J.R. comments on the WWE title match at SummerSlam

"The WWE Title bout far exceeded my expectations. HHH wrestled a smart match and prooved again why he is the WWE Champion. Khali is an unique opponent and the match was better than many expected all things considered."

SmackDown House Show Highlights - Rockford, IL

John Cena, CM Punk, and Triple H vs. JBL, the Great Khali, and William Regal.

Punk out first to a huge pop when Chimmell announced he was from Chicago, Illinois. Then out comes Cena to a louder pop yet, and the loudest pop of the night for HHH. Not quite sure how Regal got into this match. Cena and Punk each get beat down until HHH comes in. Finish seems Cena and HHH hitting their signature moves, and HHH covering Regal for the win...More?

Kaliqo's SummerSlam Predictions, Pick's & Speculations

Undertaker vs. Edge in a Hell in the Cell Match
Not much I can say about this one. This is definitely one to record. Edge is so over as a heel, I would like to see him win this one. If he does, I'm sure he will have some help.

John Cena vs. Batista
Face versus face? Now would be a good time to turn Cena heel, although I don't think that will ever happen. Have to support the local talent, so I'm going to go with Batista.

JBL vs. CM Punk for the WWE world heavyweight title
Don't like JBL. Don't like CM Punk. Don't care who wins.

Triple H vs. the Great Kahli for the WWE title
Like I said in a previous post, Hunter is going to have to work his ass off to make this match look good. I think Hunter should drop the title to Khali because it is inconceivable that he could beat him, unless a sledgehammer is involved. Rematch at Unforgiven.

MVP vs. Jeff Hardy
This should be another really good match. I would like to see MVP go over Jeff just to get him more over as a heel.

Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy
ECW. Why? What is the purpose of keeping this around? Mark Henry can't move so Matt will have to do all the work. I really don't care, but I do like the new belt.

Kofi Kingston & Mickie James (c's) vs. Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix
Normally I would go with the local talent which in this case would be Mickie James, but I love Santino and Beth Phoenix. I'm really hoping they win.

Shawn Michaels' Announcement
I would love to see Chris Jericho interfere with this and Hunter run in for the save. That could set-up Jericho to interfere in Hunter's match with Khali costing him the match. Jericho and Hunter could then "appear" on each other's shows which would allow Hunter to be on Raw even though he was drafted to SmackDown. As far as Shawn's announcement goes, I don't expect him to go anywhere.

Khali: 1, The Game: 0

With their SummerSlam title match looming, WWE Champion Triple H took on The Great Khali in a risky Indian Broken Glass Arm Wrestling Contest. But before a winner could be determined, the Punjabi Giant head butted the champion and crushed his head with an overpowering Khali Vise Grip. Despite the outcome of this battle, The Game vowed to break both of Khali’s legs at SummerSlam.

Triple H advertised for Georgia Streetfight

Monday night, that should translate into a midsummer's night of roaring, sweaty, body-slamming glory when WWE's traveling colony descends upon the Macon Coliseum. The Georgia Street Fight is coming to town.

At one turnbuckle stands Triple H. In truth, Triple H is Hunter Hearst-Hemsley, a champion who maintains a narrative that parallels the Horatio Alger myth, the no-holds-barred equivalent to the classic rags-to-riches ascent.

His opponent is the exotic Khali the Great. On sheer appearance alone, he is nightmarish, standing more than 7 feet tall and weighing more than 420 pounds...More?

The Great Khali to challenge Triple H at SummerSlam

There were only two people more excited than the Great Khali about his match with Triple H at SummerSlam. The infamous Undertaker vs. Undertaker battle at SummerSlam 1994 is universally regarded as the worst main-event in WWE history. The Undertaker and Brian Lee should send WWE management a cake and flowers after booking the Great Khali vs. Triple H at SummerSlam 2008...More?

Triple H and Big Show def. Umaga and the Great Khali

Triple H got a huge ovation, so did Show. Almost the entire match was Khali and Umaga beating the crap out of Triple H. I don't know if they are trying to give Khali experience against better workers that can make him look better or what, but it was a lot of Khali pounding Triple H. A lot of quick tags by Umaga and Khali.

Show finally got the hot tag, came in cleaned house. Khali finally slowed him down, and after suffering 20 minutes of pure ass whooping it only took The Game about a minute to recover and take a hot tag back from the Big Show. Hunter gave Umaga the Spinebuster, gave Khali the Pedigree, and the match was over.

Worst in-ring performers in the WWE

JBL. I could tolerate his run as a main event guy on Smackdown a few years back, and even though you can easily argue he should never have been elevated to the position, he did a decent job with it. From there, he was great alongside Michael Cole calling Smackdown on a Friday night. But when he returned to the ring and moved over to Raw, his whole act just sucked. Yes we know he can talk on the mic, but ol’ Jumbo Bitchtits Layfield has been awful in the ring.

Chavo Guerrero. Just so dull, so boring, to the point where you have to change the channel when he’s on screen. There’s no charisma, no spectacular moves, no interesting character work to keep you interested, yet unlike a Khali where he’s pushed as a freakshow element where you don’t really expect great matches, Chavo is put in positions on the card where you expect traditionally great workers to be put in there and he just sucks all the air out of the room.

Mike Knox. Trust me, The Great Khali ran him close. However, at least Khali has a selling point (albeit a chokeslam and a headbutt) and although both Khali and Knox are poor, Knox wins it for me. Knox doesn’t have one move worth even remembering. Kelly Kelly’s old boyfriend? He wishes. Get to the indies, or a wrestling school. Now.

Snitsky. He manages to drag anyone - and I mean anyone - down to his quality of working…which isn’t any good.

The Great Khali. Khali remains consistently poor, but during 2008 he has been further dogged by injuries, and has not had the surprisingly entertaining series with John Cena to redeem him somewhat that he had last year.

Frenzied Welcome for India's Own 'Great Khali'

After two hours of swaying to thumping Bollywood neo-folk music and listening to stock stage jokes, the fans grew impatient and began chanting for the star of the evening to show up. "We want Khali! We want Khali!"

And when the Goliath-size professional wrestler of that name appeared on stage in a blue cotton shirt, jeans and ponytail, thousands of hands thrust cellphone cameras into the air to capture the image.

In India, public adulation and hysteria like this is usually reserved for stars of cricket or the film industry known as Bollywood. But Khali has earned his frenzied fame by becoming the Indian icon of American TV wrestling. He is the first man from this country to rise high in the American gladiatorial adventure of World Wrestling Entertainment, winning the world heavyweight championship in July 2007...More?

But he is unlikely to report for duty anytime soon, as he will first fullfil his World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) commitments in Mumbai and Delhi.

Fans waited for hours to get a glimpse of Khali, who was expected to reach his native village Dhirana by May 12 for a month-long stay...More?
