Bayley was scheduled to challenge Belair in an “I Quit” match for the title at the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view on Sunday. “The Role Model” is the first WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion, as she has won every title in the company’s women’s division.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.

Update: Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that it’s believed that Bayley tore her ACL while she was training at the WWE Performance Center.

Additionally, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com reports that the injury occurred at a mandated “return to the road” training session. It was called a “freak accident”, as Bayley was simply doing some chan wrestling during the training session.

We're told the Bayley injury happened during the mandatory "return to road" training session at the WWE Performance Center while doing chain wrestling with another Superstar. It was referred to as a freak accident.

Rumor Mill - Sasha Banks And Bayley Reportedly Cause A Bad Scene Over WrestleMania Loss

Sasha Banks felt "blindsided" by the decision to put the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles on The IIconics and reportedly tried to quit the company. It was noted that she expected to have a strong run with Bayley and the titles. According to the report, which you can read at this link, Banks has been given time to think everything over before making a decision.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet took to Twitter today and reported that Banks and Bayley were laying on the floor of the locker room at Met Life Stadium on Sunday, "loudly making it known they were unhappy" about dropping the titles. It was also noted that they made a similar scene back at the WWE hotel.

"Heard from a few sources now saying Sasha Banks and Bayley were laying on the floor of the locker room on Sunday, and back at the hotel in front of one of their rooms, loudly making it known they were unhappy about losing the tag titles," Satin wrote on Twitter.

Satin defended his report and said he heard the same information from multiple sources. "This info is from four different sources I've spoken with the past day. All independent from each other and all came to me about it, not the other way around," he wrote in one tweet to a fan. He continued in another tweet, "Was told this by four separate people who have no relation to each other. There were a lot of people staying in the hotel during Mania weekend."

Triple H On Vince McMahon's Thoughts On Charlotte And Sasha Banks Headlining HIAC

Triple H recently spoke with the Gorilla Position podcast after making an appearance on this past episode of Raw. Here are some of the highlights:

Sasha Banks and Charlotte in the Hell in a Cell main event:

"We didn't give them the main event, they earned the main event. They earned it by knocking the ball out of the park each and every night. Vince [McMahon] had to have confidence that Charlotte and Sasha could close out Hell in a Cell inside Hell in a Cell, for the first time ever and make that entire event deliver."

The evolution of women's wrestling:

"We changed the business with a handful of girls in NXT - Paige, Emma, Natalya and Charlotte and then Sasha and Bayley. I am so proud of them. I feel like a dad - I am more nervous than when I walk out at WrestleMania. I have watched them become stars and represent themselves so well in interviews. When you build something from nothing and they deliver to that level it makes you so proud. They have come so far, so fast and will continue to get that opportunity because they deliver."

Charlotte / Sasha Banks / Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 32:

"You had all these things happening where women in athletics were becoming more prominent and accepted - Venus and Serena Williams, Ronda Rousey, the US women's soccer team. It was a perfect opportunity to put our athletes, who I argue are among the best in the world, out there in that manner - it made my job easy knowing they had the ability to steal the show."

Triple H also discussed his progression from full-time performer to working in a backstage role. You can hear the entire interview by clicking here.

Recap of Triple H's Facebook Q & A

The following are the highlights of Triple H’s appearance on Facebook Live following the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II event.

-Cathy Kelley interviewed Triple H backstage at Barclays Center. They both raved about the live special. He said that changing the entire industry last year and to come back and do this tonight shows that NXT is on fire and is getting bigger and bigger. Kelley raved about how NXT sold out Barclays two years in a row.

-Hunter also spoke with pride about taking NXT to Australia and New Zealand. He said WWE Network is everywhere so they can go anywhere. He said they are at a point where they have to pick and choose.

-Kelley asked what Asuka defeating Bayley means for Bayley. “I guess we will see,” Hunter said with a smile. He said Brooklyn is Bayley’s city and she could be the honorary mayor. He said whether she wins or loses, she lights the place on fire. He said the crowd gave her a standing ovation and the people went crazy for her. Hunter said Asuka is on a different level right now and he doesn’t seen anyone touching her in the NXT women’s division anytime soon.

-Kelley mentioned Shinsuke Nakamura becoming the new NXT Champion and how he and Asuka are international talents who hold titles. Hunter said it speaks to the brand. He said everyone wants to be in NXT. “In my opinion, it’s the hottest brand going right now,” he said.

