Monday's WWE RAW, the go-home episode for Sunday's Money In the Bank pay-per-view, drew 2.97 million viewers. This is down 9% from last week's 3.255 million viewers. The show faced stiff competition from Game 5 of the NBA finals.

Rumor Mill - What Happened with Triple H & Mysterio When His WWE Deal Expired, More on Rey's Status

Rey Mysterio was essentially forced to stay under contract with WWE for one more year due to a clause in WWE contracts that allows the company to extend a contract if their performers miss a certain amount of time due to injuries.

When Rey's WWE contract expired this year, he reportedly told Triple H that he was not interested in renewing the deal. The two reportedly had a handshake agreement that WWE and Rey would go their separate ways.

Vince McMahon then had Mark Carrano from Talent Relations call Rey to inform him that they were renewing his deal for one more year based on that clause.

Rey is still out of action with a hand injury and has not appeared for them since January. With him living in California, there was some talk last week of bringing him to SummerSlam for media appearances but that obviously did not happen, possibly because WWE didn't want the questions about his status coming up.

AW Reveals Why He Got Fired From WWE

Brian Jossie, known to WWE fans as A.W., spoke to CTPost in Connecticut and revealed why WWE fired him.

He said it was a tweet he made about Linda McMahon that caused his release. The tweet in question was:

"#AWPromotion$ says vote for Linda McMahon!!! The PTP'z support Linda and so should you! #voteordie4Linda"

He went on to say,

"That's how they show support for their employees who want to support Linda. They fire them. That's complete bull(expletive)."

Jossie made the remark on Twitter and then a WWE spokesperson released a statement that "WWE is a non-partisan organization. Superstars as well as employees are free to support any political party or candidate they choose."

The former WWE talent didn't know that making mention of Linda McMahon's campaign was off limits.

"For some reason they don't want to associate [Linda] with anything to do with wrestling because it's in the past. Vince doesn't want any association with her campaign. They told me it's two totally different entities, which I didn't know. I thought I was doing a good thing."

While the comments about Kobe Bryant grabbed attention, he says he could have said worse and nothing would have happened to him because WWE has a history of edgy content

"If I had made a Jerry Sandusky or a Colorado shooting joke, okay, fire me right there,"

"WWE put a convicted rapist in the Hall of Fame (referring to Mike Tyson)."

Jossie made clear his feelings on WWE when he said,

"I don't hate the WWE. I love the company. But the way the politics are with her campaign, it screwed me."

Abraham Washington Released By WWE, Goes On Twitter Rant Ripping The Company

From WWE.com:

WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar A.W. as of today, August 10, 2012. WWE wishes A.W. the best in all his future endeavors.

Abraham Washington via Twitter minutes ago:

"AWPromotions is no more ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for your support and hate, it's been a great run. Now I get to do me which isn't PG!

@TitusONeilWWE & @DarrenYoungWWE thank you for allowing me to speak on your behalf. You guys are the best and I'm glad to call u my friends!

I've offended the wrong people that taught me how to have ATTITUDE It was the #WWE that made me bold and now it has turned it's back on me

Let this be a lesson to up and coming talent in the WWE don't try and be great like the Rock or Stone Cold. WWE isn't the same...

Just be normal shut up and be a yes man so you can collect your check and feel like your special. #SELLOUTS!!

I remember a time when the WWE didn't care about breaking the mold but now everyone is so afraid of their own shadow. #RemeberTheFans

Thanks to the fans who showed me support over the whole Kobe thing and to those I upset I apologize again. Remember It's entertainment folks"

A.W. then indicates that his termination is tied to WWE chief Vince McMahon’s wife Linda’s pursuit of a United States Senate seat in Connecticut, which many have speculated has led the sports-entertainment organization to steer clear of any controversial matters as to not attract negative press to the campaign.

“I really do hope Linda wins that election because If not then all of this BS has been for nothing. #GoLinda!!” he wrote.

During a live WWE Raw broadcast on July 30, 2012, A.W. made a crass joke referencing NBA player Kobe Bryant’s sexual assault case in 2003 and 2004. As client Titus O’Neil tangled with Kofi Kingston in a singles match, A.W. yelled from ringside, “Titus O’Neil is like Kobe Bryant at a hotel in Colorado hotel room. He’s unstoppable!!” When Raw returned from commercial break following the bout, WWE apologized on-air via announcer Michael Cole and A.W. subsequently issued an apology via Twitter, noting that “there was no malicious intent behind the joke.” After Raw, WWE issued an official apology via TMZ.com stating that they had “taken appropriate action in the matter.”

