMahon: An Outsider’s Perspective
The recent double-barreled attacks on my U.S. Senate candidacy by Chris Powell and Keith Burris in this newspaper demonstrated a stunning lack of understanding of who I am, what I stand for, and why I’m running. Fortunately, the voters I talk to every day have a much better understanding, and in the end it will be the opinions of the people — not the pundits — that matter...More?

WWE Superstars Results: VIP Treatment
They say all good things must come to an end. Chavo Guerrero learned this tonight as his two-week winning streak was stopped by the explosive MVP. Taking a break from hanging out with Lebron James in his hometown of Miami, The Ballin’ Superstar brought the fight to Chavo, battering him with stiff shots and countering Guerrero’s impressive arsenal of submission maneuvers. Putting an exclamation point on his awesome performance with a devastating Play of the Day, MVP beat Chavo and headed right back to the VIP area. Full results.

Triple H is Thor, Or Should Be
Playing 'The Mighty Thor' in the new movie is Chris Hemsworth. If he looks familiar you may have seen him in the first five minutes of the last Star Trek movie. Or perhaps you're an Australian with a soap opera addiction, regardless of how you know who Chris is you probably never looked at him and thought; 'Whoa that guy looks just like Thor!'
Because he doesn't, Chris is a former daytime actor who looks like a Calvin Klein underwear model. Nothing about the dude makes me wonder if he carries a Mjolnir or smites his foes with lightning. Even after seeing him in his Thor getup I am less than convinced. Small hands, skinny forearms and airbrushed biceps do not a Norse god make.
Triple H deserves to play Thor and the producers would have saved money by hiring him because he can do his own stunts. Say what you want about the WWE but professional Wrestlers are highly trained stuntmen who are good at taking physical punishment and selling fake blows.
For the naysayers who say Triple H can't act I say so what? Thor isn't exactly spitting out poems in Old Swedish every other page. In fact most of what Thor does say is pretty direct in the comics, mostly consisting of single words and exclamation points...More?

A Best-in-Class Entertainment Stock: WWE, Still King of the Ring
When it comes to live entertainment, there is only one rock solid company that continues to pay an eye-bulging 8.8% annual dividend to its loyal fans and shareholders. What is that company, you ask? Not Live Nation (LYV) and not Warner Music Group (WMG). It's none other than World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
This year, first quarter revenue leaped off the ropes 28.7% and net income clothes-lined the analyst estimates with a 140% rise in net income. On behalf of myself, the Wrestlers’ Rescue organization, and the many volunteers and donors, I'd like to strenuously deny and condemn the false and baseless defamatory statements currently circulating concerning an alleged investigation and corruption in Wrestlers' Rescue. Mark Madden Comments on TNA's ECW Re-Do
Mark Madden expresses his disdain for TNA's attempt at re-creating ECW. Hold on tight:
"The end of TNA Impact was, indeed, groundbreaking. The end of TNA Impact was stupid on so many levels it almost defies description. The end of TNA Impact cemented Dixie Carter’s legacy as one of the very dumbest people to ever be involved with wrestling. Dixie Carter went into the ring and, surrounded by one mid-level star and four scrubs, devalued her own company’s brand name for the sake of a promotion that has, for all intents and purposes, been dead since 2001 – a promotion that Vince McMahon OWNS THE NAME TO AND TRADEMARKS OF."
"The vast majority of wrestling fans don’t identify Mick Foley with ECW. But Mick will attach himself to any cause that pays. Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Rhino, Stevie Richards…none ever meant anything in a big-time promotion, and it wasn’t for lack of opportunity. Dreamer’s tears aside, when ex-ECW guys lost their jobs in WWE, it was because they couldn’t cut the mustard. Those bums should be grateful they got the paychecks they did."
"I’m having fun right now as I think of Dixie Carter smiling broadly during “Hard Justice” as TNA fans chant a brand name owned by Vince McMahon."