-Kelley asked about the various wrestlers who have been called up to Raw and Smackdown and how it affects NXT. Hunter said that if you look at last year’s show in Brooklyn, the wrestlers who were on it are the main roster of WWE today. He said you’ll see the first NXT Champion Seth Rollins face the longest reigning NXT Champion Finn Balor at SummerSlam. He also mentioned Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte. He said he watched those wrestlers come through NXT and put it on the map. He said he couldn’t be more proud of all of them. He said that when you look at what NXT did this year, it was a completely different group of people. “The talent pool here is as deep as it’s ever been and will continue to be that because we’re going to continue to create the future and the future always evolves,” he said. Hunter said the secret of NXT is that they will always deliver something “new, fresh, and exciting.”

-Hunter went out of his way to mention the Nakamura entrance. “Who would have predicted a violin player, at a WWE event, just lighting the place up?” he asked. Hunter said it was amazing and Nakamura is “just one of those once in a lifetime athletes who can come in and captivate the world.”

Bayley Reveals Nickname For Triple H, Talks Frustration Not Being Called Up, Rebuilding Herself

On episode 267 of Talk Is Jericho, former NXT Women's Champion, Bayley, talked about Triple H's influence on the so-called Divas' Revolution, how she feels about being the last of the Four Horsewomen remaining in NXT, and how she would like to transition to one of WWE's tentpole programs.

According to Bayley, Triple H truly cares about the performers and no one has a better understanding of the characters than 'The Game'.

"It's cool," Bayley said. "He's the man. I always, like, Sasha, Charlotte, and Becky, we've all kind of said, like, it was so crazy how we came at the same time and kind of grew together because I think if I came a year later or a year earlier, it just wouldn't have meant as much or I don't know. At the time, he was always so cool too. He cared about everybody. He cares about everybody and he knows everyone's characters more than anybody else. Like, no matter how long the match is, or what the program is, or if you're on the bottom of the card or the top of the card, he cared about it because it's his. This is his baby and he wanted to make sure it's the best ever, so I really noticed him really caring about when, I guess, when we came with the Women's title and Paige won it the first time. I was like, 'man, he wants to make this special', so it just kind of motivates you. And you see with interviews he does and some of the panel stuff that they did for Brooklyn, he just has such a - I don't know - I think he has like a soft spot for us. Yeah, we call him 'Papa Hunter'."

During the podcast, Bayley admitted that she feels ready to move on to WWE Monday Night RAW or WWE SmackDown Live.

"I think I'm getting more towards [frustration]. When they first went up, I was so excited and just like, 'dude, I'm just so happy for you guys - if you guys can mold the division and make it easier for me when I get there, like, go for it!' and I had things I wanted to work on here [in NXT]. I had to be the champion and like being able to work with a lot of the younger girls, which I think has been great for me that I wouldn't be able to do if I moved with them. Like, I think I've learned more in this past year than I have in, I don't know, just my whole career because I have to work with all levels of people." Bayley added, "but now, I think I've done what I can and especially after WrestleMania [32] and saw their amazing match and the new Women's title, I'm like, 'dude, this is where I need to be. So now, I'm pretty, like, 'alright, let's do this!'"

Additionally, Bayley claimed that she does not want to be thrown into the title picture immediately upon being called up from NXT. Rather, the former 'Davina Rose' said she would like to build herself up organically, much like she did in NXT.

"I mean, if I had it my way, I'd prefer to kind of start out the same way I did in NXT where I was just kind of laying low. And I don't want to be thrown in the championship mix right away. I kind of like growing in front of the fans. And I think that's why it was such a huge deal when I won the title because they've seen me at the very bottom and just kind of be this girl that's you know. I don't want to be thrown into the [title] picture and get lost or be like I'm this huge deal already because I have to reintroduce myself. So that's kind of what I'm looking forward to. What I hope to do is just grow in front of the larger audience, but I hope it all kind of works out the same way. I hope I really don't have to change much because I'm so happy with how it's going right now. But, if along the way they give me a few things they want me to change or that I need to tweak to make it better, make the produce better, then I can do it."

Bayley's WWE Battleground Debut a "One Time Thing"

Sasha Banks blew the roof off a sold out Verizon Center in Washington D.C. tonight at WWE Battleground when she revealed NXT Superstar Bayley as her surprise partner to take on the team of WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte, and Dana Brooke.

Bayley later revealed that tonight’s appearance was “just a one time thing”, and that her main goal right now is staying focused on reclaiming the NXT Women’s title. While anything can and will happen in WWE, it would appear that the resident “Hugger” of NXT will be staying put in the hybrid developmental program for the time being.

