Alberto El Patron Says He's Apologized to Triple H And Blames Paige For His Rants

Alberto Del Rio was recently interviewed by Medio Tiempo. He spoke about how he's said sorry to Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and WWE.

His past rants ripping Triple H on social media:

"As you know, I am a man who knows when he was wrong. In fact I was in contact with them. Like WWE, when they admitted their mistake the first time I left, I also admit my mistake.

"I personally apologized to Triple H for the issues we had when I was in a bad relationship with my ex-partner. She and her entire family made me believe that they affected our relationship. She made me believe that the videos [Paige and Maddox] and all that was happening outside to her was perpetrated by Triple H and the company. At the time I believed her, because she was my partner. I defended her by heart and sword, then things were different. Later I realized how wrong I was to place my trust in that person. I deeply regret my words and apologized to Triple H, his wife and WWE. They understood me."

Update On Paige Facing Battery Charges In Domestic Violence Case

Paige will not be charged in her domestic dispute with Alberto El Patron at the Orlando International Airport on July 9th, according to a new report from TMZ.

Paige was potentially facing charges from the dispute, where she admittedly threw a drink at Alberto. The Orlando Police Department recommended that Paige be charged for the incident, which could have resulted in her termination from WWE. However, the state attorney's office decided not to press charges and the case is now closed.

Alberto El Patron Stripped Of GFW World Heavyweight Championship

Alberto El Patron has been stripped of the GFW World Heavyweight Championship, the company announced in a statement on Monday. You can read the statement below:

GFW has concluded its internal consideration of the events surrounding the suspension of Alberto El Patron. While it is apparent that initial reports unfairly characterized El Patron's involvement in the incident in the Orlando airport, we are nonetheless disappointed with the manner in which he dealt with this situation; we expect more decorum from all on the GFW roster, especially the World Champion.
We have communicated with El Patron our decision to strip him of his championship title. No decision has been taken as to the date on which he will be reinstated to the roster, the conditions of which are a private matter between the company and El Patron.

Police confirmed that El Patron was detained following a domestic incident at the Orlando International Airport on July 9, 2017. He was not arrested and no charges were filed at the time.

Paige & Alberto Del Rio Talk Recent Airport Incident, Paige's Family Abuse Claims, Wrestling Returns

WWE Superstar Paige and Unified Global Force Wrestling (GFW) World Heavyweight Champion Alberto El Patron (a.k.a. Alberto El Patron) recently joined Bully Ray and Dave Lagreca on Busted Open Radio to talk about the recent airport incident that took the media by storm. Below are the highlights:

* Paige started things off by claiming that she and Alberto are able to laugh about the incident now, despite the 'nightmare' the media made it out to be initially. Paige said she and Alberto shouldn't be ashamed of having an argument in public the way normal couples do, and people need to relax. Del Rio said they refuse to be like celebrities, they just want to live their lives normally. He then said that people see this every day, couples argue, and the media just spread a bunch of lies and stories that aren't real. Del Rio said he and Paige have strong personalities but they leave everything to talk, they love each other and are very passionate.

Alberto El Patron No Longer A Suspect In Paige Incident

Alberto El Patron is no longer a suspect in his domestic dispute with Paige at the Orlando airport on July 9th, a representative for the Orlando Police Department told Pro Wrestling Sheet. As noted, detectives have reportedly found probable cause to charge Paige with domestic battery over the incident.

GFW announced last week that they had suspended Alberto until the investigation was resolved. There has been no official statement regarding Alberto's status, although he was never stripped of the GFW Global Championship.

Paige Possibly Facing Battery Charges And WWE Suspension Following Incident With Alberto El Patron

Paige is potentially facing charges from the domestic violence incident with GFW World Heavyweight Champion Alberto El Patron at the Orlando International Airport back on July 9th, according to new reports by Pro Wrestling Sheet and F4Wonline.com. Orlando Police detectives have reportedly found probable cause to charge the former WWE Divas Champion with domestic battery. The evidence has been forwarded to the state attorney's office for review and they will decide if charges need to be brought against Paige.