Corleone Character a Big Hit for Jindrak in Mexico
Marco Corleone, formerly WWE's Mark Jindrak, is one of the central characters on ``Lucha Libre USA: Masked Warriors,'' a new pro wrestling show seen 10 p.m. EST/PST Fridays on MTV2.
After being released by WWE in 2005, Jindrak contemplated a different career path. Going to Mexico changed his mind-set, and after starting as a rudo (bad guy), he became a big star as a technico (good guy).
``I started off as a rudo in Mexico,'' Corleone said, ``but because of my physical appearance [6-6, 260] and my style of wrestling, the Mexican fans fell in love with me. You have to listen to the people. If they want you to be a rudo, then you're a rudo. If they want you to be a technico, you're a technico. I'm a technico. People like me.''
``Sometimes when I go back to the United States, I almost feel like a foreigner,'' he said. ``I'm here in Mexico, and I enjoy it. In all shapes and sizes and forms, I'm an ally of Mexico. I love the Mexican culture...More?

A Look Back At The Brawl To End It All
The Brawl To End It All - a battle between WWF Women's champion The Fabulous Moolah and Wendi Richter. The event, broadcast live on MTV, marked the beginning of the Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection that would catapult Hulk Hogan into an uncharted stratosphere of fame for a professional wrestler. The woman at the center of the hoopla, the event's most important participant, wasn't even participating in the match. Pop star Cyndi Lauper, a newcomer on the road to winning the next year's Grammy for Best new Artist, was in the corner of the challenger, cheering her on to defeat a champion who had held onto her belt for nearly 30 years.
With Lauper managing Richter and Albano managing the legendary Moolah, the match was high on spectacle but low on real wrestling, especially by today's standards. After pushing Richter into the corner face first, Moolah planted Richter's shoulders to the mat with a reverse sunset flip. Unbeknownst to Moolah, whose shoulders were pinned to the mat, Richter lifted her right shoulder up before the three count. Only when the ring announcer proclaimed that Richter had won the match did people realize that history had been made...More?

The Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage Action Figures at SD Comic Con
Today at the San Diego Comic Con, Mattel announced that both the Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage had been signed by the company to be part of their WWE Action Figures line.
The announcement that Savage would be part of the line got a huge ovation at the event. Of course, the "cold war" (other than last year's DVD release) between Savage and the WWE has gone on for years (for whatever reason), and this would be the first Savage action figure since the early 90's when WWE was working with Hasbro.
Given the demand over the years for Randy Savage action figures, this is a huge score for Mattel and shows how seriously they are taking the WWE line.

Raw Results: Nexus or Against Us?
In the glow of victory over Mark Henry, Barrett was joined by his Nexus cronies, who awaited a meeting with John Cena. Earlier in the evening, a flustered Cena hinted that he may be open to joining the group that had cost him everything. And while Nexus initially hinted that they may be open to a truce, Barrett insisted on more. He told Cena that, in order to further his career at WWE, he must join The Nexus. Cena refused, though, and informed Nexus that they should enjoy the next three weeks because at SummerSlam, The Nexus isn’t going to make history, “The Nexus is history!”
Cena's disposition changed when he announced the formation of his own group, including Edge, John Morrison, R-Truth, The Great Khali, Chris Jericho and WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, who hadn’t been seen since The Nexus had attacked him! Rumor Mill - Name for TNA's ECW Faction
TNA's new ECW faction is reportedly called "The Riot Makers".
No Word On Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight
Boxing could be enjoying a major B-12 shot right now. Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. could be hyping the second in a highly lucrative series of fights. They could be setting up other contenders for when that well runs dry. Someone could be trying to make sense of the dropped dinner plate that is the heavyweight division.
Instead, Pacquiao is mulling offers for rematches that mean nothing while Mayweather is riding his Segway around a mansion paid for by fans who had some foolish expectation he was a competitor. And their sport is sinking into the ground.
Of the trifecta of pay-per-view attractions in this country -- the UFC, the WWE and boxing -- only the UFC and WWE have anything approaching a steady business. When boxing offers an event that features neither Mayweather nor Pacquiao, it sinks like a stone. And even with those two, 2009's Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto and Mayweather-Juan Manuel Marquez bouts failed to exceed the buy rates for UFC 100. The boxer who devours most of the media's attention, Mike Tyson, hasn't fought in five years and will never fight again...More?

Rumor Mill - WWE To Turn Top Superstar Heel & Put Them With Nexus?
WWE is toying with the idea of turning a top Superstar heel and have them be the person behind The Nexus angle. The main people being pitched for a heel turn are Triple H and believe it or not, John Cena.
Cena turning heel would be a risk because of his popularity with kids and everything else, including merchandise. Triple H has wanted to turn heel for a few years now but with injuries to him and his co-workers, they haven't had the right time to turn him.
