Raw House Show Results - Nimes, France
Triple H defeated Randy Orton with a Pedigree. After the match, Legacy attacked Triple H but John Cena made the save. They celebrated in the ring with the French flag. Matt Hardy and The Miz commented on the beautiful arena which hosted this house show:
The Miz (via Twitter): "just wrestled in the most amazing coliseum ever. nimes was incredible. heading home."
Matt Hardy (via Twitter):"Back at the hotel after a 3 hour bus drive from tonight's show. It was at the Arenes De Nimes, the coolest arena I've ever performed in. The Arenes De Nimes is a coliseum that had been renovated somewhat, but still has the majestic, old school coliseum look and architecture. BTW, this arena is located in Nimes, France and dates back to around the BC/AD line in history. Absolutely amazing!!"

Lack of Professionalism on the Independent Wrestling Circuit
Les Thatcher's view on the current indy scene:
It seems that like me many independent contractors on the pro wrestling scene are left hanging waiting for a final decision from a promoter or promotion they have been in negotiations with. This scenario plays out over and over again. First you get a call or e-mail expressing interest in your services or in my case sometimes the purchase of equipment as well. Now this is not a short one time conversation to just ask price, but entails several talks or e-mails with the promoter saying that they have a date in mind, and are working out the details such as flight information, advertising, etc, and will get back to you and lock it down. So now you pencil in that date on your calendar, and then wait for conformation from said person, and you wait, and you wait…Then you try calling them, or e-mailing with a polite message left on their machine saying that you need to lock this date in, and start making arrangements on your end. Now you wait, and wait, and patiently try again, but still no return call or e-mail.
This scene plays out all too often in the business at the independent level Try this, it’s called honesty. If you contact a talent for a booking and find that the price is out of your reach, or that dates can’t be worked out, just out and out say so...More?
Hunter Smarks Put in Check
Commentary from Pulse Wrestling on Triple H:
The minute Triple H returned, smart fans collectively farted their hate across message boards all over the internet. Here’s a good one from a board I read when I need to feel particularly smart… the W board.
“Good to see Triple H satiate his ego and get his revenge on Orton. God I really hate that man.”
This kind of stuff seriously makes me laugh. Satiate his ego? Give me a break. Triple H made Randy Orton’s career. Here was a guy with no personality and a bland moveset who the biggest star in professional wrestling at the time said “That kid, that’s the one I’m putting in my new star-making faction. It will be like the Four Horsemen, only it will have a previous world champion, a current world champion, and two future world champions in it.” And thus Triple H took a very bland, very green kid and made him into a legitimate star. And regardless of whether you think Randy Orton deserves his spot or not, you can’t deny he’s over. It’s because Triple H works. He’s a star and he’s a star maker.
And really, on the subject of ego, here’s a guy who is arguably the most powerful professional wrestler since Hulk Hogan in terms of his political power and he goes over two years without being the world champion. You know, from the time Hulk Hogan won the WWE Championship in 1984 to the time he lost the Undisputed WWE Championship, he never went as long as Triple H did between title reigns.
So smart marks, drop your stupid, groundless hating. You come across like an incredibly ignorant child who’s bitching to his parents about the popular kid in school who has all the money and all the cool people hanging around him. You want to see an ego? Look no further then Vince McMahon himself, who does stupid shit like devote thirty minutes of air time on Raw to his public temper-tantrum over a venue snafu. I’ve listened to smart marks talk about how bad things are going to get when Vince McMahon kicks off and Triple H ends up in charge of the WWE. I say bring it the fuck on. Because unlike Vince McMahon, Triple H seems to have a good perspective on what works and doesn’t work these days in professional wrestling. You guys see ego? I see a guy with a long history of making smart business decisions. He’s the guy I want in charge.
NOAH Founder Mitsuharu Misawa Passes Away After In-Ring Accident
One of the greatest in-ring workers of the modern age and the founder of Pro Wrestling NOAH, Mitsuhau Misawa, just a few days short of his 47th birthday, died earlier this morning following an in-ring accident stemming from a suplex.
Misawa was wrestling in a tag team bout at the Hiroshima Green Arena, teaming with Go Shiozaki to challenge Bison Smith and Akitoshi Saito for NOAH's Global Honored Crown Tag Team championships Around 15-17 minutes in, Saito delivered with what was described as looking like a "routine" suplex. Misawa went over for the bump but didn't get back up. It is believed he may have suffered a heart attack as he immediately stopped breathing. EMTS attempted to revive him in the ring via AED in the ring and he was rushed out to an ambulance.
In the wake of the Misawa incident, the show was immediately halted. The NOAH roster were told Misawa had passed away a short time later...More?

SmackDown Results: Road to Raw
With new World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk watching from the announce table, former champions Edge and Jeff Hardy battled it out in the night’s main event. At stake was a chance to face CM Punk for his title this Monday on Raw. The match was made at the start of the night by SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long.
In a back-and-forth struggle, Hardy and Edge pushed themselves to the limits of endurance. As the action spilled to the arena floor, Edge tossed Hardy onto CM Punk, who was seated at the announce table. Mayhem then ensued, when Punk pursued Edge back in to the ring and assaulted him with a series of punches.
Realizing he lost the match due to Punk’s interference, an angry Jeff Hardy reigned down blows on Punk, then took out his frustration on Edge with a Twist of Fate. But it was the champion who had the final word when he destroyed Hardy with a Go to Sleep.
As Punk stood over the fallen former champions, GM Theodore Long made the blockbuster announcement from his office that it will be Edge vs. Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk in a Triple Threat Match on Raw for the World Heavyweight Championship. Full results.
