From Professor Wrestling:
I got a letter from a guy this week. A guy who was fed up with yours truly being down on World Wrestling Entertainment. I couldn't deny it. WWE has been terrible lately -- and has gone into a huge tailspin since the horrible Chris Benoit tragedy. What would I do if I were in charge? It comes down to six easy steps. I'm sure you'll agree with each and every one...More?

Professor Wrestling: Quick Fixes for the WWE
One Train Wreck For Another
Eric Bischoff has an excellent post on his blog concerning the washed-up wrestlers that have been dragged off the shelf for interviews:
Lindsay Lohan bumps Joanie Laurer from CNN.
I can’t decide if I’m disappointed or relieved. I mean, my twisted sense of humor and occasional tendency to get a glimpse of the truly bizarre compelled me to momentarily anticipate Joanie Laurer’s appearance on Nancy Grace last night. But the more grounded, rational part of me was relieved that another washed up, scorned, irrelevant, piece of “talent” wasn’t going to be given an opportunity to use the Benoit tragedy to grab their last 3 minutes of camera time. Especially Joanie Lauer. I mean what in the hell would this train wreck have to contribute? It would be like having O.J. Simpson on CNN to discuss the NFL’s responsibility to help prevent spousal abuse!...More?

Congress Asks WWE To Turn Over Drug Testing Records
ESPN.com is reporting that two congressmen have requested that Vince McMahon turn over records pertaining to WWE's drug testing policies. According to the web site, in a three-page letter dated today, Rep. Henry Waxman, the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Tom Davis, its ranking minority member, asked Vince to provide a series of documents so congress can look into WWE's drug-testing policy.
Here are some excerpts from the letter:
"The tragic deaths of World Wrestling Entertainment star Chris Benoit and his family have raised questions about reports of widespread use of steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs by professional wrestlers."
"These allegations -- which include first-hand reports of steroid use by prominent former wrestlers -- have swirled around the WWE for over a decade. Investigations by journalists have described a culture of performance-enhancing drug use in professional wrestling, high fatality rates among young professional wrestlers, and an inability or unwillingness of WWE to address these problems."
"WWE has a responsibility to do everything possible to eliminate the use of performance-enhancing drugs -- or the perception of such use -- by its wrestlers."...More?
