From an anonymous prowrestling.net reader:
Triple H announced as a no-show. A few boos, and they offered a refund before the end of the first match.
Refunds because Hunter wasn't there? Can this man get any more over?!
Shelton Benjamin beat Mr. Kennedy and MVP in a three-way to retain the U.S. Title. Kennedy was super over. Another fairly basic match which was pretty sloppy from time to time. Kennedy looked rough in my opinion, but I'll be the first to admit I am not a fan of the guy: "Look, I say my name! Then I say it again!" Maybe WWE will bring back the Cactus Jack amnesia gimmick one day: Kennedy gets kicked really hard in the head, comes in to do his schtick... and draws a complete and total blank. Where was I? Oh right, the match!
One highlight: Shelton gets sent to the outside right in front us, where there's a bag of popcorn lying ringside. He opens it, stands there and starts eating some. Nice little ad-lib. And that's why I love me some Shelton Benjamin. Finish came when Kennedy hit MVP with the Mic Check, but Benjamin caught Kennedy with a rolling cradle as he went to make the cover...More?
I like Ken Kennedy, but his new way of introducing himself and waiting for the crowd to answer isn't working for me.

The Glamazon’s new pal
Beth Phoenix made a new friend while on tour with WWE this week. Before the live Raw show in Washington D.C., The Glamazon stopped by the WWE Circle of Champions visit with Make-A-Wish’s Robert. The experience turned out to be a moving one for the former Women’s Champion.
“This was my first Make-A-Wish experience, getting to meet all the Circle of Champions honorees. Robert, in particular, stood out to me as a kid with an incredible fighting spirit. It was an emotional meeting, but at the same time, it was very uplifting for me. It makes you appreciate each and every day and know how important it is not to take anything for granted,” she told Diva Dish...More?
JR Comments on ECW & Jenny McCarthy
On ECW:
"Here’s an idea for ECW TV….go young…stay young…and take chances on new individuals and concepts. It looks as if that may be the direction the Tuesday night Sci Fi show is heading. I like watching ECW because one can usually see more wrestling in their hour than many other hours on TV."
On Jenny McCarthy:
"It was great seeing Jenny McCarthy again for the taping of the SNME after so many years. Jenny came to Stamford and did an announcer audition that yours truly participated in at the Hamilton Avenue studio. Jenny was unpretentious and a beautiful woman who was pretty versed in sports and one could tell had been a "Tom Boy" growing up. She literally has not aged a bit and was just a lovely and gracious around the WWE folks as one could ask. BTW Jenny’s job interview back in the day was one of the very best of any 'outside talent' that I personally was involved with or witnessed. She has a great sense of humor."

How come so many rich athletes are so poor?
"I'm not broke; I'm just not liquid," 45-year-old Evander Holyfield argued earlier this month upon narrowly avoiding a court appearance on charges that he was around $9,000 behind in court-ordered child support payments for one of his 11 children.
But there's no denying that as recently as two weeks ago, the "Real Deal's" 54,000-square-foot, 109-room, 17-bathroom home was set for auction due to a $10 million loan default...More?

Jenny McCarthy speaks out on Michael Savage
“It’s really about showboating ignorance really,” she said. “I kind of took the high road and kept talking about healing, prevention.
“And if he would like, (he can) join me in the ring sometime on the WWE. I’ll show you what I really think,” McCarthy added, referring to her upcoming appearance on Saturday Night’s Main Event (airing Aug. 2 at 9 p.m.) with superstar John Cena as the WWE and McCarthy raise awareness about autism, and hopefully a lot of money...More?
