Rumor Mill - Backstage Reaction at Raw to Jeff & Matt Hardy Video
WrestleZone is reporting that the discussion among several Raw and Smackdown wrestlers tonight in Philadelphia was in regards to the Jeff and Matt Hardy video that made the rounds last week, in which Jeff blasted CM Punk and a rather tired looking Matt Hardy was mumbling something about Amy Dumas aka Lita, who has dated both Matt and Punk in the past.
Besides the obvious discussion about the apparent condition of the Hardys in the video, the talk backstage was about how TNA has former heart throb Jeff Hardy as champion, only to have him play supporting player to Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff, while on Raw, Miz is already positioned as a champion, and defended the title tonight in an excellent match against Jerry Lawler, carrying the 61 year old Lawler through a Tables Ladders and Chairs Match, without giving away a match on television people would pay to see the new champion in (Orton, Cena, Kofi, HHH).
The talk was not only about how bad the Hardys came off in the video, but how much better WWE has done with Miz in just one week as champion than TNA has done in turning the hottest wrestling pay per view attraction of 2009 into a heel champion in 2010.
In case you missed it, you can check out all the details and watch the Jeff/Matt Hardy video here.

WWE Pushes Back Plans For "WWE Network" To 2012-2013
World Wrestling Entertainment Inc plans to launch a cable TV network featuring its hulking wrestlers and scripted storylines in mid-2012 or early 2013, later than it had previously hoped, a top executive said on Tuesday.
WWE Chairman and Chief Executive Vince McMahon said in February that he hoped to have a network up and running in 18 months, implying August 2011.
However, Chief Operating Officer Donna Goldsmith said on Tuesday that it would likely be a year or two beyond that date.
"It's taken us longer to galvanize the troops and figure out where we're going," she said at the Reuters Global Media Summit. "My guess is more like the middle of 2012 or even the beginning of 2013 before we're ready to go forward."
Goldsmith said she had not yet spoken to potential advertisers, saying she wanted first to work out details related to programming.
She also reiterated that WWE is leaning toward a network model similar to that instituted by Major League Baseball, where several pay-TV operators own a stake in the venture. That decision has not yet been finalized, she added.
Beyond the launch of the network, Goldsmith said priorities also included international expansion, including building WWE's presence in spots like Brazil, India and Russia.

Raw Results: All Hail, No!
In the first defense of his new title, WWE Champion The Miz faced Jerry “The King” Lawler in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match. Although the two exchanged heated words earlier in the evening, once inside the ring, they let their actions do the talking.
Unfortunately for Lawler, Alex Riley would also have a say. The Miz's assistant attempted to intervene, but "The King" fought him off. Later, Michael Cole would also interfere in the dangerous duel when he sensed the WWE Champion might lose. The Miz acolyte halted Lawler's ascent up a ladder, costing him the bout and allowing The "Cleveland Screamer" to bask in the glory of his first successful title defense. Full results.

Update on Batista's First MMA Fight; Strikeforce CEO Announces Target Date in 2011
Former WWE star Dave Bautista is expected to make his MMA debut for the Strikeforce promotion in second quarter 2011.
Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said on today's MMA Hour talk show with Ariel Helwani that "there's still dialogue" with Bautista, but they expect him to be fighting for Strikeforce between April and June of next year.
Bautista, age 41, left WWE in the spring of this year and began training for a potential MMA cross-over. Bautista reportedly wants a three-fight deal with Strikeforce.
In October, Bautista said his first MMA fight could be in March 2011. It appears the target date has been pushed back one-to-three months.
Coker was on the MMA Hour today promoting this Saturday's Strikeforce fight card that will be airing on Showtime from St. Louis.