It was also noted that the investigation into Patron is still ongoing by Orlando police. Alberto was suspended by GFW until the investigation is complete but he is not being edited out of any Impact broadcasts during the suspension and apparently will not be stripped of the title.

After originally claiming that she and Alberto were the ones that got police involved, Paige then released a statement that said she was the one being held for potential battery charges after TMZ released audio of the argument between she and Alberto that told the true story on what happened that day.

Paige could be looking at another WWE suspension over the charges as the company has a zero-tolerance policy regarding domestic violence but she must be arrested before a suspension is brought. A conviction would bring termination. WWE's policy on domestic violence reads like this:

WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault. Upon arrest for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately suspended. Upon conviction for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately terminated.
WWE's ability to fine, suspend or terminate a WWE talent will not be, however, limited or compromised in any manner in the event incontrovertible evidence of such illegal misconduct is presented to WWE. Section 9.13(a) of the WWE booking contract, commonly known as the "morals clause", provides WWE with broad discretion and authority to act under such circumstances.

GFW Issues Statement On Alberto El Patron Domestic Battery

Alberto El Patron is under investigation for a domestic violence battery incident which is alleged to have taken place Orlando International Airport on Sunday.

In an update, GFW has announced in a statement they will be conducting their own internal investigation of El Patron‘s alleged domestic violence incident. Their brief statement reads as follows:

“Global Force Wrestling takes all legal situations very seriously and is looking into this matter. GFW is a privately-held company and will thoroughly investigate this incident and fully cooperate with law enforcement.”

Alberto El Patron Being Investigated For Domestic Battery

Unified GFW World Champion Alberto El Patron is being investigated for an alleged domestic violence incident at a Florida airport, according to TMZ Sports.

The former WWE Superstar who recently joined Impact Wrestling allegedly "roughed up" a female companion following an argument which escalated in the terminal building. Police were called and a witness at the scene confirmed: "There was an altercation."

At this stage, there is no confirmation from Police that the female was WWE Superstar Paige, who Del Rio is in a relationship with, but people said she was at the airport with Alberto that day.

Law enforcement has noted that Alberto has not be arrested or changed as yet, but investigators are in the process of gathering information about the incident.

Alberto Del Rio Comments on Paige's Second Wellness Suspension

Alberto Del Rio, who said on Monday he has adopted the name Alberto "El Presidente" Rodriguez, told ESPN.com that he believes Paige has been treated unfairly by WWE.

"It's just like she said in her statement this afternoon," Rodriguez said. "It's just the same s---, different day my friend."

Rodriguez also brushed off online chatter that WWE was trying to break the couple apart.

"To be honest, I don't care what they say or what they try to do," Rodriguez said. "We are together and we are happy. I know a lot of people are not happy but regardless of whatever people say, we can be happy. We can be together. And we are going to stay together because we are happy.

"If someone is not comfortable or happy about it, we just don't care. We are going to continue our life. Our families are happy and we're happy. That's all that matters."

Alberto Del Rio Now Alleging He and Paige Were Attacked by a “Drunken Homeless Man”, Latest News on What San Antonio Police Are Reporting

In the continuing story of Alberto Del Rio allegedly being stabbed in San Antonio, the latest twist to the story involves Del Rio’s real life girlfriend and WWE Superstar Paige. Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer also claims to have had a story involving her in the incident relayed to him. The report notes that Del Rio and the man went to the ground while the man was still stabbing at Del Rio. At that point Paige got involved in the altercation and was thrown by the suspect. Del Rio then went to check on her and that’s when the knife wielding attacker took off in his car.

The Record in Mexico spoke with Del Rio following the incident, and Del Rio claims he and Paige were actually attacked by a “drunken homeless man” in the parking lot of a restaurant. While the rest of the story is in line with other reports, the couple claims the man left on foot when Del Rio went to check on Paige after she was assaulted.

