Benoit Prescribed Steroids For Hormonal Disorder, Lawyer Says

A lawyer for Chris Benoit's personal doctor suggested in court papers Monday that the wrestler had a hormone disorder that permitted the amount of steroids he was prescribed before killing his wife, son and himself in June.

Dr. Phil Astin's attorney, Manny Arora, said in a motion to suppress evidence that a federal agent failed to tell a judge who issued search warrants in the case about the legitimate uses of steroids...More?

Hunter as Head Booker

It's snowing in hell because Dave Scherer has said something nice about Hunter:

"While some would say that HHH is already the head booker in WWE, that isn't the case. It's no secret that H grew up a wrestling (as opposed to sports entertainment) fan and he has a healthy respect for the history of the business. It's also no secret that the current WWE product is shaped and influenced by Vince McMahon (and to a lesser degree Kevin Dunn) and as long as Vince is in charge, we probably can't expect things to be much different than they are now. But, Vince will have to step down some day and when he does, I have a lot more faith in HHH being in charge of the booking (especially if he is no longer an active wrestler) than I do his wife Stephanie since she hasn't done much to impress me since taking over as head of creative (and to be fair, she does have to deliver a product that her dad likes, which can be an albatross). I don't ever see the company going back the old days but I could see them incorporating more "wrestling" aspects into the show with H in charge. I think that would be a good thing."

UFC Grapples for Respect

No wonder the competition is afraid to step into the octagon. Ultimate Fighting is beating up on boxing, drawing blood from professional wrestling and even gaining on Nascar. And the sport's not even legal in all 50 states. But Marc Ratner is out to change that as well.

Last year, after serving as the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission for 13 years, Mr. Ratner did something akin to Wyatt Earp joining up with Jesse James: He signed on at Ultimate Fighting Championship as its government-affairs chief.

His mission: Legalize Ultimate Fighting in all 50 states...More?