Interview with Shelton Benjamin
Former WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin recently spoke with Blackvoices.com:
Why did WWE let you go?
Honestly, I'm still wondering that myself. What I think it boils down to is that I'd been there for so long and they had such high hopes for me. For me to continue in the position that I was in I would have gotten to the point where family would have lost faith in me. I think while I'm still young every now and then you need to completely disassociate yourself from the company to freshen yourself up. It would be one thing for me to say I am gonna leave and take three months off and when I come back I'll be fresh and new, but it's a total other thing to disassociate yourself from the company completely. The point that they didn't resign me doesn't really bother me because I felt like I needed to go and near the end of my career work for me wasn't fun. I remember when I first started I could not wait to get to work. Near the end, I couldn't stand when I had to wake up and go to the airport. It was one of those things where we were both in agreement that I needed to step away. Do I believe that's a permanent departure? No. If you have watched the history of the WWE or if you have ever worked there and you were ever any good; you don't have just one run with the WWE. The door is open for me to come back. We parted ways on good terms, but as far as a lot of the decisions they made with my career, I'm still dumbfounded...More?

Update on WWE Tough Enough
Indy women's wrestler Annie Social announced on Twitter that she has applied to be on WWE's Tough Enough. Annie has held the tag team titles for Women's Extreme Wrestling and Women Superstars Uncensored.
Another wrestler who has applied to be on the show is former Michigan State football player Kyle Rasmussen. Rasmussen was signed by WWE to a developmental deal in 2009 and was recently released from the company. Rasmussen confirmed to a fansite that he's already looking at getting back with WWE.
As of this writing, about 120 indy wrestlers, fans and aspiring reality TV stars have applied to be on the show. The casting call ends on January 22nd, 2011 so that gives us an idea of when the show will begin filming and when it may air on TV.

I thank GOD Vince gave me a chance, but any talent won’t be is HUGE as we were. I’m not trying to benefit TNA. I love TNA. But WWE needs upper talent. I hope they do it, but when I was in WWE, the talent was incredible. Rey Mysterio, Cena and Orton picked up the slack. But is WWE like it was? TNA has Awesome talent. I Pray we can compete up against the Monster WWE someday. I will do my very best. I loved WWE when I was there-but TNA is better for me. I Pray we both succeed incredibly. WWE is planning to have John Cena appear on RAW, billed as his Mexican cousin "Juan Cena."

WWE Superstars Results: Girl Power
Two of SmackDown’s most promising young Superstars, Trent Barreta and Curt Hawkins are no strangers to one another — both trained together in the same gym for WWE and have locked up in both tag and singles action many times before. This familiarity lent itself to an exciting back-and-forth contest tonight as each competitor seemed to know what their opponent was going to do before they did it. But Barreta finally took Hawkins by surprise when he nailed him with a devastating springboard DDT to earn a very well-deserved victory. Full results.

Why WWE Was Able To Use Their Old Logo On Raw?
For those who have asked about the legality of WWE using the old block WWF logo on Old School Raw Monday night, the answer is that the company is only prohibited from using the Attitude Era scratch logo.
As the result of losing a court battle with the World Wildlife Fund eight years ago, the wrestling company was no longer permitted to use the scratch logo or the WWF initials (hence the name change to WWE).
However, the block WWF logo – which the company was no longer using at the time of the legal dispute – and the “World Wrestling Federation” name can be used by WWE when referencing history.

Goldberg Responds to Recent WWE Hall of Fame Comments
A few days ago Shawn Michaels and Triple H were all over TV in Atlanta hyping up the Wrestlemania 27 tickets and one particular topic for discussion during an interview with Triple H was the rumor of Goldberg being inducted into the next class of WWE Hall of Fame. Triple H said that Goldberg is trying to get into the Hall of Fame and if there are any rumors about a Goldberg comeback, "he probably started it." The issue of Goldberg came up when Triple H was asked about his favorite opponents and mentioned guys like Goldberg who were his least favorite. He then brought up the fact that Goldberg hasn't wrestled much to be even considered Hall of Fame material. Using Twitter, the former WCW and World Heavyweight champion Goldberg replied to Triple H's remarks. "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion," he wrote. "They do have a point if induction is based on tenure."

