Steel City SmackDown

When you’re on top, everyone is gunning for you. This is exactly the position WWE Champion Triple H finds himself in.

The Game had to fend off United States Champion Shelton Benjamin in a Champion vs. Champion bout. The King of Kings was successful, using a Pedigree to down the Gold Standard. But after the bell, Benjamin stunned Triple H by hitting him from behind with his United States title. To add insult to injury, The Great Khali came to the ring and chokeslammed the vulnerable champion...More?

Santino Marella - Best Comedic Heel

For my money the best comedic heel in the business right now is Santino Marella. He is so funny and entertainment that I look forward to his segments each week on RAW. More importantly though Santino is funny and entertaining without ever making himself look good. Santino has gone above and beyond to make sure he is the butt of every joke. No matter how much of an idiot you are, you can watch Santino Marella and take comfort in him being an even bigger one...More?

WWE Appeals Jakks/THQ Decision

World Wrestling Entertainment issued a statement that its litigation efforts against Jakks/THQ would continue despite a ruling in Connecticut State Court:

“The decision today from Connecticut State Court says that the prior federal court decision in this matter precludes the Connecticut court from allowing WWE to present our case on the merits. We believe the federal court decision was wrong, and are taking steps to have it corrected on appeal.”

Kevin Nash has problems with TNA creative again

Kevin Nash had more issues with the creative team at the television tapings this week. He was upset about the booking plans for his match with Kurt Angle (which aired last night) and he also grumbled about some of the backstage segments. Although he eventually went along with the plan for him to lose the match to Angle, he has lost some respect within the company. "He needs to go," said one TNA office worker. "It's getting out of hand."

There were no issues at the last set of television tapings, but Nash left the set before that prematurely after balking at the creative team's plan to have him eliminated during a commercial break of the gauntlet weapons match. He was eventually pulled from that match and left the tapings a short time later with permission from Jeff Jarrett.

Interview with Balls Mahoney

...All I know, and this is honestly, the McMahons – all of them – Stephanie, Shane, Vince, Linda, and Hunter. I’ll include Hunter, even though I know he’s not a McMahon – They all treated me great and I got along great with them. I really do. And I know a lot of people don’t say that. A lot of people say, “They’re a$$ holes.” Well, you know what, they’re my type of a$$ holes...More?
