Trish Stratus and Lita Discuss Their WWE RAW Main Event In 2004, Talk Other Career Moments

Fans of TrishStratus.com recently voted for the top 10 moments between Trish Stratus and Lita. The two former Divas then commented on those moments. The #1 moment was their RAW main event in December 2004. Here's what they had to say:

Trish: "We were totally honored when we found out. We had worked our butts off to bring the level of our matches and the interest in our feud to this point, so it was like our hard work had paid off – we worked for that main event spot and we earned it – that felt great! We knew we had a huge responsibility to pull off something great. Thankfully, I have to say, it all came together quite easily for us considering the pressure. We had worked so many matches, we knew each other really well out there and the crowd was totally into it, which always creates a good environment to work in. One thing I do recall was our locker room was filled with a bunch of girls worrying about what to wear and Amy and I looked at each other and laughed because that was the last thing on our minds! I think we both wore the same outfit we wrestled in for the house shows that weekend! I guess what I'm saying is this is one match we knew people would be watching for more than what we were wearing."

Lita: "The timing of that match was great. Trish and I had been featured in the main event prior as a tag with Rocky and HHH, but this time was all ours. We were so thankful to be given the opportunity, but at the same time knew we could step up. We're both people that thrive on some pressure and a good challenge. So, that suicide dive... I remember Headbanger Mosh, or was it Thrasher, it was the one who was Beaver Cleavage, anyway, he was explaining to Trish that she needed to absorb me like a "venetian blind".... clear as day, right? Well let me tell you a Venetian blind at 6 plus feet and 200 plus pounds crumples a lot slower than a tiny Trish. At any rate, it was the most confused I've been after a bump. I had eyes on Trish, my feet didn't get caught on the rope, but when I landed it certainly didn't feel normal. We were on the narrow side of the ring and with her already bumping and having to aim so low it resulted in what I historically refer to as a scorpion bump. I don't recommend this, however, somehow I was totally fine. Watching it back I immediately sit straight up as in a "What the hell just happened, am I paralyzed type of thing?" I quickly realize I am not, but judging by the crowd reaction, it must have looked pretty bad. Good, that means I have an exaggerated 10 count to chill out, be thankful I am okay, and continue to rock Charlotte Coliseum as no two women have before or since."

Rumor Mill - WWE HOF Updates

There are plans to have 1-2 more inductees for the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame class. Ivan Koloff and Kamala's names have been discussed. The company has reached out to at least Kamala about being inducted.

As I noted in the PWInsider Elite section, Bruno Sammartino's induction will headline the ceremony. The company hopes to have Arnold Schwarzenegger induct him, something Bruno intends to talk to Arnold about when he is inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame during the Arnold Classic.

In regards to the other scheduled inductees, it's expected that Terry Funk and/or Jim Ross (possibly both) will induct Mick Foley. The company is considering Maria Menounos for Bob Backlund as the two are friends and obviously, WWE would love for the celebrity rub. Sgt. Slaughter's name has also been brought up for Backlund as has, interestingly enough, Roddy Piper.

In speaking around to those in the company, it was believed Donald Trump would most likely be inducted by a member of his family, possibly Ivanka Trump.

There's no word on Trish Stratus' inductor yet, although as I noted in the Elite section, Lita and/or Dave Finley would make the most sense. They could also go with Edge as they are both from Toronto and were trained by Ron Hutchison at the same school.

CM Punk "Best In The World" Documentary Screening Review

Wrestlezone.com reader Rocky Williams sent in this report:

I attended the CM Punk: Best in the World DVD Screening at the Portage Theater in Chicago last night, and it was a great time for everyone involved. I was in line for a few hours prior with hundreds of other fans, and earlier in the day, Punk bought pizza for the loyal fans waiting in line outside the theater. Awesome stuff right there. The show was scheduled to begin at 7, with doors opening at 5:30. We proceeded inside, received our wristbands, and it was first come, first serve seating with the exception of the reserved seating for Punk's friends/family/media in the middle of the venue. Concessions were being sold just as it was a regular show night, as well.

The curtains opened as they played some WWE video packages as you would see at live shows, with trivia about Punk in between the packages. Pretty cool stuff as the crowd would roar when they showed the correct answer. Fans continued to file in as 7 PM approached, along with many of Punk's family and friends. I sat to the right of the stage, only a few rows back from the front. They had WWE banners draped across the stage, as well. The festivities began with Marty DeRosa, a comedian, and friend of Punk, coming down the aisle and onto the stage to warm up the crowd, to only then introduce Lita! Lita came down to a big ovation, spoke for a moment, then introduced Cliff Compton (Domino of WWE fame). Compton climbed onto one of the chairs and posed with the crowd, and was really excited to be apart of this big night. Compton then introduced Colt Cabana, who requested the loudest Colt Cabana chant ever as he walked to the stage. Cabana delivered some kind words and thanked everyone for coming out, and then introduced his best friend, the man of the hour, CM Punk.

Punk was followed by a WWE camera crew as they seem to document him for a majority of the night. Punk got on stage and admitted he forgot most of his intro but it was pretty surreal for him to be in this situation watching his own story inside a movie theater filled with fans and people who are close to him. Without further ado, they all embraced and exited the stage to allow the movie to begin, but low and behold, a clip of HHH's "Inside Out" was shown on the screen as the crowd booed, and Punk ran back up and screamed "Wrong clip, wrong clip!" Pretty funny moment. Punk said last July he promised everyone 2 things, "ice cream bars...and CM Punk: The Movie, so here's CM Punk: The Movie." Punk once again exited the stage, and the actual movie began to play. Punk sat down a few rows back in the middle/reserved section. Punk sat down next to Lita, Cabana, Compton, and DeRosa. Also, sitting a row in front of in the Punk in the "reserved" section was Frank the WWE Clown, Punk's sisters and brother, Punk's mom, Natalie Slater (Bake and Destroy), Jill Thompson, Armando Estrada, and other friends/family of the WWE Champion. It was a who's who of Chicago and the wrestling scene.

WWE's Infamous Love Triangles

It's the season - and day - of love. However, while you're eating chocolates or smelling the roses your "boo" may have gotten you for Valentine's Day, Eve may be wondering just what she gotten herself into at Raw SuperShow between Zack Ryder and John Cena. It's like "Twilight" between the ropes, and we're afraid of vampires. And Kane.

Eve, though, is not the first WWE Superstar or Diva to be entangled in a love triangle. Oh no, not even close.

Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Kurt Angle
Despite countless denials from both parties, Kurt Angle and Stephanie McMahon had been making eyes at each other for months, catching the ire of her husband, Triple H. Hey, here's a thought: if you're married to The Cerebral Assassin, why not make him more jealous by managing the guy you've been staring at and cause drama at every single turn? Check. Mate...More?

Edge, Big Show and Vickie Guerrero
Christian, Trish and Chris Jericho

Top 10 Wrestling Couples

1. Randy Savage & Miss Elizabeth

2. Triple H & Stephanie McMahon: The McMahon-Helmsley Era was a glorious one indeed. The couple’s reign in the WWF, which spanned the latter part of 1999 through 2000, was the main story line during a time when the WWF was at its peak both creatively and in popularity...More?

3. Edge & Lita

4. Edge & Vickie Guerrero

5. Tully Blanchard & Baby Doll

6. “Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin & Precious

7. Triple H & Chyna: A facet of Triple H’s Connecticut-snob gimmick in 1995 was that he would always come to the ring accompanied by beautiful women. Two years later, Triple H settled on having just one woman by his side, and she looked nothing like the fashion-model types he had previously been hanging out with...More?
