Vince McMahon Comments on the Role of ECW
Vince McMahon was asked during the annual shareholders meeting whether he's happy with the ECW brand:
"Currently, I am happy with ECW in terms of it's format. I'm unhappy with the television ratings, but more times than not it's the No. 1 show on Sci-Fi... ECW is used in a different way than it was in the past. ECW at one time was a wild west, shoot 'em up, bang-bang. You can't continue that way, so the ECW brand had to morph anyhow...You'll see some of our younger talent on ECW and once they garner a certain amount of experience and we understand that the public likes them in some way we can move them to Raw or Smackdown. I won't say that it's a farm system, it's really not. We have a great farm system down in Florida - Florida Championship Wrestling. It's where a lot of our new performers enter the major leagues, so to speak, is ECW, and it's working out well for everybody."
The Learning Channel at Backlash
The Learning Channel was backstage shooting at WWE's Backlash pay-per-view doing a feature on Shiloh Pepin, age 9, known as the "mermaid girl" because of her deformities at birth. Shiloh and her family were brought to Backlash through the efforts of Dan Mirade, "Superstar" Billy Graham and John Cena Sr. She got to meet with WWE Superstars but was scared badly by the pyro and ended up leaving after the second match. Shiloh left with a replica WWE Women's Title belt signed by Cena and Graham. Cena Sr. and Mirade are trying to raise funds for her to attend a camp this year.

Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Brought Against WWE Over Use of "Gangrel"
A lawsuit filed against WWE for use of the name "Gangrel" was been dismissed by U.S. District Court Judge Marvin H. Shoob on April 22.

WWE Vindicated on Angle Rehab Remark; Company Offers Help to Current, Former Talent
What was a case of 'he said, he said' between top wrestler Kurt Angle and top company World Wrestling Entertainment became a clarification in favor of WWE.
In an article in the Philadelphia Inquirer on April 9, 2009, former WWE star Kurt Angle addressed his steroid use, pain pill addiction and WWE. In the article, it read Angle was fined and suspended by WWE for steroid use in 2006. WWE remembers differently.
"WWE let Kurt Angle out of his contract because he refused to go to rehab," a WWE spokesman told the Inquirer.
"Kurt Angle was granted a mutual release from his contract on Aug. 25, 2006 because, at WWE's insistence, Kurt Angle refused to enter a drug rehabilitation program. This is contrary to what Kurt Angle asserts in the Philadelphia Inquirer article dated Thursday, April 9, 2009, which is that WWE refused his request to attend rehabilitation. More specifically, on May 30, 2006, a WWE physician informed WWE management of concerns regarding Mr. Angle's addiction issues and recommended to Mr. Angle that he attend a rehabilitation program. At that time, Mr. Angle refused to attend rehabilitation. Subsequently, on June 27, 2006, Mr. Angle was suspended for violating the WWE Talent Wellness program and was released from his contract on Aug. 25, 2006."...More?
