Wade Keller recently interviewed Kevin Nash on the fallout of the Benoit tragedy. Here are some of the highlights:
Nash thought that WWE were taking a big chance with the tribute show in case Benoit was involved. He said the decision was made on emotion and not logic and that it was more to help the guys than for a tribute show for the fans.
He said the original drugs testing policy worked very well in the early 90's, stating that you could be tested twice in one day. He attributes his success to being the biggest guy in the company in the 93-96 years who wasn't on steroids.
Nash revealed that he took steroids long before wrestling when he used to get teased for being a weedy basketball player. He said that during wrestling he only took steroids when he blew his knees and quads to aid recovery...More?

American Gladiators
It was recently announced that the series, American Gladiator will be resurrected by NBC. Former WWE star Rico Constantino actually did quite well on Gladiators way before he became a pro wrestler. Years ago, I actually attended the Gladiators tour when it came to Nassau Coliseum and it was actually pretty damn entertaining live. The new version of the show will be adapted from a currently running UK version, will run at least six episodes and feature a reality show like deal following the challengers through their real lives as well as their preparation for the competition, in order to add a new dimension of drama.

UFC must clean own house first
Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White should be commended for his efforts toward trying to rid steroid use in mixed martial arts competition.
But White should wait until all the glass is removed from his own house before starting to throw stones.
Asked by FOXSports.com about his promotion's steroid issues during a news conference to promote Saturday night's "UFC 74: Respect" pay-per-view show, an animated White launched into a tirade about the long-standing problems experienced by other professional sports leagues....More?

Rey Mysterio says he never took steroids
Rey Mysterio made an appearance on Fox News earlier today. Mysterio was asked about steroids and he said he had never taken them. When asked what it would mean if his name was released in an investigation, Mysterio responded saying his name would only be connected to pain medication. He added that wrestlers of today were a "different breed" from their predecessors. Mysterio later said the wrestlers are there to entertain and that is all they do. He quickly plugged SummerSlam this Sunday and said any connection he had to Dr. Phil Astin was for pain medication due to his six different knee operations...More?

Ric Flair Retirement News
It is believed that a Ric Flair retirement storyline is going to start imminently, perhaps in the next few weeks, to culminate at either Royal Rumble, No Way Out or WrestleMania next year. Flair would obviously prefer the latter. Flair, who is 58 years old, has been saying that this was going to be his last year as a regular in-ring competitor.

Storyline Involving Shane, Stephanie & Hunter
The current storyline plan is for Mr. Kennedy to be Mr. McMahon's illegitimate son. It is expected that there will be hints slowly dropped on RAW for several weeks until a three-hour episode in October where Kennedy will be revealed as the son. From there, Shane and Stephanie would get involved in the storyline with Shane facing Kennedy in a match around the Royal Rumble. Stephanie would be a babyface in this situation and HHH would come to her aid, revealing that he is Vince's son-in-law. This would set the stage for a HHH vs. Mr. Kennedy match for WrestleMania 24 with the entire McMahon family involved. Bonnie Hammer of the USA network is said to be a big fan of this storyline. Plans could very well change, but as mentioned before, this is the current direction that WWE is planning to take with the McMahon storyline.

Batista's New Book
Those who have seen Batista's book say it's "insane." It's sure to ruffle a few feathers in the WWE locker room. Batista has said time and time again that he's the most boring guy in the world, which sounds like it would make for a lackluster book, but as it turns out, he talks nonstop about who he hates and does not respect in the locker room in his book. This could very well be major trouble in the making since he's hated by most of the locker room as it is. Batista also gives his thoughts on certain creative decisions WWE has made and more. He also talks "almost recklessly" about the number of women he's slept with. It's said to be totally different from all the other WWE books.

Miscellaneous Wrestling News
WWE got rather encouraging news with this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event rating. The show did a 2.5 metered rating, with is up considerably from the June 2nd SNME which only did a 1.9. While a 2.5 is far less than what the company did in their heyday, a 32% increase will certainly please WWE and the NBC network.
According to Canada.com, Hulk Hogan recently sold his Miami Beach home for $18.9 million. Hogan made a profit on the house as he bought it for $12 million.
Pacman Jones is scheduled to wrestle in two matches for TNA. His first will be at No Surrender - when he and Ron Killings challenge Kurt Angle in a 2-1 match for Angle's TNA tag titles. His other match will be at Bound for Glory on October 14th in Atlanta.
As part of his NFL suspension, Pacman is losing approximately $3 million for the upcoming football season he won't be a part of.
