...Well I'm sure before announcing and advertising Flair's appearance, the NWA’s head honcho Robert Trobich - a lawyer, no less - got written confirmation from WWE regarding their contracted personality who was just in a featured match at WrestleMania. I mean, surely an attorney at law would have the common sense not to go public with Flair's appearance before having something in writing, right?...More?

It's a frightening thought that I am in agreement with Paul Heyman, but he is right on with this on. The NWA got themselves into this mess and it will be interesting to watch the fallout.

Ric Flair/NWA/WWE Update
From the NWA website:
Ric Flair, part of the 2008 NWA Hall of Fame class, will unfortunately not be present to receive this honor on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA. World Wrestling Entertainment, which has a contractual relationship with Flair, will not permit Flair to attend the ceremony.
"I am deeply sorry that Ric will not be in Atlanta for the Hall of Fame ceremony", said NWA Executive Director Robert K. Trobich. "Ric was very honored to be recognized by the NWA and wanted to be in Atlanta to thank his fans. Unfortunately, the WWE refused to allow him to be there. It is truly a sad action on their part, as the main people injured by the WWE's seeming petulance is the wrestling fans. Nonetheless, Ric Flair was a legend in the NWA long before the WWE was anything other than a regional promotion in the northeast. As such, Ric will still be a member of the 2008 class. He has earned that honor, and we intend to bestow it upon him", said Trobich.
and this from rajah.com:
The promoters are now giving away tickets to this Saturday's NWA 60th Anniversary show at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, which has been a financial bomb to say the least. As of this post, first row seats in section 3 are still available. If you go to TicketMaster.com, you can enter a code to get tickets free of charge.
Maybe they should have cleared it with the WWE before they advertised Ric being there. Just a thought...

Some of Hunter's comments at the MDM Press Conference
As Triple H pointed out on McMahon, "Either he's a genius or he's crazy." Then he jokingly said "he's absolutely crazy," but noted that this was just a smart strategy employed by one of the most successful entertainment machines in the world.
At the start of the press conference, a team of security came out and unloaded one million dollars in cash. They placed this in a clear plastic podium, as was done at Raw the night before. As Triple H looked down to the encased greenbacks under his nose, he said, "There's a million reasons right here why everybody should be watching RAW."
When asked if McMahon had any help coming up with this concept, Triple H playfully stated, "Vince is very capable of coming up with crazy ideas on his own."

Nature of The Game
Triple H on Randy Orton's injury:
“Obviously, it’s a bad break for Orton. It’s a physical business. We don’t go out there to play checkers,” Randy and I knew going into that match that we wouldn’t be the same coming out. It’s part of the game and what we do for a living. When something bad happens out there in that ring you take advantage of it. Orton would’ve done the same thing to me if the roles would’ve been reversed. I have no sympathy or remorse."
“I think there’s some poetic justice,” The Game added. “Randy Orton has bragged about putting Superstars on the shelf. That stuff can come back to bite you. He’ll have two months to sit at home and think about it.”
“I don’t think that anybody who’s seen me compete over the last 10 years will think that I would have any remorse. I’ll fight tooth and nail,” the 12-time World Champion declared. “I’ve fought with torn quads and other injuries. This is what you do in this business. It’s your passion. To win championships is what we keep fighting for. I’ll stop at nothing to win or retain the WWE Championship.”
