Hogan Attacks Vince and the WWE

Hulk Hogan is featured in an interview with The Sun over in the United Kingdom. Hogan blames the low SummerSlam payout he received as the reason why he did not return to WWE for this year’s WrestleMania and that he is trying to start his own wrestling promotion. He says in the interview that once his promotion gets off of the ground it will beat WWE.

I think the WWE could use some real competition - just to stay fresh, but I think that Hogan would have his wrestlers doing the same tired act over and over just like he does.

WWE Family Fued Update

The first WWE Family Feud episode taped on 8/9 with Divas vs. Superstars featuring Batista, Booker, Flair, Coachman and Kennedy vs. Candice, Layla El, Sharmell, Maria and Michelle McCool. More WWE Family Feud episodes will tape over the next couple of Thursdays. Other talents like John Cena, Kristal and MVP are expected to tape an episode or two.

Update On The Chris Benoit Tragedy

The latest in the investigation is as follows ...

* DNA evidence found near the bodies, including blood, has been sent to an out-of-state laboratory for analysis. Although the GA Bureau of Investigations provides this service for free, since it is assumed that this case is a murder-suicide, the Bureau's resources are being directed to unsolved cases.
* Although the toxicology reports on the three family members were released, the 'official' autopsy reports are still pending. Investigators say the reports may be released any day.
* Investigators have conceded that although steroids were found in Chris Benoit's body, the amount found, would not have been enough to trigger 'roid rage'.

The Return of the King of the Ring

The King of Kings could be heading for a royal confrontation. Triple H, sidelined since January with a torn right quadricep, is likely to return to action on Monday Night RAW ... and it would seem like he's heading for a showdown with a guy wearing a crown, King Booker. To further confuse matters, Jerry (The King) Lawler will be "coronating" King Booker on the show.

It seems likely that the D-Generation X schtick will quietly go away, perhaps for good ... andTriple H will resume his King of Kings gimmick. A lot of wrestling scribes dump on Triple H ... or Mr. Stephanie McMahon.

But forget that the guy is the husband of the boss' daughter. He has plenty of charisma, plenty of talent and he's well spoken. I'm sure he has plenty of "stroke" with his father-in-law ... and he'll likely be a world champ one day soon, but he's a helluva lot more talented than some of the leviathans WWE regularly trots out to the ring.

I think there was a compliment in there...

Women of Bodog Fight Rule MMA Ring

Anyone who says women do not belong in mixed martial arts needs a labotomy. Follow the sport closely and you will see female fighters are often more entertaining than their chromosomal counterparts.

"With the women, it's less about ego and more about fighting," says Bodog Fight commentator Jeff Osborne. "They have fewer opportunitites to showcase their skills, so when they get the chance they tend to lay it all on the line."

As the founder of North America's first all-female MMA promotion 'HOOKnSHOOT', Osborne has seen more women's fights than possibly anyone else on the planet. One of the best, he says, was the recent battle between Carina Damm and Molly Helsel...More?

TNA to Conduct Random Drug Testing

It is being discussed in TNA to begin random drug testing effective in September. It is rumored that the wrestlers will be notified of this new policy at the Hard Justice PPV on Sunday to give the wrestlers 30 days notice. There are concerns how this will effect the talent. Some believe that while TNA is not under investigation at this time, it would present them in a good light despite no allegations of substance abuse in there company specifically.

While the recent news of WWE's Wellness Policy has been being accused of being to relaxed and not as stringent as it could be, TNA is making this move because it affects the Wrestling Business as a whole...More?
