...In the final stanza, the man known as Killer was given a champion’s send-off, with his boys paying their respects to a man they honored and respected. Among the boys was Paul Levesque, who left the Triple H moniker at home and served as a pallbearer for a man he loved and respected.
This was the Killer’s final main event, and Levesque did everything he could to be anonymous, staying in the back of the room and out of the limelight. He was there not as a celebrity, just as one of “Walter’s boys.”
“He (Levesque) gave it a lot of dignity and class,” said one attendee. “Walter would have been proud, because he really handled himself like the title suggests. He handled himself as a champion.”...More?

Fan account of the wake and funeral for Killer Kowalski
Triple H showed real class by staying around after the mass and talking to people and old friends. It had been quite a few years since I last saw Triple H and that was when he was wrestling for Walter as Terra Rizing. We spoke and then he says, "Do you still do a newsletter?" I use to hand out my Global Wrestling News zines to the boys at Walter's show...More?

Update on Walter "Killer" Kowalski
From Jamie Jamitkowski of Killer Kowalski's Pro Wrestling School:
In an effort to minimize inaccurate reports about Walter "Killer"
Kowalski, his wife has asked us to send a brief update:
Initial reports by Georgiann Makropolous were correct in that Walter did, in fact, have a heart attack late on Friday. At the time, he was revived, placed on life-support and transferred from the nursing facility to an area hospital. Friday night and Saturday were critical for Walter. As of Saturday evening, Walter was
responsive to those around him, including some visitors from the wrestling industry. He is still being assisted by medical equipment but certain vital signs have improved slightly. The medical staff is hoping that he will continue to stabilize.
Walter is still in serious condition and we can all only hope for continued improvement. His wife believes that his slight improvement is due to the thoughts and prayers that he has been receiving from around the world. She asks that everyone continue to pray for Walter.

Memories of "The Killer"
...Bryan Walsh, who began training under Kowalski in 1983 and worked professionally until 1998, recalls being in total awe of Kowalski when he first met him at his wrestling school office. “He was actually sitting down when I first walked up to him. Then he stood up. I’m looking at this guy, and I said to myself, ‘Wow, that really is Killer Kowalski.’ You don’t expect larger-than-life people to stick their hand out and say hello to you.”
Many other students besides Walsh, Paul Levesque (Triple H) and Joanie Laurer (Chyna) passed through the Killer’s doors. Future stars such as Big John Studd, Perry Saturn, John Kronus, Matt “A-Train” Bloom and Frankie Kazarian are all alumni.
Oddly enough, Laurer makes little mention of Killer in her 2001 autobiography, “If Only They Knew,” even ignoring the fact that her mentor helped pave her way to fame and fortune in Vince McMahon’s WWE.
I once asked Levesque, who at the time was engaged to Laurer, how his significant other could so easily dismiss Killer’s contributions to her career. “I can’t figure it out,” he said. “But I know one thing. I can tell you that Walter is a great guy.”...More?

Update on Walter "Killer" Kowalski
For the past few years, Walter has been an active part of Killer Kowalski's Pro Wrestling School and the Chaotic Training Center. He has been present at nearly every Saturday class and helped us host classes with Dr. Tom Prichard, Charlie Haas, Tommy Dreamer and others. He has continued to be a great resource for all of our new and experienced students.
In mid-March, Walter experienced a situation where he was, in fact, admitted to a local hospital for treatment on his knees. Since that time, Walter has spent time at home, in the hospital and at rehabilitation centers in order to improve the condition of his knees. Currently, Walter, his doctors and his family are determining the best course of action for Walter - rehabilitation, surgery, continued rest or a combination of these treatments.
Walter is fully coherent with the hopes of a recovery soon. While his knees are hurting, his spirit and energy are as strong as ever. He has been joking with the nurses and aides in recent weeks, showing them the famous (or infamous) Killer Kowalski personality...More?