Right now it looks like the company wants to keep all their major stars in place for next month’s NXT Takeover: Back to Brooklyn special, where Bayley will face Asuke for the women’s title, and Joe will defend against Nakamura. The crew will also be doing a big southern tour kicking off this week, and traditionally when NXT leaves the Florida area it’s an “all hands on deck” situation as they need all their major stars to sell tickets, make the promotional rounds and drive merch sales. Several reports have indicated that WWE is looking to do another round of call-ups in September or October after their current schedule dies down.

WWE And NXT ASF 2016 Coverage Day Two: Samoa Joe, Balor, Bayley Steals Gimmick, Q&As, Tryouts, More

Matches

* Apollo Crews defeated Tino Sabbotelli.

* Chad Gable defeated Riddick Moss.

* Dan Matha vs. Aiden English kept seeing interference from Simon Gotch, so Dylan Miley ran in. William Regal showed up and made it a tag team match, which Miley and Matha won, to the shock of the crowd. Matha and Miley are really plain, but they're brand new to live events, too.

* Tye Dillinger defeated Kishan Raftar. Dillinger chopped the living hell out of Raftar, who messed up an armdrag. It was surprising to see Raftar, Matha and Miley, because last year most of the talents we saw were almost TV ready.

* Bayley defended the Women's title and beat Nia Jax in an NXT TakeOver London re-match. Eva Marie got beaten up by Bayley after the match. Again, Bayley was over. The barricades were rushed as soon as her music hit. During the match, Bayley grabbed the T-shirt and "10" sign that Dillinger left and totally stole his gimmick.

* Jason Jordan defeated Johnny Gargano with a half nelson suplex. Johnny Gargano was really over, as he's an Ohio guy. These two had a good match.

* Apollo Crews defeated Riddick Moss. This was the kind of match both guys had been having all weekend, which was good for the live crowd.

* Billie Kay defeated Alexa Bliss. Poor Alexa Bliss can't get a win in her own hometown. The crowd always popped for her when she came out, but she'd end up heeling them. I have no idea what the Billie Kay gimmick is, but her entrance theme is pretty cool.

* Chad Gable defeated Scott Dawson with a deadlift German suplex. Their partners were fanning them off with the signature towels before they locked up. A really good match, great chemistry.

* Asuka & Peyton Royce defeated Mandy Rose & Emma via the Asuka Lock. I don't think I saw Mandy Rose really mess up all weekend, which says a lot considering she was on a reality show a few months ago. She's learning quickly by the looks of it.

* Finn Balor and Sami Zayn defeated Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin. All of these guys felt like stars in this. This was an outstanding tag team match, which saw Balor get the pin after a Bloody Sunday on Corbin, following a Helluva kick from Sami Zayn. Much like yesterday, it was really impressive to see.

Q&As

* Mark Henry said he didn't know what he's doing at WrestleMania, and might jump someone to get involved. He said he wouldn't mind being in the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal, and tells a story about Andre picking him up after being pushed down at an event. He singles out Apollo Crews as an NXT talent he'd like to face and says he pushed for him. He called the Mae Young era the most fun in his career and said she was a good kisser, before singling out the Undertaker at WrestleMania 22 as his favorite opponent.

* Sara Del Rey, Matt Bloom and William Regal did a great Q&A. They said that nobody from last year's ASF tryouts was still with WWE, and the ones we see are abbreviated to give us an idea. Sara says that she and Matt are like a brother/sister team, while Regal says he coaches a lot of footwork and evaluates talent. Regal says there's no cutoff for age if someone has a supreme skill set, but for someone new, 30ish is the general range. Sara tells us that in her opinion, Bayley should be the next to go up to the WWE roster, and fans thank and clap for Sara's part in the Diva's revolution. They're asked about ZZ, and they say that he's working hard and getting better. William Regal says that he's hopeful that there will be a new season of Breaking Ground, and that he's very excited for Shinsuke Nakamura. Bloom says he's excited to see him and not get kicked this time. Sara closes by saying she'd love women's tag titles in NXT or the main roster.

Familiar Faces

- We mentioned yesterday that several wrestling personalities were around for the Arnold Classic, and today was no different. Former WCW talent Bill Kazmaier met with fans at the event.

Also, Hardcore legend Sabu was there signing and taking photos.

Other notes

- As was the case yesterday, several talents were signing autographs. While the lines didn't reach anywhere near the length of yesterday's they were still pretty long. Eva Marie was a big hit, and was very personable and friendly, taking pictures with people and adding them to her snapchat. Gable and Jordan are also incredibly friendly with individuals in the crowd.

