Jack Swagger, Seth Rollins, Zack Ryder Respond to Vince McMahon ‘Brass Ring’ Comment

During his WWE Network podcast interview with Steve Austin, Vince McMahon made comments about the current roster being less apt to “grab the brass ring.” He attributed it to a “Millennial” attitude. Several WWE stars have commented, including Jack Swagger who discussed the comments with Mike Jones of DC101

“This is an environment where literally hundreds of thousands of people want to be on this roster, and there’s what, 75 of us on top?” said Swagger. “To get here you have to be very ambitious but to stay here you need even more. It takes a lot of drive and a lot of hard work. I can only speak for myself that I have gotten hungrier. As far as the rest of the locker room, you know, it’s tough but you gotta see the finish line and sometimes that’s hard to do.”

Seth Rollins and Zack Ryder also commented, posting to Twitter:

No better way to grab the brass ring then to take out the so-called last guy to do just that. #WWETLC #TablesMatch How's that for ambition? - Seth Rollins

When my shoulder is healed and I come back, I'll grab that brass ring again...but nothing will stop me this time! - Zack Ryder

Jack Swagger On How Zeb Colter Became His Manager

WWE Superstar Jack Swagger recently spoke to Music Recall Magazine:

MRM: How did Zeb Colter become your manager?

Swagger: It’s a cool story. We were a couple weeks out from the Elimination Chamber in 2013. And we were in Nashville for a Raw TV taping, and Zeb lives in Nashville, and we knew we wanted another character to go along with the storyline. Triple H had an idea to bring him in, and he came in. He started discussing some ideas, and he did a couple promos on tape and Vince and Hunter just loved it. It was very meant to be. He already had the mustache and fit the character to a T.

Rumor Mill - Backstage Plans For Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger

Look for WWE to break up the Real Americans team of Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro, with Cesaro turning babyface. WWE officials are hoping that this Cesaro Giant Swing move he's been doing will impress the audience and help get him over more in preparation for his face turn.

No word on what will be done with Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter, but one might assume that they'll just go back to how they were before Cesaro joined the faction.

WWE Invites Glenn Beck to RAW

WWE has extended an invitation to talk show host and political commentator, Glenn Beck to appear live this Monday on Raw, in response to a segment that aired on TheBlaze TV yesterday. In the segment, Beck references WWE as “stupid wrestling people,” when criticizing a recent WWE storyline involving WWE characters Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio®, Jack Swagger® and Zeb Colter®. WWE is giving Beck the opportunity to address our 14 million weekly viewers and our global fan base, as he believes we are offending our “conservative” fans with this storyline.

Similar to other television shows and feature films, WWE is in the entertainment business, creating fictional characters that serve as protagonists or antagonists. To create compelling and relevant content for our audience, it is important to incorporate current events into our storylines. WWE is creating a rivalry centered on a topical subject that has varying points of view. This storyline was developed to build the Mexican American character Del Rio into a hero given WWE’s large Latino base, which represents 20 percent of our audience.

What Happened After Raw Went Off the Air in NJ

After Raw goes off air, Triple H gets on the mic and blames The Undertaker for retiring Shawn Michaels. Triple H called out Undertaker. A referee was in the ring and a match appeared to be kicking off. Triple H tells Undertaker they are the "last two" of a dying breed and there is only room for one. The heels make a run-in including CM Punk, Luke Gallows, Chris Jericho, Jack Swagger, Zack Ryder, Carlito, Kozlov and Dolph Ziggler. Undertaker and Triple H fight them off. Triple H gives the referee a Pedigree and then walks into a Tombstone. The show ends with Undertaker posing.

