Ashley Massaro Update

Philly Burbs journalist Eric Gargiulo has spoken to a few people close to the Ashley Massaro escort scandal story, and they are saying that the Ashley Massaro named by Rolling Stone is indeed the WWE Diva. Gargiulo's sources are saying that the timing fits right and considering that the girl in question was advertised from New York City, it's a pretty big giveaway.

Regarding Massaro's employment status with World Wrestling Entertainment, Gargiulo's sources are saying that she is not expected to be terminated from the company, nor is she really in any trouble -- at least with them. Rather, company officials have told Massaro to keep quiet about the situation in hopes that the story simply goes away without further investigation or media attention.

Is WWE's Drug Testing Policy Finally Working?

The ultimate test for the legitimacy of the policy was whether WWE would have the guts to suspend one of its top stars going into the biggest pay per view of the year - WrestleMania. Sure enough, with just weeks to go before this year's show, and with Jeff Hardy already having earned a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match and expected to win it, WWE suspended the popular star and reigning Intercontinental champion for 60 days.

Now again, after weeks of building up Regal as the centerpiece heel of the Raw brand, and even crowning him King of the Ring, WWE did not hesitate to pull the plug on one of its biggest storylines and sit Regal out for two months.

Like many longtime observers, I'm often cynical about WWE's intentions, but it's hard not to give WWE decision makers kudos for sticking to their guns, even if it means having to scrap months of planned storylines...More?

Frenzied Welcome for India's Own 'Great Khali'

After two hours of swaying to thumping Bollywood neo-folk music and listening to stock stage jokes, the fans grew impatient and began chanting for the star of the evening to show up. "We want Khali! We want Khali!"

And when the Goliath-size professional wrestler of that name appeared on stage in a blue cotton shirt, jeans and ponytail, thousands of hands thrust cellphone cameras into the air to capture the image.

In India, public adulation and hysteria like this is usually reserved for stars of cricket or the film industry known as Bollywood. But Khali has earned his frenzied fame by becoming the Indian icon of American TV wrestling. He is the first man from this country to rise high in the American gladiatorial adventure of World Wrestling Entertainment, winning the world heavyweight championship in July 2007...More?

Triple H's 12 titles say something

Out of respect for the likes of Ric Flair, Bret Hart and Hulk Hogan, it's possible that Triple H, who won his 12th world title at Backlash last Sunday, now can be considered the greatest professional wrestler of all time.

In the months leading up to his retirement match at WrestleMania 24, Flair had been declared the best ever by anyone near a microphone. But without taking anything away from the ''Nature Boy,'' the argument can be made that Triple H's 12 title wins are more impressive than Flair's 16...More?