As we reported yesterday, Pro Wrestling Sheet editor Ryan Satin says he had spoken with San Antonio police since the alleged assault took place, and was told “they had no stabbing incidents” in the area “all weekend”. PWInsider is reporting that the San Antonio Police Department has just one stabbing in their jurisdiction on October 2nd and Del Rio is not listed as the victim. It should be noted there are several smaller municipalities within the city that are not in their jurisdiction, plus the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Alberto Del Rio Finished With WWE, Details On When He Gave Notice

Alberto Del Rio is finished with WWE. According to sources close to the situation, Del Rio informed WWE through his lawyer that he was opting out 60 days ago.

Del Rio was apparently frustrated with the empty promises he was given after being recruited to the company last summer. Del Rio had been promised a main event push, but instead was quickly put into a Mex-America angle that went nowhere, followed by being bundled as part of the mid card heel faction, the League of Nations.

As noted, WWE announced on August 17th that Del Rio and his real-life girlfriend, Saraya-Jade Bevis, a.k.a. Paige, were both suspended for 30 days for their first violations of the company's Wellness Policy. The timing is interesting given that Del Rio had given his notice several weeks earlier, in late June.

Del Rio last wrestled for the company on the August 19th episode of SmackDown, where he faced John Cena. He is not expected to return to the company at all, and is free at the end of September to work anywhere in the United States. He will be able to work in Mexico and abroad imminently.

The Very Latest on the Paige – Money in the Bank Incident, Rumor Killer on Argument Between Paige and Alberto Del Rio

On the latest episode of MLW Radio hosted by Court Bauer, Mister Saint Laurent and Konnan, more light was shed on the recent Paige incident at WWE Money in the Bank, as Konnan is close friends with Alberto Del Rio.

According to the show hosts, after Money in the Bank this past Sunday night, Paige and Alberto Del Rio went to watch the Absinthe show in Las Vegas. While they were there, a drunk couple started heckling the real life couple and called them “fake wrestlers”, and an argument ensued which reportedly ended up with Paige being “accosted”.
Police were eventually called to the scene and they stabilized the situation, and that involved handcuffing everyone involved in the situation despite neither Paige nor Del Rio being arrested. After that, Paige was taken to an ambulance to make sure she was okay, and when it was determined she was, both her and Del Rio were released and were free to go.

Update On Paige Being Involved In Las Vegas Incident On Sunday Night, Her WWE Status, More

As noted, there has been speculation that Paige was arrested in Las Vegas on Sunday night after the WWE Money In the Bank pay-per-view due to an incident with boyfriend Alberto Del Rio. Leaked photos, seen below, appear to show a handcuffed Paige being led into an ambulance.

We later reported that no charges were filed and that Paige was not admitted into a local hospital as she wrestled on last night's RAW. We also reported that WWE was investigating the incident.

In an update, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department has confirmed that there was an unrelated incident late Sunday where they received a call about a woman behaving erratically. A woman was reportedly running trhough traffic and when they responded to the call, she was detained and taken to a local hospital by ambulance for a medical evaluation. The woman was soon released after the evaluation.

Vegas Police would not confirm that Paige was the woman taken to a local hospital due to privacy laws but they did confirm to PWInsider that the leaked photos are from that incident.

There is also no truth to reports of Del Rio being in any kind of trouble.

Paige is backstage for tonight's WWE SmackDown tapings in Tucson.

Freddie Prinze On Working WWE Creative With Vince McMahon, Booking Jeff Hardy, Nixed Plans, More

A recent episode of Chris Jericho's "Talk Is Jericho" podcast features actor and former WWE creative writer Freddie Prinze Jr., who was signed by WWE in 2007. The two sides parted ways in February of 2009. You can hear the full interview at this link.

