With a Unified Tag Team Title opportunity on the line, two of ECW’s finest tandems brought everything they had to the ring on one of the Land of the Extreme’s final nights. While the video-game playing team of Caylen Croft & Trent Barreta impressed, the young duo ultimately fell to the unique pairing of Yoshi Tatsu & Goldust. New Name of ECW

According to pwinsider.com, the ECW on SyFy series will go forward as a brand under the name WWE NXT, with NXT standing for "Next Generation."

Apparently the show will be built around an entirely new cast of characters with the idea that WWE fans can see these characters develop and debut only on SyFy. Expect a lot of talents from WWE developmental to be called up. More details on the new WWE show should be made clear tonight.

So happy to be done with ECW. I never liked the original show and since the "new version" already features new talent, it needed to be changed.

WWE Supershow Results - Macon, GA

DX and Kofi defeated Orton, Rhodes and DiBiase as all 3 got to hit their finishers. Crowd was really into Michaels and HHH. At one point in the match members of the Legacy all got their trunks pulled down for an impromptu "moon over Macon".

All in all it was a solid show. Better than the one I saw in Columbus about 2.5 years ago. Michaels and HHH did a great job of shaking hands with the fans and high fiving everyone. Good mic work by Tyler Reks, The Miz, and Sheamus as they attempted to generate some animosity from the fans...More?

ECW Results: Road to Domination

After William Regal introduced the WWE Universe to the Superstar he called the next ECW Champion – Ezekiel Jackson – the No. 1 contender warned Christian that he’s certain he’ll win the ECW Title at Sunday’s Royal Rumble. Christian said he’s defended his ECW Championship against many different contenders, from All-American Americans to ECW Originals, allowing him to adapt to facing anyone and everyone.

But Tuesday night even when Christian teamed with former ECW Champion Kane, Captain Charisma once again fell short to the Guyanese Goliath. With the help of Regal, Big Zeke squashed his Royal Rumble opponent, just as he has for the past several weeks. Full results.

ECW Results: Royal Domination

Captain Charisma earned his second win against The British Brawler in just six days. But this week on ECW on Syfy, Christian defeated Regal by disqualification when the gargantuan No. 1 contender Ezekiel Jackson became involved in the match. The ECW Champion never had a chance to have a victory celebration, as Regal and Jackson double-teamed him with a devastating, brutal attack, leaving him helpless in the ring...More?

WWE Superstars Results: New Year's Brawl

On ECW Yoshi Tatsu has proven himself to be one of the brand’s most promising young stars, catching the attention of ECW Champion Christian and the WWE Universe alike. But recently The Land of the Extreme has been host to an equally impressive tag team in the form of Caylen Croft & Trent Barreta. In his first singles outing, Croft went head-to-head with Tatsu on “WWE Superstars.” To the dismay of Croft’s partner Baretta and the delight of Tatsu’s associate Goldust, the Japanese sensation pinned his opponent for the win. ECW Results: Straightedge Homecoming

SmackDown’s straightedge savior, CM Punk, who earlier in the night promised Christian he’d be challenging him to become the Straightedge ECW Champion, met fellow former ECW Champion, Mark Henry. The World’s Strongest Man seemed to feed off Punk’s kick-fueled attack with his offensive domination. But when Punk distracted the WWE official, his associate, Luke Gallows, kicked Henry in the head. Then, Punk capitalized with two more kicks to the head, knocking Henry to the ground and pinning him for the win. Punk moves on in the ECW Homecoming, but will he be the one to challenge Christian for the ECW Title at Royal Rumble? Full results.

ECW Results: An Original Goodbye

Tired of listening to taunts from Zack Ryder, Tommy Dreamer vowed that if he couldn’t defeat Ryder Tuesday night, he’d leave ECW forever, a strong statement from a Superstar who joined ECW in 1993. With all of his heart, soul and strength, Dreamer – a former two-time ECW Champion – fought the cocky youngster from Long Island, N.Y., but ultimately lost the night his career was on the line.

After a DDT from Dreamer, Ryder snuck his leg under the rope, stopping WWE Official Scott Armstrong’s three-count. Ryder was lucky to find himself in the right place at the right time. Moments later, Ryder countered Dreamer’s back suplex and pinned him, sealing the ECW Original’s fate.

Dreamer’s initial shock turned into emotion as he addressed the WWE Universe, recalling his first time in the Izod Center years ago, watching his second-ever WWE event – featuring a live Piper’s Pit – with his best friend and his father.

“This has been my dream since I was 9 years old and I think it totally proves if you have passion for what you do, you can make it anywhere. And I made it in ECW and I made it in WWE,” he said.

Dreamer went on to thank the old and the new ECW, and told the WWE Universe they are his family – a family he’ll miss.

“Thank you so much. I love you all so much,” he said, shedding a few tears.

With the loss, Dreamer – the final ECW Original on the WWE roster – left Tuesday nights, leaving his prized ECW T-shirt in the ring. Amid “E-C-Dub” chants from the WWE Universe, Dreamer paused to hug his wife at ringside and carried his daughters up the ramp as he said goodbye to the Land of the Extreme one final time. ECW Results: Losing his Swagger

Former ECW Champion Jack Swagger returned to the Land of the Extreme Tuesday night to participate in the ECW Homecoming. “The All-American American” took on one of ECW’s newest and brightest stars, Yoshi Tatsu.

Despite Swagger’s strong, and dominating effort, he fell to a final buzzsaw kick by the Japanese Superstar, and returns to Raw without a future chance to reclaim the ECW Championship. The exciting young Tatsu celebrated his monumental victory and has qualified for the Homecoming Finale along with Kane, Vance Archer and Ezekiel Jackson, the latter who faces Vladimir Kozlov on “WWE Superstars” Thursday night. Full results.
