"They should send the guys to jail," Cena said in an interview with Jim Moore of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer prior to Sunday's No Way Out PPV. "I'm not only a guy who will say I'm clean, but I'll beat my chest to the world that I'm clean."

Gov. Ventura: Where is MLB Commissioner Selig's indictment?

Former Minn. Gov. Jesse Ventura says he wonders why the federal government has not indicted Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig after 104 players tested positive for steroids in 2003.

"In the early '90s, the federal government came into pro wrestling and tried to put Vince McMahon in prison for steroid use of wrestlers. My question is: They've now determined 104 baseball players failed their steroid test in 2003 - 104. They indicted Vince McMahon, why aren't they indicting Bud Selig?" Ventura asked. "He's the head of baseball, it happened on his watch."...More?

A-Rod tested positive for steroids in '03

Sports Illustrated says in a story posted on its web site that the New York Yankees star tested positive for two anabolic steroids. SI cited four unidentified sources.

SI reports that Rodriguez's name appears on a list of 104 players who tested positive for performance-enhancers in a 2003 baseball survey.

MLB's drug policy has prohibited the use of steroids without a valid prescription since 1991, but there were no penalties for a positive test in 2003. The results of the survey testing were meant to be anonymous under an agreement between the commissioner's office and the players association...More?

Roddy Piper Surprises Mickey Rourke on Jimmy Kimmel

Roddy Piper was introduced as a surprise guest during Mickey Rourke's interview on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Wednesday. Piper praised The Wrestler and said he cried while attending the premier because the movie hit home. Piper has become a semi-regular on the show since he did the bit with Cousin Sal. They also showed footage of Piper applying the sleeper hold to one of Kimmel's friends.

The subject of steroids came up again during Rourke's interview and he didn't deny taking them for his role as Randy "The Ram" Robinson. He also told a story about director Darren Aronofsky telling him that he would be required to cut himself while filming. He said Aronofsky backed down once they got to that scene, but Rourke took it as a challenge and insisted upon "gigging."

Findings from Congressional Oversight Committee Investigating Steroid/Drug Use in Professional Wrestling

Congressman Henry Waxman took one last dig at professional wrestling before leaving the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. The Committee interviewed Vince McMahon, Linda McMahon and Stephanie McMahon Levesque of the WWE and Dixie Carter of TNA. The conclusion of the Committee states in part:

"The evidence obtained by the Oversight Committee indicates that illegal use of steroids and other drugs in professional wrestling is a serious problem that the wrestling organizations are not effectively addressing. Since the Committee began its investigation last year, both the WWE and the TNA have made efforts to improve their steroid testing programs. But these efforts suffer from a lack of independence and transparency. As a result of these weaknesses, the organizations appear unable to effectively prevent the use of steroids and other illegal drugs by professional wrestlers."

Waxman requests the Committee "examine steroid use in professional wrestling and take appropriate steps to address this problem."

Wrestlers from WWE and TNA have tested positive for steroids and other drugs even after the implementation of the various drug testing programs. You can read the full report here.

News on the WWE Wellness Policy

When the WWE Wellness program started the substances targeted were Anobolic Steroids and illegal drugs. Over time WWE has added numerous other substances to an ever-growing list of banned drugs and substances. In fact now it is not safe for WWE stars to even buy legal suppliments from a GNC store and many of the ingredients found in then are now banned.

For example GNC sells a product called TREN XTREME MUSCLE ACTIVATOR made by American Cellular Labs. The ingredients are 19 mg Norandrosta, 4.9 mg Diene, 3.17 mg Dione. On the WWE banned list are Norandrostenendione & Norandrostenendiol. A WWE star might miss the chemical similarity between Norandrostra and the two banned products, but believe me Norandrostra will show up in a test as a banned substance.

So many WWE stars now don't even risk buying the legal GNC products, as with WWE adding new banned substances with some regularity, the risk is too high. So, one can not assume when a WWE star is suspended that they took anything illegal, as it is as likely what they used came from GNC and was purchased legally.