- During yesterday's match with American Alpha, The Revival and made fun of them, calling them the "American Males."

- Tom Phillips is a pro and seems like he loves his job. Dasha Fuentes is a pretty good ring announcer, and they did a great job hosting today.

- Sunday's crowd was much smaller, much easier to navigate and the like. The place was buzzing about Saturday night's UFC.

- Regarding the tryouts, we saw the same names as yesterday there. If they do well, they're invited to a full tryout at the Performance Center.

- Tommaso Ciampa didn't wrestle, but did sign autographs. He wasn't using crutches, slings, or anything to indicate he was severely injured.

WWE Diva Natalya: 'NXT has given hope to women on the main roster'

Digital Spy recently interviewed Natalya to promote the current season of Total Divas, which airs every Tuesday at 9pm on E!. Below are a few highlights:

Possibly headlining a WWE pay-per-view:

"Especially with the direction the Divas are going in, and how much they've been investing in the Divas lately with the whole Divas Revolution and all, I could totally see myself and Charlotte having a main event match. WWE is really starting to take notice of the women - much as a trend that the rest of society is taking notice of what Ronda Rousey has done."

The evolution of women's wrestling:

"You look at Bayley and Sasha at TakeOver: Brooklyn and the Iron Man Match [at TakeOver: Respect]. I've told both girls that both those matches were so good because it got you emotionally. It wasn't just about Bayley or Sasha doing cool moves. They made you care, they made you feel something. When people make you feel something, you don't forget it. That's why I have to say that NXT has really helped give the girls some hope. Now we're being allowed to do the same thing on the main roster. A lot of us - from myself, to the Bella Twins, to Alicia Fox, Paige, Naomi, Tamina - we all want to have the same opportunities that the NXT girls have. The fact that Triple H has spearheaded it is cool."

Natalya also discussed how WWE has changed for women since she started, Triple H helping make change, wanting to regain the WWE Divas Championship and more. You can read the full interview by clicking here.

Triple H On WWE Being Like A Traveling Family, Matt Bloom On Expecting Results From Talents, More

George Diaz of The Orlando Sentinel recently did a story on the WWE Performance Center. You can see their video and the full article at this link. The story features quotes from Triple H, head coach Matt Bloom, WWE NXT Women's Champion Bayley and NXT star Tino Sabatellli, known to NFL fans as former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Sabby Piscitelli. Below are a few highlights:

Triple H on what he told Vince McMahon when asked to get more involved with the company and report back with his observations:

"I think the biggest gap we have is that we're doing all these amazing things to grow our business and our company, except: How are we finding these guys for the future? We're a victim of our own success. Territories don't exist; the outside places to do this are less and less. How do you want to do that?"

Bloom on the talents living in Orlando:

"They get paid well. We expect results. They do very well. I can tell you we take the hustle out of the game of the independent circuit where you have to live week to week and hope you get bookings. We now enable these men and women to come in and do what they love."

Triple H on the coolest thing about the business:

"The business has always been — I hate saying this — a traveling circus because I feel like most people say that in a derogatory way, but it's like a traveling family. They're all learning together at different levels and they are there to support each other, and that's what I always stress to the talent. The coolest thing about this business is that when you're a star, you can reach down and try to help a kid who is trying to become a star and help him or her."

NXT TakeOver: Respect Results

October 6, 2015

Notes From Triple H's 'NXT TakeOver: Respect' Media Call: Finn Balor - TNA, Working With NJPW, Vince

Triple H conducted his usual NXT TakeOver media call this afternoon. You can check out several highlights below.

* Triple H was a little tardy getting to the call. He says that he was late due to wishing Bruno Sammartino a Happy Birthday.

* HHH says that the "Respect" theme for this week's TakeOver has a double meaning. It's for the women, as well as a tribute for a all of the respect the NXT roster has for the late Dusty Rhodes.

* Triple H expects this week's Sasha Bank vs. Bayley match to be better than the one in Brooklyn.

* He compares the demographic of NXT to punk rock and hip hop, and the WWE to pop music in that WWE gets a much wider demographic.

* He says he's more than open to speaking to New Japan Pro Wrestling and other promotions about bringing in talent like they did with Jushin Thunder Liger.

* HHH says that all of the Divas made the Divas revolution possible, not just one.

* Finn Balor sent Triple H the picture of him doing the "suck it" crotch chop outside TNA offices in Nashville and asked if he could post it on social media. Triple H approved because he thought it was funny and anyone who had an issue with it takes this all too seriously.

