Mick Foley confirms possible departure from WWE

Mick Foley confirmed that he might be leaving the WWE at the end of his contract to The Long Island Press.

"I can't say much until after my contract expires, which is September 1st. But at this point, there is a good chance, through mutual agreement, that I will not be renewing the contract," Foley said while leaving a phone message Thursday evening with the newspaper. "Creatively, the announcing job wasn't working out too well."

Murphy Claire - Claire Murphy

There has been a lot of speculation concerning the origin of the name of Paul & Stephanie's new daughter, Murphy Claire Levesque. I thought it was interesting that there is a WWE employee named Claire Murphy:

Former wrestlers suing the WWE?

From the 10-Q Quarterly Report filed by the WWE:

Levy et al.

On July 24, 2008, we were served with a summons from three of our former talent purporting to be on behalf of themselves and a class of similarly situated persons. The lawsuit alleges breach of contract and unjust enrichment arising from our treating them as independent contractors rather than employees, which the plaintiffs allege is an erroneous classification. We have not formally responded to the suit but intend to deny any liability for claims asserted against us and to defend vigorously against the suit.

TNA Impact Results 08-07-08

Kevin Nash walked out of the Impact! taping due to creative differences for the finish of the Gaunlet Match the aired last night. In addition, TNA creative wanted him to be eliminated during a commercial break. After seeing the match last night, I would have to agree with his complaints.

Just being Hulk Hogan isn’t enough anymore

From Steve Anderson of wrestlezone.com:

...He is damaged goods now. His age and years of ring wear would prevent a full-time ring return anyway. But even being an ambassador for the business has become a colossally bad idea. Some of it is his fault. Some is not.

He’s come back from adversity before. But this? Well, it’s reality. That very reality spotlight Hulk Hogan put himself in gave his fans a dose of reality that he may never recover from. A sad ending to a great legacy...More?

SI's story on Murray going to film

Time Inc., the parent company of Sports Illustrated and SI.com, announced Tuesday that it has established a development fund that will turn its top editorial content into films.

The fund's first project will be Breaking the Bank.

In its April 14 issue, Sports Illustrated published a story by L.