Prior to joining the main roster this spring, A.W. was a fixture on the final episodes of ECW on Syfy with an in-ring interview segment called “The Abraham Washington Show.” He had been under contract to WWE since 2009, where he also performed for developmental promotion Florida Championship Wrestling.

Washington noted on Twitter that he would doing stand-up comedy going forward, remarking, “If you think that Kobe joke was bad wait till you hear my Vince jokes.”

A rep for the WWE tells TMZ...."Unfortunately, Brian Jossie, playing the character of A.W. was terminated because he continued to exhibit poor judgment by making offensive and inappropriate comments on live television and on social media."

More Speculation on the Raw GM

Kevin Eck of The Baltimore Sun speculates on the identity of the Raw GM:

The best guess I have seen yet came from a reader named Nathan, who posted the following comment on Sunday:

“ … it’s Abraham Washington...he's aligned with Nexus. Former [Florida Championship Wrestling] GM...knows all the FCW talent...motivation from ECW being cancelled...It's time for the Abraham Washington Show.”

Bingo.

Not only does Washington as the GM make sense in the story line, but there were reports that Washington was strongly considered for the GM role last month before WWE decided on Hart.

For fans hoping for a big name, Washington no doubt would be a letdown, but I think he’d be a fine choice. While “The Abraham Washington Show” segments on ECW were hit or miss, Washington clearly demonstrated that he has the gift of gab, and from what I’ve read, he did a good job as GM in FCW.

Plus, if Washington gets the gig, perhaps WWE could bring back Tony Atlas as his assistant. Now that would be entertaining.

ECW Results: Dominant Farewell

The WWE Universe bid an emotional, historic farewell to ECW on Syfy from the Sprint Center Arena Tuesday night. But as WWE closes the door on the Land of the Extreme, we’ll soon say hello to the new evolution of reality television with the debut of WWE NXT.

It took Ezekiel Jackson months, but The Guyanese Goliath and his mentor, William Regal, finally accomplished what they set out to achieve on ECW on Syfy – total domination. In the final ECW match, Big Zeke conquered ECW Champion Christian under Extreme Rules, becoming the last Superstar to ever hold the ECW Title. Full results.

Abraham Washington - Better on FCW

Hopefully WWE Creative will let Abraham Washington's character be more like it was in FCW (video on the left). I think if he had guests with more charisma than The Bella Twins, the segment would have come off better.

Information on New ECW Superstars

Yoshi Tatsu, is Naofumi Yamamoto, 32. He's been wrestling since 2002 and has worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling in the past. He's been under contract to WWE since September and had been working under the name Yoshitatsu in Florida Championship Wrestling. In perhaps a first for a developmental talent, the Associated Press put out an article regarding his signing at the time, played up as WWE expanding its global horizons with the acquisition of a wrestler from Japan. He defeated Shelton Benjamin in his ECW debut.

Last night's episode of ECW also saw the debut Abraham Washington, who debuted with his self-titled talk show, "The Abraham Washington Show." The special guests for his inaugural show were none other than the newest Divas of ECW – Nikki and Brie Bella. In a takeoff of United States President Barack Obama, he has been working in Florida Championship Wrestling as the developmental promotion's general manager, Abraham Saddam (later Obama) Washington. Washington's real name is Brian Jossie and he is a product of WWE's former developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. He was among several talents signed to developmental contracts by John Laurinaitis following a talent evaluation session last September.

Sheamus is Irish wrestler Sheamus O'Shaunessy. Sheamus, whose real name is Stephen Farrelly, got his start in wrestling at Larry Sharpe's Monster Factory wrestling school in 2002. He headed back overseas and worked regularly in Ireland before signing a developmental contract with WWE in April 2007. Farrelly has worked numerous dark matches and live events for the Raw brand in recent months. While in developmental, he was FCW Florida Heavyweight Champion, defeating Jake Hagar (a/k/a Jack Swagger) for the title on September 18, 2008. Sheamus beat local competitor Oliver John in his ECW debut.

Last night's show also saw the debut of a dreadlocked California surfer wrestler by the name of Tyler Reks in a backstage segment with Zack Ryder. He will be making his WWE in-ring debut on this week's episode of WWE Superstars against the Long Island native. Reks, whose real name is Gabriel Tuft, is a product of Rick Bassman's Ultimate Pro Wrestling. He was signed to a developmental contract by WWE in February 2008, just a year after he started wrestling. Reks currently reigns as the Florida Heavyweight Champion, having defeated Drew McIntyre on June 11, 2009. Reks also holds another title in the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship, alongside Johnny Curtis.
