Cena's time might be up

Both of WWE's world-title feuds should reach some sort of conclusion at the ''No Mercy'' pay-per-view Oct. 7. Rumors have been flying that WWE is ready to move the title off John Cena so that they can transition it back to Triple H, so the odds seem to be in Randy Orton's favor in his "last man standing'' match against Cena. I have to think Cena's father, John Sr., will cost his son the title.

WWE Rehab Letter Sent To Over 500 Performers

Newsday has picked up on the WWE rehab letter that was published Friday. Newsday reports that WWE officials say the letter was sent to over 500 wrestlers beginning a week ago. "The decision to do so was made by Vince as a humanitarian gesture, period," WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt said in a statement. "It is not intended to be, nor is it ... an acknowledgment of responsibility for the substance problems of anybody." McDevitt said WWE's gesture "will do no more than help those who want to help themselves but lack the resources to pay for rehabilitation." Former WWE and WCW star Chris Kanyon told Newsday that the effort is "a big turnaround" from McMahon's past attempts to distance WWE from talk of drug problems.

"Sugar" Ray Leonard Puts Over UFC

The following is an excerpt from an interview with boxing legend "Sugar" Ray Leonard from TVWeek.com:

Question: Do you watch Mixed Martial Arts competitions such as the UFC? If so are you a fan?

Sugar Ray Leonard: I do watch it. When I first saw it, I thought it was a bit much, but that was before they were regulated. Now I watch it and I like it.

I think what the UFC in particular has done, is something we haven’t done in a long time and that’s create superstars. Rampage Jackson is a character and a hell of a fighter, and you have other guys who stand out as well. That’s the key to success.

Most people don’t tune in to boxing to watch boxing, there has to be a story, personality, and style to bring in the masses. Of course, you have fans who watch no matter what, but to grow you need to have the package.

Congress ready to rumble over WWE steroids

A dogfighting quarterback, a gambling basketball referee, a steroid cloud hanging over the new home run record and the grisly murder-suicide of a professional wrestler.

With a summer full of sports scandals, it was only a matter of time until some chairman flexed his influence and called for a congressional investigation that will bring sports superstars, and the klieg lights that follow them, to town.

And for now, the target is wrestling...More?

Big Show & Billy Kidman Linked to Steroid Doctor

For two years, a squat, yellow, storefront clinic on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard attracted steady business, promising patients enhanced sex drive, increased energy and an improved sense of well-being.

Proprietor John Todd Miller, known to some as "Dr. Todd," was no doctor. But he says in court papers that his Physician's Wellness Institute illegally dispensed more than $150,000 worth of steroids at a rate of $300 to $2,800 a cycle.

Among the clinic's patients, according to records, were a professional baseball player and a number of professional wrestlers, including Eduardo "Eddie" Guerrero, who died in 2005 at age 38, two years after the clinic was shuttered by investigators...More?