Freddie, who said working for WWE was a dream job, was responsible for the reinvention of "The" Brian Kendrick and then Jeff Hardy during his WWE Title run. Jericho asked how Freddie was able to get Hardy to trust him, as Jeff is a notorious loner who tends to keep to himself. Freddie tried to be entirely open and honest with Jeff. He said they discussed taboo subjects including drugs and alcohol, death, and suicide. Freddie also wrote for The Undertaker and Kane, revealing that Vince McMahon was more involved with Kane's promos than any other WWE star. Prinze said, "If I wrote Kane was going to 'destroy someone,' he'd say, 'Kane wouldn't say that. Kane would obliterate someone.'" Freddie added that Vince is 127 years old but works like he's in his 70s.

The "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Scooby-Doo" actor was soon put with Alberto Del Rio and told that Mexicans needed to hate him. Freddie said Del Rio was very nervous but wanted to impress Vince, so he was up for whatever worked. Freddie also said he wrote a farewell storyline for Edge, that ended up nixed due to his injury and sudden retirement. The original plan was to have Christian make a big heel turn and force Edge to retire.

Prinze also discussed how he got into WWE, when John Cena approved of him being there, why he liked working with The Miz and lots more in the full interview.

Rumor Mill - WWE Teasing Return To Ring For Triple H And Winning United States Title

With ratings slumping for a couple months now, and with a lot of big-time superstars still out due to injuries, WWE may end up doing some things they didn’t expect to do. Big names have been brought back, Brock Lesnar‘s contract has been renegotiated for more dates, and desperate times call for desperate measures. Now, WWE is teasing that Triple H may not only return to the ring, but he may go after a mid-card title – the United States Championship.

Triple H hasn’t been full-time in the ring for a long time, but he still gets back in there time and again. It was expected that he was going to take on Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 32 in a bit of a mentor vs. protege type thing, but Rollins is out for months due to a knee injury.

Still, Trips can still go in the ring, and it’s possible that fans may be seeing more of him soon.

WWE.com put out a list of the “Top 10 Things We Want To See In 2016,” and one has to believe that many of them are hints more than just dreams. The first one is about Triple H and how he has never won the United States Championship, but he should.

The writers would like to see Triple H win the new Grand Slam which has been won by six people, and that’s capturing all four titles currently offered in WWE.

For many many years in WCW, the United States Championship is one that was won by some true legends including Ricky Steamboat, Sting, Harley Race, and many others. It has a lot of history and has truly been something that has been held by the greatest.

Triple H is not one of them.

Over his 20-year career in WWE, Triple H has won his fair share of titles. Actually, he’s won a ton of them and had a lot of other accomplishments as well, as his Wikipedia page displays.

WWF/E Undisputed Championship – 8 times
World Heavyweight Championship – 5 times
WWF/E Intercontinental Championship – 5 times
WWF/E European Championship – 2 times
WWE Tag Team Championship – 1 time with Shawn Michaels
World Tag Team Championship – 2 times: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels
1997 King of the Ring
2002 Royal Rumble winner

John Cena has truly taken the United States Championship and made it mean something again over the course of the last year. Cena is a main event talent that held the title for a long time and defended it weekly with his U.S. Title Open Challenge.

Now, it’s around the waist of Alberto Del Rio, who is another former world champion and a main event talent. Having Triple H come back into the ring to challenge for the belt, whoever may hold it at the time, could be a big draw.

Each professional wrestling organization has its own version of a Triple Crown or Grand Slam, and at one point or another, Triple H had won what version WWE had available. The current version is one that he can honestly win easily because he has already nabbed three of the four titles.

One interesting storyline could come to light in the coming months, especially with plans for WrestleMania 32 recently being scrapped and WWE starting from scratch. If John Cena continues his feud with Del Rio and wins the United States Title back, wouldn’t it be a little old-school fun for Triple H to take on the WWE hero for it?

Triple H is the subject of a lot of rumors lately, and that includes him winning the Royal Rumble and going on to main event WrestleMania 32. Now, WWE wants to see him win the United States Championship, and it sounds crazy, but it’s a new year and anything is possible.
