WWE Hall Of Famer Tammy Sytch Receives Sentence In DUI Manslaughter Case

After over a year and a half of lawyer changes, courtroom incidents, and everything in between, a resolution has been reached in Tammy Sytch's DUI manslaughter case. The WWE Hall of Famer is looking at a long stint in prison.

TMZ reports that Sytch was handed a 17-year prison sentence today for her role in the death of a 75-year-old man during a traffic accident in March 2022. In addition, Sytch will serve eight years probation after she is released in 2040, and her driver's license has been permanently revoked. The 17-year sentence represents a slight reprieve for Sytch, who faced up to 25 years maximum.

Sytch was first arrested for the incident in May 2022, after her blood alcohol levels were revealed to be well over the legal limit. Sytch would at first plead not guilty to all charges, but eventually pleaded no contest earlier this summer after reaching a plea deal. The WWE Hall of Famer addressed the victim's family today in an emotional scene, though she reportedly remained stoic during her sentencing.

Sources at PWInsider have learned that WWE Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch was arrested in Freehold, New Jersey yesterday. Sytch currently remains incarcerated at the Monmouth County Corrections Facility as we anticipate further details about her arrest.

A bench warrant was apparently issued for Sytch in the State of Pennsylvania on 2/15, as well. Court records indicate that Sytch paid a $120 fee in the months of October and November 2018 to begin reimbursing the State of Pennsylvania for the costs in her legal cases. Former WWE Star Tammy 'Sunny' Sytch Arrested On Fugitive From Justice Charges

Tammy Sytch, also known as former WWE star Sunny, is once again behind bars, with cops saying she is a "fugitive from justice."

According to a report tonight by TMZ, jail records show that Sytch is currently locked up in New Jersey on contempt of court and fugitive from justice charges.

TMZ is trying to get more details on what exactly led to her arrest.

Sytch, who turned 45 years old in December, has been arrested several times over the years. In 2012, she was arrested five times in a four-week span, for disorderly conduct, third-degree burglary, and three counts of violating a protective order. She was arrested a sixth time in January 2013, also for violating a protective order. She served 114 days in jail and was released in May 2013.

In January 2016, Sytch pleaded guilty to driving while under suspension. On August 18, 2016, a judge sentenced her to 90 days in jail but counted her 97 days in rehab as jail credit. Sytch remained in jail on these charges through her arraignment in January 2017. She was fined $1,496.45 for the remaining charges and released on February 3, 2017.

More Details On Tammy Sytch DUI Arrests, Former Diva Facing Mandatory Prison Time

TNOnline.com featured an article today looking at WWE Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch pleading guilty to the three DUI cases against her. As we noted previously on PWInsider.com, Sytch plead guilty to DUI charges stemming from arrests on 5/30/15, 6/1/15 and 6/20/15 as part of a plea agreement.

The Judge presiding over the case is now waiting for the results of a pre-sentencing investigation (which Sytch's defense requested) as well as the results of a drug and alcohol evaluation.

During her hearing on 1/30, Sytch was informed that she will face mandatory prison terms on two of the counts against her. If she is approved for the Intermediate Prisoner Program, she would also be subject to house arrest following her prison term.

The TNOnline.com article, noted that at the time of all of her arrests, Sytch did not have a valid driver's license in any States and provided some additional details on each arrest.

On 5/30, Sytch was stopped by Mahoning Township, PA police after being seen driving erratically into a Wal-Mart parking lot. A test showed a 0.25 percent Blood-Alcohol level.

On 6/1, Sytch was pulled over after her car crossed the solid center yellow line several times and then entered oncoming traffic on Interchange Road in Lehighton, PA. Sytch was unable to provide proof of insurance or a drivers license and was identified via authorities checking records. When he stopped her at 10510 Interchange Road, Lazarchick said she was unable to provide a driver’s license and proof of insurance. He identified her through a records check. Trooper Jonathan Lazarchick of the Pennsylvania State Police reported that her eyes were bloodshot and glassy and that she smelled like alcohol. There was an open bottle of Coors Light in the passenger side of the vehicle and another 11 unopened. The open cap was on the floor of her passenger's side. Sytch claimed she had been drinking the night before, was driving to pick up milk and eggs and when asked to get out of the vehicle, staggered, had problems with her balance and needed to lean on her car to maintain her balance. Her blood-alcohol content was 0.3 percent.

On 6/20, Sytch crashed her car into a ditch in Towamensing Township at 10:40 p.m. and claimed to authorities responding that her GPS had told her to made a "sudden turn", leading to her turning too wide and ending up in the ditch. Sytch told authorities that she was unable to back the car back out. Cpl. Shawn Noonan of the Pennsylvania State Police observed the odor of alcohol and bloodshot eyes. He requested Sytch take a field sobriety test but she claimed to be "in too much pain due to her recently blacking out and falling down the steps." She was taken under arrest for DUI and was given a breathalyzer test back at police barracks. The results of that test were 0.078 percent. Sytch would later claim on social media, in response to PWInsider.com reporting of the case, she was not arrested for DUI when she crashed her car because she had a "seizure."

Sunny Issues Apology To WWE After Her Outburst About The Company

Following on from WWE's recent comments about how they will not pay for anymore treatment for ex-WWE Diva Sunny, she has issued an apology to company officials for lying about WWE's treatment.

During a recent shoot she made, she said WWE transferred her from a $10,000 a day treatment facility to a $150 facility because "she wasn't Scott Hall". However, Sunny has now come out and said that the move was actually made due to recommendation from the original treatment centre. Sunny noted that it wasn't nearly as comfortable as the original.

She also said that her original critisism of WWE was unfair and made out of "anger" and "frustration" as she wasn't taking her medicine. She said that she projected her anger to the WWE instead of taking responsibility for her own actions.

Sunny Claims WWE's Support of Her Rehab Treatment Was Done for Political Gain; WWE Issues Response

Former WWE star Tammy “Sunny” Sytch is alleging that her plush WWE-sponsored rehab treatment was only done to make Linda McMahon look good in her failed Senate bid last year, but once the race was over, she was transferred to rehab in less-than-stellar conditions.

In a new video interview with Sean Oliver of Breaking Kayfabe, the troubled WWE Hall of Famer says that WWE moved her into a cheaper facility in an effort to slash costs. The first treatment center, she claims in the interview, cost WWE $1,000 per day, but the one she was put in after the election was about 90 percent cheaper, according to CagesideSeats.com.

Sytch—often credited as the original WWE Diva during her first three years with the company—has been arrested six times in the past year on charges of disorderly conduct, burglary and protective order violation involving a boyfriend.

Five of those arrests came while Linda McMahon was in the midst of a Republican bid for a Connecticut Senate seat.

The sixth arrest came last month, one day before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

WWE has released the following statement:

As part of the Former Talent Rehabilitation Program, WWE has sent Ms. Sytch to rehabilitation numerous times, with all costs covered by WWE. Unfortunately, Ms. Sytch has continued to make poor personal choices and is ultimately responsible for the consequences of these decisions. WWE has always provided rehabilitation at a certified treatment center; however, given Ms. Sytch’s inability to change her lifestyle and successfully complete treatment, WWE will no longer fund her rehabilitation.
