WWE could benefit if writers strike
The threat of a writers strike in Hollywood could be good news for WWE. NBC representatives have said if their shows are unavailable because of a strike, the network would turn to WWE for new programming to fill the open slots. This not only would give WWE much-needed mainstream attention but also would force the creative team to come up with first-rate material.

Wrestling is religion for lucha libre fans
No sneak-attack sucker punches.
No locker room ambushes.
Little if any interference from outside the ropes.
What kind of professional wrestling outfit is this?
"We're the National Wrestling Alliance ... we've been around for over 60 years," David Marquez said. "We put all the action inside the ring. We want the athleticism to tell the story. We put the wrestling first."
Marquez is a veteran in the professional wrestling trade, serving as an executive and producer within the NWA. On Nov. 10, the long-time organization with historic ties to Ric Flair, Sting and Harley Race will present the Lucha Libre Mexicana "Libertad" wrestling card at the Hammond Civic Center.
For a not-so-simple translation, the Spanish word for pro wrestling is "lucha libre," which morphs to "free fighting" when translated back to English. But don't worry, you'll won't need subtitles to follow the action. Just a quick eye...More?

There are striking style matches, and even a cage match that looks remarkably similar to the UFC’s Octagon. No game before has cross-promoted or mixed professional wrestling and MMA like this.

The Fabulous Moolah Passes Away
A legend in the history of WWE's women's division Fabulous Moolah has passed away at the age of 84.
Many fans will remember the Hall Of Famer for her humorous appearances with Mae Young but she was there from day one.
Moolah's career was recognized in the 2004 documentary "Lipstick and Dynamite", which looked at the pioneering days of women's professional wrestling, featuring Moolah, Mae Young and Penny Banner, among others. And she released an autobiography via WWE in 2004.
Moolah had recently undergone an eye transplant and was scheduled to have her shoulder replaced.
In the world of women’s wrestling, there will always be one irrefutable legend that stands head and shoulders above the rest: The Fabulous Moolah. She was the longest reigning champion in the history of her chosen sport, or any sport for that matter. And with more than 50 years in the business to her credit, she established a legacy that will never be forgotten, making her name synonymous with female wrestling.
