As noted earlier, WWE is close to an agreement to work with WWN, the parent company of EVOLVE, Full Impact Pro and the now-defunct Dragon Gate USA. According to a source, the deal is that WWE will pay WWN a certain fee like they did for ECW in the 1990s. They will pay WWN to develop talent and keep them away from ROH and TNA so that NXT can get a look.
We noted earlier that The Wrestling Observer newsletter reported that top WWE officials not happy with ROH recently releasing a Kevin Steen action figure. This deal with WWN is said to be partially due to ROH releasing that item.

Decline In DVD Sales & Rampant Piracy Force Indy Wrestling To Internet Pay-Per-View
The move to all-digital distribution is already well under way, and it poses a problem for businesses that have based themselves around the sale of shiny plastic discs. That, combined with the rampant piracy of these discs when they’re released has particularly hurt independent pro-wrestling organizations (to pick something out of thin air). Gabe Sapolsky, vice-president of Dragon Gate USA, owner of Evolve, and former head booker of Ring of Honor, was recently interviewed on Figure Four Daily, a podcast dedicated to pro-wrestling and MMA news, and said that the only way these companies will survive is if a new technology, Internet Pay-Per-View, becomes viable...More?

Ring of Honor Confirms Re-Signing of Davey Richards
Davey Richards has re-signed with Ring of Honor and has been pulled from all future Dragon Gate USA and EVOLVE Wrestling shows. It is believed that Richards signed a contract that forces him to get all bookings approved by ROH management, a clause that is typically in a lot of the higher level talent's contracts.
Dragon Gate USA released the following statement:
"Effective immediately Davey Richards has been removed from all DGUSA and EVOLVE events. I have been advised not to make more comments now. We apologize for the lineup changes and will do our best to make it up to you. We wanted to get word out now so we don't false advertise."

For those of you haven't heard of Dragon Gate they are a Japanese based promotion, but with a more high-flying Mexican style. They have built up a cult-like following around the world thanks to the Internet and tape traders.
