Cuban taekwondo athlete banned after kicking ref
A Cuban taekwondo athlete and his coach were banned for life after Angel Matos kicked the referee in the face following his bronze-medal match disqualification.
Matos was declared the loser for taking too much injury time after hurting his leg during the men's over-80 kg (176 pounds) match. Fighters get one minute, and Matos was disqualified when his time ran out. Matos angrily questioned the call, pushed a judge, then pushed and kicked referee Chakir Chelbat of Sweden. Matos then spat on the floor and was escorted out...More?

Bill Goldberg announced on the Fight Network Radio that he has been training for three weeks to make his one-time pro wrestling return. He hinted that his return would not involve WWE or TNA. He stated during his appearance that he stopped training when his son was born a few years back. Goldberg was last seen in a pro wrestling ring at WrestleMania 20 against Brock Lesnar.

Ric Flair deserves better
Very good article by Paul Heyman:
With financial issues looming and a reported separation from his third wife, Flair apparently made the decision to take the "short term money" available to him on the open market over the guaranteed $500,000 he was making with WWE.
It's a little painful to watch, because bluntly, Flair deserves better.
I didn't realise it until I watched the video of Flair doing a promo for a small independent group in Chicago. The PCW promotion is just one of many independent wrestling leagues that are smartly taking advantage of the opportunity to use the legendary multi-time World Champion in conjunction with their shows...More?

Fast rise for high flying Kingston
In just two years, Kofi Kingston, the aerial specialist, was in the right place at the ring time and influenced the right people to stand where few have landed.
''I definitely feel it's a great thing to be in WWE,'' said Kingston, a young star on the rise. ``There are a lot of eyes watching. Sometimes you're given the ball, and it's up to you to take the ball and run with it. I've been fortunate enough to be doing well.''...More?

Triple H is probably the best in the business right now, period
A must read by Mark Madden of wrestlezone.com:
Internet schmucks have caterwauled long and loud about the overrated mess that is Triple H, crediting his success to entering the sacred chamber of the princess rather than being that damn good.
That notion was hopefully put to sleep once and for all at SummerSlam when Trips got a match out of Khali that was both passable and dramatic. I’m a Trips fan, but I still bet against that one. When you look at the entire oeuvre of Triple H – and view his work without malice aforethought – it’s impossible to not conclude that he is among the very best of his generation...More?