SmackDown Results: Jackpot in Vegas

Moments after an irate Edge blasted his WrestleMania opponent, Chris Jericho, with The Spear, Mr. Money in the Bank, Jack Swagger, emerged to leave the entire WWE Universe breathless. Without warning, “The All-American American” stormed onto the scene, nailing the unsuspecting Ultimate Opportunist from behind with his newly-acquired Money in the Bank briefcase. Frantically calling for an official, Swagger proceeded to cash in his championship opportunity, pinning Jericho for the World Title after the Gutwrench Powerbomb heard ’round the world. Swagger’s monumental triumph came just four days after he attempted to use his Money in the Bank position on Raw against John Cena, only to rescind the decision at the last second.

There is no more Cryme Tyme in WWE after Shad turned on JTG following a loss to John Morrison & R-Truth on last night's SmackDown. Shad later cut a promo and said it's now his time. Full results.

Rumor Mill - Details Behind Why WWE is Pushing New Talent

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the reason why Kofi Kingston is getting such a big push right now is because WWE officials feel that the company needs an African-American baby face towards the top of the card. After several other talents that were selected for the spot didn't work out the way the company had hoped, the decision was made to give Kingston the big push.

It's also being reported that Jack Swagger's push has been slowed down, and possibly even halted, as WWE officials feel that he is not panning out the way the company had hoped.

As far as Sheamus and Drew McIntyre are concerned, they are getting their respective pushes right now because Sheamus is the work out partner of Triple H, and McIntyre is well liked by both Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

Triple H Comments on the Next Wave of WWE Superstars

Who do you regard as the next wave of headline-level talent in WWE?

Well CM Punk is obviously already on his way to becoming a big star. Jack Swagger, I like Sheamus. Evan Bourne is very good. Kofi Kingston. They are all moving up, but slowly, which is the right way.

Finally, are you mentoring any WWE wrestler in particular? And in who, do you see the most of young Triple H?

The closest to me is probably Sheamus, because we always train together on the road. But I try to watch all the young guys' matches and give them advice, if they want to hear it. If they take advice to heart and really want to improve, then I'm willing to help. As for seeing some of myself in someone? That's tough. Sheamus just the other day showed up at a show he didn't have to be at. He does whatever he's asked to do without complaining, he goes to every show and is always wanting to work. He does is all, goes above and beyond. That's what I was like.

Chris Jericho Urges Vince McMahon to Ditch the Company's Old Guard in Favour of Promoting New Talent

Despite himself being a 19 year-veteran, the 38-year-old Canadian claims the world's leading wrestling promotion is in danger of going stale if the likes of Triple H, Undertaker and Shawn Michaels continue to dominate the spotlight.

Jericho insists rising stars like Legacy, Morrison and Jack Swagger can safeguard the long-term future of the company if McMahon gives them the opportunity to do so.

"I think that Morrison is learning more each week, I think Dolph Ziggler is learning more each week, Cryme Tyme have learned a lot over the last few months.

"Legacy is getting there, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston and The Miz — those are the guys that are going to have to start becoming more of a presence.

"A couple of guys in ECW, like Evan Bourne... Sheamus is another guy that I think has some potential.

Former world heavyweight champion Jericho said: "Creating new talent, creating new stars, that's the most important thing for any of the brands to do.

"They have to keep the wheels turning — they can't just base it on the same guys year in and year out. That's how business fails — that's how WCW failed."...More?

Cody Rhodes Weighs in on the Lack of Stars on Raw

"I personally think that when people say stuff like that, when people say there hasn't been a breakout, I ask them if they saw the last breakout coming," Rhodes said in an interview with AOL Fanhouse. "Monday Night Raw is like a varsity team. And it's filled with freshmen. Very talented, very young, but it's something the fans are now getting to grow with. It's a cool experience. I can remember watching Michaels go from tag to Intercontinental Champion to taking the longest run possible to the WWE championship. I think it might be a while till somebody becomes that breakout star, but I know that you have a lot of hopefuls."

Rhodes specifically put over Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, Evan Bourne and, of course, Legacy as the potential stars of the future.

Raw Results: The Animal's Kingdom
