Triple H vs. Mr. McMahon: A Hellacious Game

The Hatfields and the McCoys. Batman and the Joker. The Donald and Rosie. Some people are just not meant to get along, and Triple H and Mr. McMahon are among them. These two have been at each other’s throats for nearly a decade. Their rivalry has been a game of physical and psychological human chess. Here is a look back at some of the unforgettable moments in their war:

J.R. Comments on Hunter

HHH vs. The Rock had great chemistry and the two had some exceptional bouts over the years. Both were up and coming, both were students of the game, and both were hungry to establish themselves as main event players in the WWE, so the timing of their rivalry was on the money. These two men were two of my finest signees while I was the head of talent relations for the WWE. A few more fortunate hires like this would “cure what ails us” in today’s marketplace.

Professor Wrestling: True Tales

By Professor Wrestling, The Grappling ScholarLast week, I told you my favorite ring memory -- the night I was lucky enough to be a ring announcer for the old WWF at the Duluth Arena. This week, it's your turn. I laid down the gauntlet and asked for a few stories from the class, and you responded nicely. Here's the best of the bunch,

Videos have surfaced online of Batista, King Booker, Jonathan Coachman, Kennedy and Ric Flair taking on Queen Sharmell, Michelle McCool, Brooke, Layla El and Maria. In one clip, Maria basically gives away an answer with one of those "Maria moments."

WWE.com has a tiny, inconsipcous link at the bottom of WWE.com which links to the SAVE_US.222 video.

Triple H/Vince Promo from Raw

Ten worst athletes-turned-entertainers

1) Shaquille O'Neal
2) Joe Namath
3) Mitch Gaylord
4) Magic Johnson
5) Wilt Chamberlain
6) Lyle Alzado
7) Dennis Rodman
8) Brian Bosworth
9) Jack McDowell
10) Hulk Hogan

The Hulkster is a great American success story, except for the part about steroids. But his movie work fell short. There seemed to be some hope for him after he appeared as the fabulous "Thunderlips" in Rocky III, but then came "Suburban Commando" . . . "Thunder in Paradise". . . "Mr. Nanny" . . . "Santa With Muscles" . . . "Muppets from Space" . . . and lots of derisive reviews from the critics.

He is rallying with the reality show "Hogan Knows Best" on VH1. Watching an over-the-hill pro wrestler guide his attractive daughter to Britney Spears-like breakout (without the substance abuse, head-shaving and mom slapping) has made for some decent TV.

Trip-Up Time

...Popular opinion dictates the most polished ear-bender of the present day is Triple H. Married to the boss’s daughter, the 10-time champ cannot shake off the accusations that his political manoeuvres backstage have furthered his career more than the patented Pedigree, or spine-buster ever have.

It’s not that simple if you ask me. As Trip told FT in his first and only British interview in years, he couldn’t give a toss about the tongue-lashing he receives. After all, he was widely regarded as the best wrestler going before he married Steph. But he’s hardly helping himself since he returned from injury at Summerslam...More?

The Game that Never Ends

Why can’t Mr. McMahon and Triple H just get along?

These two have been at each other’s throats on-and-off for eight years now. They have been allies and even in-laws. But for the most part, the Chairman and The Cerebral Assassin have been mortal enemies, playing a never-ending game of one-upmanship – with another round in their duel set to take place in a one-on-one match Monday on Raw.

And though their showdown is days away, Triple H already suggests little will be settled between them on Monday – or maybe ever...More?
