Celebrity Justice?

I am so pissed off about that douche bag Paris Hilton being let go. Must be nice to have status and money. The needs of the few out-way the needs of the many. I just hope the next drunk driver she encounters run her off the road.

On a side note, check out the hot City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo!

Twitter Nation: Nobody cares what you’re doing

By Helen A.S. Popkin

Meet Twitter, the new kid in school. This social networking service seems friendly enough, plays well with other technologies, and is totally cool in a geeky sort of way. Like Rivers Cuomo on serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

Twitter invites anyone with a computer to open an account and get their own personal Web page. There, they can upload endless updates on their doings in 140 characters or less. Twitter members can invite friends to join or hook up with new friends via the service and receive instant updates from everyone with whom they choose to connect.

Twitter’s chatty nature and intuitive usability resulted in instant popularity, and soon Twitter was hangin’ in the inner most circle of the tech-savvy in-crowd. So, as anybody who ever went high school could predict, affable Twitter started picking up enemies as well. To quote this now endlessly quoted line from the biggest in-crowder of all, tech blogger Robert Scoble, “Twitter hate is the new black."...More?

The Game Charged in Los Angeles Melee

LOS ANGELES -- The Game was charged Monday with making a criminal threat and possessing a firearm in a school zone, authorities said.

The felony charges against the 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, stemmed from a fight during a Feb. 24 pickup basketball game in South Los Angeles, the district attorney's office said.

The Game says tears were shed when he was feuding with 50 Cent and wondering if he'd get the chance to release a second album. The rapper The Game says tears were shed when he was feuding with 50 Cent and wondering if he'd get the chance to release a second album. The rapper "The Game" was charged Monday June 4, 2007, with making a criminal threat and possessing a firearm in a school zone, authorities said Monday.

Taylor pulled a gun from his red Cadillac Escalade after punching a player on the opposing team and threatened to shoot him, police said.

The hip-hop star was arrested May 11 at his Glendale home by police executing a search warrant and was released on $50,000 bail. He also is charged with exhibiting a firearm in the presence of an officer. Taylor was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Los Angeles. He faces more than five years in state prison if convicted. His attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

This the same person that claims he had the moniker "The Game" before Triple H had it. Apparently Taylor and the WWE are involved in litigation over its use. At this rate, Taylor won't need to worry about who had it first. He'll just be a number when he's locked up.

Open-concept design has city schools stuck in ’70s

Man shot dead for bad singing in Philippine karaoke bar

MANILA (AFP) - A jobless man was shot dead by a security guard for singing out of tune in a Philippine karaoke bar, police said Thursday.

Romy Baligula, 29, was halfway through his song on Tuesday night in a bar in San Mateo town, east of Manila, when 43-year-old security guard Robilito Ortega yelled that he was out of tune. As Baligula ignored his comments and continued singing, Ortega pulled out his revolver and shot him in the chest. Senior Superintendent Felipe Rojas said Baligula died instantly.

The security guard was detained by an off-duty policeman shortly after the shooting.

Deaths and violence are not uncommon in Philippine karaoke bars.

The popular Frank Sinatra song "My Way" has been taken off many karaoke bars in Manila after it was found to be the cause of fights and even deaths when patrons sang out of tune.

Ex-con Tries to Cash in on Greed

Michele A. Fletcher doesn't look like a financially strapped woman only six months out of prison.

She's wearing a sharp black pantsuit. Her hair is perfectly straightened, her makeup carefully applied, her nails French-manicured. A long costume-jewelry cross hangs from her neck. Her prim appearance is as deceiving as the massive credit card scam for which she was convicted.

She's sitting in a bookstore, behind a table covered in slick fliers promoting her self-published novel, "Charge It to the Game," calling it a "remarkable story" and describing the protagonist as "coldblooded and conniving."
Story continues below ↓advertisement

It is a story, she says, based on her life.

The woman who lived the religion of buy-now, pay-never materialism is trying to shape a new identity -- as an author.

Old friends and curious acquaintances show up at this first book signing at the Mall at Prince Georges to see what has become of the Michele Fletcher who resided in the seven-bedroom Mediterranean-style home in Glenn Dale, owned three upscale hair salons and had a loving husband and three beautiful daughters. A picture-perfect family.

Except she and her husband financed that picture with the stolen identities of more than 40,000 people in what area authorities have described as one of the largest local fraud schemes in recent history.

Fletcher wrote her book while doing 2 1/2 years in prison -- six months of that in a halfway house. It is the gritty tale of a headstrong woman who took what she wanted -- in this case, a slew of bodacious jewelry and Manolo Blahniks....More?
