CM Punk was probably like a lot of 5-year-olds dreaming about sassing back to Mom without having dessert banned for the evening.
He saw Rowdy Roddy Piper on television, and Piper had all this attitude, telling people off, yet getting away with it and even backing it up. Wow. “That was the moment,” Punk said in a interview, “that I wanted to be a wrestler.”...More?

Beth Phoenix Rising
TNA features the best women's wrestling division on television, but WWE does have Beth Phoenix.
''I have so much experience, and I've been through the trenches,'' she said. ``I'm street smart as well as technically smart. I bring to the table something that no other [WWE diva] brings. Although my road to the top was a little bit longer and difficult, it's definitely tremendous. That road makes me appreciate what I have a lot more, and it makes me obviously more dangerous.''
''Achievement usually comes to me when I put the other divas back in their place where they should be,'' said the former WWE women's champ. ``Stepping in the ring with me, that's taking a huge risk, and I usually beat some sense into them...More?

U.S. Colonel thanks WWE for "Tribute to the Troops"
WWE's Tribute to the Troops tours of Iraq and Afghanistan has created many lasting memories and friendships between members of the U.S. military and WWE Superstars and personnel. Col. Ted Spain met John Laurinaitis, WWE’s Senior Vice President, Talent Relations, on WWE’s first Tribute to the Troops tour of Iraq in 2002. The colonel, now retired, recently sent this e-mail to John and provided the WWE with permission to share it.
The Tribute to the Troops show is the best show the WWE does all year. It is more important than WrestleMania, in my opinion.
Payback for Marc Mero
WWE.com has a new list up - The Top 25 Most Annoying Gimmicks of All Time. Coming in at #15 is "Wildman" Marc Mero:
"After a stint in WCW as the equally stomach-curdling Johnny B. Badd, Mero hit WWE as the “Wildman.” Although he captured the Intercontinental Championship in 1996, Mero was as popular with our fans as a Kenny G concert, and he had the personality to match it. The best thing about Mero’s WWE stint was bringing in the blonde bombshell Sable, and even that got old quick."
Ouch!!
More Hogan Mess
You almost have to go on the TMZ.com web site for the conversation between Hulk Hogan and son Nick that is posted. I don't know how they can do damage control on this one or how they could be so stupid to talk about this when they are being taped and know the conversation will go public. In it, Hogan and Nick basically bury John Graziano, the so called second son and best friend. They come to the conclusion Graziano is in the condition he's in because he wasn't a good person and God was punishing him. Can you imagine the Graziano family hearing this. It makes everything they did in court look like a charade. Nick and Hulk are also talking about Nick starring in a reality show as soon as he's released, which Hulk tabbed, "The New Nick," where he makes a comeback after spending time in prison, discussing who can get them the most money and Hulk talking about going with Eric (Bischoff) and Jason (Hervey). If you haven't heard it, you really have to.

The comments on TMZ have gotten pretty ugly. Someone has started a petition to keep Nick in jail, listed the contact info for Viacom (owns Mtv & VH-1) to get 'Hogan Knows Best' off the air, the address of the Judge that handled the case and Hulk Hogan's home address in Florida. Hogan needs to do some serious damage control...