* Vince McMahon has no say about anything that goes on in NXT. He could overrule Triple H if he wanted but he never does. He claimed Vince told him he's looking forward to the Bayley vs. Banks match. Vince McMahon watched NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn and liked it.

* They debated calling the Bayley vs. Sasha Banks Iron Man match an "Iron Woman" match and Lita told them she thought it would be demeaning to do so.

* He likes the idea of Evolve as a feeder system.

WWE And Triple H Officially Announce 30-Minute Ironwoman Match For WWE NXT Takeover

WWE and Triple H have officially announced Sasha Banks vs. Bayley in a 30-Minute Ironwoman Match for the main event of the October 7th NXT Takeover special:

On the heels of their groundbreaking, show-stealing battle at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, Bayley and Sasha Banks are set to make history once again. NXT General Manager William Regal has confirmed that the two will clash once again in the main event of NXT TakeOver on Oct. 7 in a 30-Minute Iron Man Match for the NXT Women's Championship!

This title match will go a full half-hour. Whoever scores the most pinfalls, submissions, disqualifications or count-outs will win the match and be declared NXT Women's Champion.

The rivalry between these two Divas runs deep. After months of coming up short in championship matches, Bayley finally found the champion's spirit within, going on a tear through the best competition NXT had to offer, defeating Emma, Charlotte and Becky Lynch to earn a title match with Sasha in Brooklyn. While the match meant everything to Bayley, The Boss dismissed her challenger before the bell even rang. Having been called up to WWE's main roster as part of the Divas Revolution, the Team B.A.D. member brushed Bayley off, saying that she wasn't worth her time.

Fueled by Sasha's disrespect, Bayley laid it all on the line at the sold-out Barclays Center. Despite The Boss' best attempts to re-injure her hand, the happy-go-lucky Diva fought through the pain, and several nasty spills, to connect with a reverse hurricanrana off the ropes and a Belly-to-Bayley Suplex to capture the title.

Having finally reached the top of the mountain, Bayley stood tall with the NXT Women's Championship in hand, soon to be joined in celebration by Charlotte and Becky. Sasha got back in the ring and hugged her rival, before the four Divas who changed the face of women's wrestling took a curtain call at NXT's biggest event ever.

As it turns out, the last chapter in this grueling rivalry hadn't been written yet. Bayley and Sasha Banks will have another opportunity to change the game at NXT TakeOver. Who will go the distance in a grueling 30-Minute WWE Iron Man Match and walk out of Orlando with the NXT Women's Championship? Find out Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, only on WWE Network!

Paige And Steve Austin On Who Started The Divas Revolution, More

Austin brings up Triple H being a big influence on her and she says he's been a huge influence. She went through a stage where she had bad luck - a car wreck, surgery, had to be out of action for 3 months, her bank account got hacked and her dog got hit by a car. She was ready to go back home but Triple H worked with her and soon after she made history by winning the NXT Women's Title. She says the whole Divas Revolution really was started by Triple H. The next Twitter question asks if Paige she thinks she started it. Triple H was the one who started it with NXT. She brings up AJ Lee and says she looked up to her. She talks about how surprised they were when Triple H gave she and Emma 20 minutes at the first NXT special. She says he started it but her and Emma got the ball rolling. She says they opened the door for other Divas like Charlotte and Bayley but she gives huge props to trainer Sara Del Rey. She also gives props to Finlay and Dean Malenko, who she goes to a lot these days...More?

'The Four Horsewomen' of NXT: Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Bayley and Becky Lynch on how they're changing women's wrestling

If you’ve watched WWE NXT any time in the past year (and you really should be watching WWE NXT), you’ve likely noticed something: The women’s division is really damn good.

Bolstered by out-of-nowhere performances by the likes of NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and more, the ladies of NXT have blown up to main-level attractions under the guidance of WWE COO Triple H. As NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable approached, and just hours before Sasha and Ric Flair progeny Charlotte main-evented NXT’s first Live Event in Philadelphia, Charlotte, Sasha, Bayley and Becky Lynch sat down for a roundtable interview with WWE.com. The division’s “Four Horsewomen” opened up on how they got to where they are, where they see themselves going (hint: WrestleMania) and why someday they’ll tell the boys to “Follow that.”

So without further ado, sit back and enjoy some straight shooting from the show-stealin’, wheelin’-dealin’, high-flyin’, revolutionizin’, hug-givin’, match-winnin’ and (onetime) Irish-jiggin’ women — key word — of NXT. Click here.