Rumor Mill - TNA Now Serious About Concussions
WrestleZone has confirmed through several sources that TNA President Dixie Carter has had at least one conversation with Chris Nowinski, who as many of you know founded the Sports Legacy Institute, an organization that has teamed up with Boston University School of Medicine to research the long-term effects of concussions.
Currently, over 100 professional athletes have donated or pledged to donate, after death, their brains to the organization for use in their research, including soccer player Cindy Parlow and Ravens offensive lineman Matt Birk.
Tonight, several wrestlers at the TNA iMPACT tapings in Orlando confirmed to WrestleZone that the word going around was that Dixie herself pulled Ken Anderson from his scheduled match against Jeff Hardy in Nashville over the weekend because Anderson's doctor warned he wasn't "100 percent healed" from his head trauma yet.
Apparently, after a discussion with Nowinski, the TNA President has ordered the creative staff to be more judicious with head shots that are scripted into the shows.

SBN ATL Interviews Shawn Michaels And Triple H On Sports And Wrestling
Triple H ripped TNA's Hulk Hogan related to Hogan using the WWE Hall of Fame as part of a storyline in TNA earlier this year. Hunter claimed he "heard" about the storyline.
"As far as the Hall of Fame goes, it's tough. We have a unique business, and we try to do a legitimate Hall of Fame. We try to honor the guys that deserve it. To the guys that go in, it's something special," Hunter said. "I heard Hogan shit on it, but I don't think anything's special to him except for money."
Hunter and Michaels also downplayed the possibility of Bill Goldberg being invited to the Hall of Fame ceremony next year, which will be held in Goldberg's home territory of Atlanta.
Hunter said: "Bill's trying to get into the Hall of Fame. If there's a rumor about him coming back, he probably started it. I've not seen any mention of his name."
Michaels chimed in: "You want to move on into the future. It's tough to not go back and get some big-name guys here and there, but I don't know about any of the older WCW guys. It might be good for a one-shot deal but where do you go from there? As a company, you're trying to move into the future. It'd be like bringing Michael Jordan back."
Hunter added later: "When you say, 'What about Goldberg?,' no offense to Bill, but you've got guys like Bruno Sammartino that were legends with longevity that should be in there, but they're holding out because they think they've got one more run. Just using Bill as an example, how many years did he wrestle? Not many."
Michaels chimed in again: "To me, he's not even in the ballpark. Not because he's not talented, but greatness doesn't happen in a few years. Greatness is established over a long period of time. We try to promote people and get them over, but you can't do it that quickly."
Regarding their WWE futures, Hunter said he's still rehabbing and hinted he'll be ready to return at the beginning of 2011. Michaels said he might consider working behind-the-scenes creatively if he gets bored of hunting.
"Got another couple months rehab-wise. I don't know how regularly I'll be back. We made a pact that if one of us didn't recognize it's time to quit, we'd tell the other one it's time," Hunter said. "It's a young man's business, and I'm cool with that. I have fun working with the other side of the business, and I don't kill animals or follow sports."
Michaels added: "Once you kill something, you'll be hooked. No, I miss the creative process, and eventually I'm sure I'll get tired of taking life in the woods."

WWF held the Survivor Series in Detroit, Michigan at the Joe Louis Arena. WWF faced a lot of criticism for running an angle on the PPV where Steve Austin was hit by a car, resulting in him being unable to wrestle in the main event against Triple H and The Rock. WWF knew in advance that the injured Austin would be unable to wrestle, but waited until after the PPV began (and fans had already purchased the event) before running the angle and creating a storyline reason for his absence. Big Show (subbing for Steve Austin) defeated Triple H and The Rock in a Triple Threat match to win the WWF World Title.

Sean Waltman Comments on Chyna, Triple H & Stephanie
From Monday Night Mayhem DVD Review: "YouShoot: Sean Waltman":
How did the Chyna/Triple H/Stephanie McMahon love triangle come about?
Waltman used to ride with Chyna & HHH until their arguments made him uncomfortable. The typically reserved Triple H started referring to the psychotic nature of Chyna, which eventually led him to Steph. Pac feels that HHH is the perfect guy for Stepanie & the McMahon family, since he has a relatively spotless past and doesn't have any emotional baggage or drug problems.
