Ric Flair was on a sports talk show this morning on WFNZ in Charlotte. He said he will be opening a new business in Charlotte this week called Ric Flair Finance. Flair talked a little bit of football before the host asked him if he really quit WWE. Flair kinda laughed at it and said "No, it's not true." and asked what WWE would do without him. He didn't seem too sure of himself but he said he would talk more about everything next week on the same show.

Congress Begins their Witch Hunt Against the WWE
Congress has already began the process of collecting information on pro wrestling. Members of Waxman's committee held a conference call on 8/28 with Konnan and sources say judging from the questions asked, Congress has done their homework on TNA and WWE. Konnan was asked about both promotions, independent contractor status of talents, wrestlers' pay and drug usage among wrestlers, not just steroids either.

Breaking News: Booker T Quits WWE
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that Robert Huffman (King Booker) quit WWE when he was told that he was to be suspended for 60 days, as a punishment to the Signature Pharmacy bust. He was believed to have failed a Wellness Program test before, hence the 60 days suspension instead of 30.
While WWE is still trying to negotiate Huffman's staying with them, they're going on under the impression he's done. The two sides had been having troubles recently, with a major setback being John Laurinaitis' call to go with Florida for a developmental territory - where WWE would start from scratch - instead of going with Booker's already established PWA, which WWE had been loaning wrestlers to. After they made the call to stop that, Booker went to his friends at TNA and booked them for his shows instead, which didn't sit so well with anyone backstage, but they couldn't say much having pulled WWE talent from PWA.
Booker is pretty much set financially and has wanted out of wrestling for a while. At age 42, he's accomplished a lot, and thanks to his hip hop store doing well in Houston, and his two wrestling schools up and running, there's really no need for him to stick around.

Latest on WWE Suspensions
It looks like its safe to say that Santino Marella is off the possible suspensions list. He went on WWE's tour of South Africa and wrestled on the shows. The other Signature Pharmacy clients to go on the tour was Randy Orton. King Booker, Mr. Kennedy, Umaga, Charlie Haas and William Regal didn't go on the tour. A day or two before the drug scandal erupted, there was an article talking about Booker renewing his wedding vows with Sharmell sometime during the tour, so well, something definitely happened between him and WWE. Also, John Cena and Triple H were originally scheduled to wrestle Umaga and King Booker at a WWE house show in Ft Wayne, Indiana on 9/23, but that has since been changed to Cena wrestling the winner of a 15 Man Battle Royal. Triple H will be wrestling Carlito in a singles match. Furthermore, Jeff Hardy is scheduled to defend his Intercontinental Championship belt in a match against Shelton Benjamin on that very same house show. This pretty much confirms Haas' suspension when Shelton is getting a title match all of a sudden.

Ric Flair deserves better than this
For those who missed it, Pro Wrestling Torch broke the news earlier this week that Flair has given his notice to WWE. Flair reportedly was unhappy with his diminished role, and his reasons for leaving had nothing to do with the recent suspensions for wellness policy violations.
One could argue that Flair, 58, should have retired a few years ago, but that’s missing the point. The fact is that whenever Flair was going to stop wrestling full-time — I won’t use the word “retire,” because few wrestlers every completely stop donning the tights — he should have departed with a major story line...More?
