Kaliqo's Commentary - Using the Crippler Crossface

Mike Chin of 411mania.com gives his opinion on using the crippler crossface:
What's with everyone using the crippler crossface all of a sudden? This week we've seen Shawn Michaels do it, which wasn't so remarkable, given he added it to his repertoire in October. But Triple H using it on Raw? The friggin' Great Khali using it at Backlash? I almost get the feeling WWE is trying to desensitize us to the move, and have us forget that Chris Benoit popularized it. On one hand, I can respect that, because it's a perfectly good submission hold, and should remain in the contemporary wrestling canon. On the other side, it's kind of unsettling that a move that synonymous with Benoit is getting so much play.

I don't see what the big deal is. I don't want to see Benoit on my TV; however, I don't have a problem with the wrestlers using a hold that he made popular. I do like that they are only referring to it as the crossface - no mention of Benoit's moniker.

Triple h kicks out and manages a comeback before going to the outside and grabs the sledgehammer. After Orton countered the pedigree Triple h ends up getting the win with a sledgehammer shot to the head after 20 minutes. Ashley Massaro Update

Although Rolling Stone magazine provides a photo of WWE's Ashley Massaro and identifies her as a WWE Diva and a former "Survivor" contestant, Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com. raises the possibility that this could be a case of mistaken identity, as there is a bikini model out of Las Vegas who goes by the same name.

Raw House Show Results: Montreal

Tony Chimel came to the ring and announced that Triple H will defend his WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the main event. The fans got to choose the stipulation via cell phone. They could choose between a Cage Match, a 2 out a 3 falls or a No DQ. The fans chose a steel cage match.

Triple H beat Randy Orton with the Pedigree in 20 minutes. Great match! Slow pace for the first 5 minutes, but the last 15 minutes made it great. Not a MOTYC but nice way to end an average show. It sent the people home happy, and if they repeat or maybe top tonight's performance, we will have a good Judgment Day main event. Triple H celebrated for 10 minutes with the fans after the match.
