Sean Waltman Explains Why The Kliq Recruited Triple H
Sean Waltman spoke with WrestleTalk in a new interview discussing the Kliq and Triple H joining them. Check out the video and highlights below:
On what the Kliq saw in Triple H: “Obviously we didn’t predict exactly what would (happen), but immediately it was like ‘let’s gobble him up.’ He was riding with Killer Kowalski every night, who was his teacher. He was trying to be cool to Walter (Kowalski). We were like ‘you gotta drop Walter, you’re coming with us.’ We needed a designated driver anyway.”
On what attracted the group to him: “Level headed, focused. His determination, drive. His learning curve, his aptitude. When he first got there, he was still the student, but the way he soaked up all the knowledge and got better, it was really light years ahead of how most people do it.”

Damien Sandow Comments on Triple H Comparisons
Damien Sandow was asked about his character being similar to Tripe H’s “Hunter Hearst Helmsley” character during an interview with Mike Mooneyham of The Post and Courier.
“We both were trained by Killer Kowalski, but I think if you look at the history of our business, you can draw comparisons to a lot of guys that have come before. There’s the Gorgeous George element and so many other things. I think what makes people successful is just being able to be themselves. Throughout the course of time there’s been so many characters and personas, and there’s going to be comparisons drawn. However I believe I am the first-ever ‘Intellectual Savior of the Masses.’”

Late pro wrestler 'Killer' Kowalski's auction draws interest of Triple H
The estate of wrestling legend Walter “Killer” Kowalski was auctioned off to the highest bidder, Thursday night in Saugus.
Run by TAC Auctions, the five-hour event featured over 300 items of the late grappler’s personal affects, attracting a wide and eclectic group of bidders, ranging from the casual sports fan, to serious sports memorabilia collectors alike.
In the end, however, it was Kowalski’s former student, Triple H, who stole the show.
Bidding online, the WWE Superstar reeled in several big-tickets items, including the crown jewel of the auction, Kowalski’s first-ever wrestling ring robe for $4,250.
The blue velvet robe came complete with Kowalski’s real name ‘Wladek Kowalski’ script in silver sequins on the back. The item proved to be the highest of all the 300 lots sold.
When the online bidder originally checked in, most in attendance had a feeling where it was coming from.
“I’m pretty sure it’s Triple H,” said Richard Byrne, a Malden Tang Soo Do Grandmaster and veteran of the local and international wrestling circuit. “I called him and told him they were doing this. He didn’t know about it. So the [WWE] office called and they said wanted everything that’s wrestling [related].”
Auction organizers confirmed that it was in fact Triple H, also known as Paul Levesque of Nashua, NH.
In addition, Triple H, (also known by the ring name Hunter Hearst Helmsley) purchased a pair of Killer’s blue leather size 14 wrestling boots ($650), an additional blue velvet ring coat ($850), and an awards lot, which included Kowalski’s Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame certificate ($175).
It was a fitting gesture from Triple H; who studied under Kowalski at his Malden wrestling studio in the early days, before reaching superstardom in the sports entertainment business himself.
“Triple H always remembered Walter and always gave him credit,” Byrne said. “He’s a real class act. They’ve got the boots. They’ve got the robe. They’ve got everything. So that’s good.”...More?

Recap of the Killer Kowalski Memorial Wrestling Show
The doors opened at 1:30 pm and the event started at 2. It was standing room only, with almost all chairs filled. The chairs were arranged around the ring in many sections, not just the traditional four sides. There were people of all ages, from young children sitting on their parent’s laps to the very old ones. They were there to honor Killer Kowalski. Speakers included JJ Dillon (former Four Horsemen manager), Ox Baker, Theresa (Kowalski’s widow), and others. While they were speaking, most of the wrestlers and others who were involved in Kowalski’s business stood around the ring, listening quietly.
For the most part, the matches mostly catered to the children in the audience, although "Hurricane" John Walters vs. Idol Stevens and Spike Dudley vs. Justin Credible stood out as more athletic.
During intermission, many of the wrestlers signed autographs and posed for photos *free of charge*. In fact, it was announced that all the wrestlers on the card were performing for free, all to benefit Killer Kowalski's widow.
