Six Years Ago Today, NXT Relaunched At Full Sail University

Today has marked a very special anniversary for the WWE, as it has been six years since the revamp of NXT, with episode one airing June 20, 2012.

The relaunched focused of new stars and establishing NXT as it's own brand, instead of the reality-competition style of NXT which launched in February 2010.

The results for the show were:

Bo Dallas defeated Rick ViktorThe Ascension (Conor O'Brian and Kenneth Cameron) defeated CJ Parker and Mike DaltonTyson Kidd defeated Michael McGillicutty

A lot has changed since then, with Viktor joining the Ascension as well as Cameron and Parker being released.

In addition, Mike Dalton has gone on to become Tyler Breeze, with Michael McGillicutty becoming Curtis Axel.

Jim Ross Comments on the Release of Developmental Wrestler Kenneth Cameron

"Kenneth Cameron being released was unfortunate but one reaps what one sows and I hope that he's able to still live his dream at some point. Cameron had a great opportunity to make his mark in WWE with Ascension along with Conor O'Brien. O'Brien was in a single's bout at NXT and was very solid Thursday night."

Cameron (Thomas Latimer) was arrested on November 22 and charged with disorderly intoxication and battery on a law enforcement officer. Given the charges, it's no surprise that WWE opted to sever ties.

Rumor Mill - Backstage News On NXT Wrestlers

With Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns being brought up to the main roster, the next group of guys on the rise in NXT look to be Big E Langston, Bray Wyatt (Taylor Rotunda), his brother Bo Dallas (Windham Rotunda) and the tag team of The Ascension – Conor O’Brian and Kenneth Cameron.

The Ascension have a great ring entranced and packaging as a team plus have developed a lot of double team moves from the old 1980′s heel tag teams. Now that there is more emphasis on tag teams in WWE, they may be brought up together soon.
