As mentioned in a recent blog on her MySpace account, Trish Stratus has returned to her roots as a fitness model, gracing the cover of the most recent issue of Inside Fitness magazine. The magazine spread comes on the heels of Stratus’ special appearance on Monday Night Raw in Toronto last month, where she teamed with World Heavyweight Champion John Cena.

Batista Interview; Discusses his inspirations, legacy
Inspirations in the wrestling business:"There are a lot of guys that inspire me in this business; the obvious ones are Ric Flair, Triple H, The Undertaker, as well as The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin... I mean if these guys don't inspire anyone in this business you must have a screw loose and you have chosen the wrong profession. Look at what these guys have accomplished; look at what they did every single night. It's amazing; they are superhuman."
His legacy: "I always connect myself to guys I think the fans will remember like Ric Flair, Triple H and Rey Mysterio. I have achieved so much more than I ever thought possible in the WWE so my goal is to help this company as much as possible... I love the WWE and I stand by it wholeheartedly. I try to pack the house every night. Hopefully, in the end, my legacy will be what Ric and Triple H passed on to me; help the younger talent. As far as what I achieve in my personal life, I want to make sure my kid's futures are set and they don't have to struggle like I did when I was young."...More?

Roddy Piper Surprises Mickey Rourke on Jimmy Kimmel
Roddy Piper was introduced as a surprise guest during Mickey Rourke's interview on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Wednesday. Piper praised The Wrestler and said he cried while attending the premier because the movie hit home. Piper has become a semi-regular on the show since he did the bit with Cousin Sal. They also showed footage of Piper applying the sleeper hold to one of Kimmel's friends.
The subject of steroids came up again during Rourke's interview and he didn't deny taking them for his role as Randy "The Ram" Robinson. He also told a story about director Darren Aronofsky telling him that he would be required to cut himself while filming. He said Aronofsky backed down once they got to that scene, but Rourke took it as a challenge and insisted upon "gigging."

Hade Vansen Released
WWE has released British developmental wrestler Hade Vansen. WWE ran a bizarre vignette on his planned character on SmackDown a few weeks ago.
WWE had plans for his dark character with cult-esque overtones to engage in a feud with Undertaker, but Vince McMahon halted the direction following the initial vignette. McMahon didn't want new talent from developmental to be put in such a major angle before being tested and then trusted enough to carry the ball.
Vansen was signed to a developmental contract in May 2007 following a successful tryout during WWE's European tour. Vansen missed most of 2008 due to injury before returning in December.

Former Ring of Honor booker discusses "The Wrestler" and ROH's role in the movie
Gabe Sapolsky offered his take on The Wrestler in his latest myspace blog:
"As an outsider to ROH now it wasn't easy to watch that final scene, so maybe I'm biased. When it comes to exposure ROH could not ask for more of it. The logo and website address are prominent, every wrestling fan will eventually see this movie and who knows where else clips of Rourke in a ROH ring will surface."
"However, is all exposure good exposure? Pro wrestling is never portrayed as cool or hip in the movie. It is presented as a sad, old subculture filled with human wastes and misfits that only share camaraderie with each other. Hey, maybe that is exactly what indy wrestling is, but I still love it. Well, most of it. Meanwhile, ROH isn't promoted as innovators with the next generation of stars that display an athletic, cutting-edge style... It is not exactly the type of thing mainstream fans or sponsors will flock to."...More?
More WWE Cost-Cutting
WWE has dropped referee Mickey Henson (Mickie Jay). Henson had been out of action the past few months with undisclosed health problems and it was unknown if he would return.
Matt Cappotelli has been released from his WWE contract. Cappotelli was the co-winner of Tough Enough III alongside John Hennigan (a.k.a. current WWE Superstar "John Morrison"). Cappotelli was developing his talent further in the WWE development territory Ohio Valley Wrestling, but was diagnosed with a brain tumor in December 2005, forcing him to step away from wrestling and relinquish his OVW Championship. The tumor was removed in May 2007 and he had hoped to return to the ring at some point.
The WWE laid off a number of staff members working on the company's website, WWE.com. They also closed down its Asia Pacific office located in Sydney, Australia, laying off everyone who worked out of the office.

Guess who Mr. Kennedy wants to work with
From and interview Mr. Kennedy did with the Baltimore Sun:
"I would love to get in the ring with Triple H. We’ve done it on a couple house shows, and we’ve had a couple tag matches together on TV, but not a whole lot of contact. He is the man right now and I’d really like to get in there with him."
FCW Tags Out of Bourbon Street Nightclub
Florida Championship Wrestling will no longer promote events featuring up-and-coming WWE talent at Bourbon Street, the nightclub and concert venue on U.S. 19.
Last week, professional wrestler and local FCW promoter "Roughhouse" Ralph Mosca was told by officials with World Wrestling Entertainment, the industry juggernaut owned by Vince McMahon, that the company was looking for a "more professional setting."...More?
