Variety reports that Stone Cold Steve Austin has joined the cast of Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables. Austin joins a cast that already includes Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler) as well as Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Forest Whitaker and Charisma Carpenter. The film is about a team of mercenaries who attempt to overthrow a South American dictator.

Ken Shamrock Tests Positive for Steroids

Mixed martial arts legend Ken Shamrock tested positive for three illegal anabolic steroids — Norandrosterone, Noretiocholanolone and Stanozolol — after his first round armbar submission win over Ross Clifton at War Gods: “Valentine’s Eve Massacre,” which took place at Selland Arena in Fresno, Calif., on Feb. 13, according to the California State Athletic Commission.

Shamrock has been suspended and fined $2,500 for the transgression. He has the right to appeal the finding in the future...More?

Levy & Klucsartis ask the Court for Another Shot at the WWE

Two of the three wrestlers, whose lawsuit against World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. ("WWE") was dismissed late last month, have asked a federal court to reconsider the matter and give them another opportunity to plead their case against the WWE.

In a motion to alter/amend the judgment filed late Wednesday (download available here), Scott Levy and Christopher Klucsartis contend that the court should have allowed them to raise claims under the federal law regarding employee benefits (ERISA), after the court made its initial ruling dismissing the matter. They also contend that they should be allowed another opportunity to raise certain state law claims with additional facts.

WWE will have until the end of March to respond to this latest motion and a decision from the court can be expected no earlier than mid April 2009...More?

Charles Lewis, Mask of Tapout, Dies

Multiple MMA sources say that Charles Lewis, better known as Mask, the man behind the MMA clothing line TapouT, died early Wednesday morning in a car crash in Newport Beach, California.

Mask was reportedly driving his red Ferrari around 1 a.m. when he collided with a Porsche, hit a curb and hit a light pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his passenger was hospitalized with unspecified injuries. KTLA News reported that the impact of the crash broke the Ferrari into two pieces...More?
