Tony Atlas makes an appearance on ECW

WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas made a special, Extreme appearance on Tuesday night as a guest ring announcer on ECW on Sci Fi during a non-title match between Tommy Dreamer and ECW Champion Mark Henry. While Atlas exchanged words with Henry earlier in the evening, and Dreamer offered Atlas a chance to be in the ECW Original’s corner, Atlas proved to be more than a guest ring announcer on Tuesday night...More?

Chris Jericho Interview

Q. Chris, you just wrestled Triple H on this past Raw in what I thought was an extremely smooth match, I thought it was great...What’s it like working with The Game?

A. It’s great, I mean, I haven’t worked with Triple H on a single match, probably since 2003, maybe, we did quite an intricate program at the time. It was great to get back in the ring with him. He’s a tremendous performer and he’s got a lot of great ideas and he is, you know, like you said, very smooth and it was a lot of fun. And we wanted to have a good match, we didn’t want to give away too much because you know there’s a lot in the can that we can do in the future, especially considering the amount of actual, legitimate, top guys in the business right now so we did the match just as kind of just a quick, little thing, as a little bit of a teaser. It’s funny, once again people complained "They gave away this match for nothing; they gave away this match for free." We didn’t give away anything, we did, I think, it was a seven minute match. That’s like giving it, it was a teaser, it was a little bit of a trailer to say "Remember these two guys exist, here’s a little bit of the chemistry that they have, so stay tuned for future developments," so I think it was mission accomplished all across the board. It was fun, I enjoyed it...More?

The Legacy of Triple H

Fan responses to the question: What is Triple H to You?

He's a fantastic wrestler, I have no doubt about that but I think him being with Steph helped alot, I also think he has used his backstage influence to bury some of the other wrestlers but if I'm honest and was in his position, I would do the same...

Everyone always says that HHH has basically done nothing to get to the top! Which is the stupidest thing ever said. The fact is he has been in some matches that have been do or die, putting everything on the line. Look at how many hell in a cell matches, chamber matches, steel cage matches, last man standing matches the guy has been in. In my opinion he has worked harder than any other superstar to get where he is, he has had to do things the hard way even if people don't want to see it that way. I didn't see Stone Cold or The Rock climbing to the top of a cage to get suplexed by Mick Foley which could of ended HHH's career if it had given way. Or did HHH lay on the floor in agony complaining when his knee went during a match with Rated RKO? N,o he carried on the match and even gave a pedigree! The man is why I love wrestling, he gives everything he has...

Triple H is a first ballot Hall of Famer. He will go down as one of the best. To all the people who said he used politics, he's no different than any other top guy because they have used it too...

No one is gonna wanna say it now, but he's to our generation what Flair was to his. Flair got alot of sh*t in his hay day like HHH does in this day, but when it's all said and done they are respected. HHH is tough as f*ck as he kept going in a match where he had a big chunk of wood stuck in his calf, kept going in a match where his throat was basically crushed, and even finished two matches with torn quads. Not to mention nobody can blade and bleed are sick as this guy can. He has so many great matches in his career, and moments, and everything...

So while yeah people are gonna bring up the Steph bullsh*t at the end of the day when Trips is retired I think everyone will have no choice but to respect him. The only reason why he isn't appreciated now is because he's still going. If he retired today he'd have everyone on his jock like Austin and Rock do...

July 4th SmackDown Ratings

On a night when everyone was out watching fireworks, it was all fizzle for broadcast prime-time ratings. CBS won the viewership crown with an anemic 4.71 million. CW’s reliable, but soon to depart, Friday Night Smackdown! lifted it to the demo win for the night with a 1.1 rating / 5 share, which is well down from its typical 1.5ish demo rating. Even pro wrestling fans were out at the fireworks.

Rumor Mill - William Regal

The 2008 King of the Ring winner William Regal is set to make his return to TV sometime around the 18th of this month. Regal has been out of action since May 20th of this year after failing a WWE Wellness Policy test. Regal will probably be back on the RAW brand upon returning and likely will resume his role as RAW General Manager somehow. Regal may work WWE live events that weekend or could pop up as a surprise at the Great American Bash pay-per-view, which is on the 20th.

WWE Lawsuit Win

WWE has successfully defended itself from a lawsuit against them by CCP hf and CCP North America over the name Gangrel. The case was dismissed on 6/30. CCP claimed that WWE had obtained the rights to use the Gangrel name from them but continued to use it after their rights expired. CCP has a character named Gangrel in a role-playing game. The Judge dismissed the case because CCP could not prove that they were actively using the trademark.
