Daffney at Home in TNA

Daffney is the toast of TNA and is happy to feel appreciated again.

Mick Foley recently wrote on his blog that "Daffney's Got it Going On" and put her promo and ring work over strongly.

"I'm his little, scary, creepy, life-sized doll," Daffney told SLAM! Wrestling and then laughed. "That is the most amazing thing I've ever experienced in my entire career. What an honour, to have someone like that say something like that about you."...More?

SmackDown Results: Getting Burned in the Miami Heat

The animosity between the polar opposite Night of Champion opponents, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Jeff Hardy, reached a new level of intensity. Hardy insisted he will become the next World Heavyweight Champion while Punk says that his pay-per-view opponent is a consummate screw-up who will never beat him. After listening to one insult too many, Hardy abruptly ended the confrontation, knocking the World Champion to the canvas.

Later, in the culmination of a spectacular tag team main event, Jeff Hardy threw Jericho in The Straightedge Champion’s direction as he was sitting at the broadcast table. Punk then tossed Jericho into Hardy, knocking his Night of Champions challenger into the unforgiving steel steps disqualifying he and Rey Mysterio in the process. After the match, the smiling United Tag Team Champion hooked in the Walls of Jericho to the war-torn Charismatic No. 1 Contender while Punk looked on indifferently from outside the ring. Former MU student finds success with WWE

Bright white and blue lights flash throughout the arena. The voice of an air traffic controller blasts from loudspeakers, queuing the 20,000 in attendance to start cheering. A video flashes the name Evan Bourne on the large video screen above the entrance ramp.

Fast-paced metal music starts playing while the fans continue to cheer, waiting for the arrival of Bourne, a World Wrestling Entertainment hero. WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia makes the introduction as Bourne races to the top of the entrance ramp.

"And from St. Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 183 pounds ... Evan Bourne," Garcia shouts.

"It's one of the biggest adrenaline rushes you can have," Bourne said by phone. "It's a really special feeling to go out and perform in front of the fans."...More?

TNA iMPACT! Recap 07/16

WWE Superstars Results: Thrill of the Fight

For the last few weeks, Cryme Tyme and The Hart Dynasty have been one upping each other in the ring, trying to prove who the better team is. Following an impressive victory tonight, JTG & Shad can celebrate being on top after JTG got a hot tag and left Tyson Kidd looking up at the lights with a modified backbreaker. Although, as these teams have shown each other, Cryme Tyme better keep their celebration to a minimum and keep their focus, or it will be David Hart Smith & Kidd celebrating next time. Full results.

Not Counted Out Yet

Just beyond a Best Western in Wilmington, N.C., a red brick building sits to the left of seven orange barrels, loose gravel and a sign alerting visitors that the road ahead is not fit for use.

That building, the Coastline Convention Center, used to host wrestling shows. Seven years ago, Mark “Carnage” Perez was carried away from that brick building on a stretcher. In a summer 2002 match, Perez suffered a cut in the middle of his forehead, courtesy of Abdullah the Butcher’s hand and a fork.

“Whenever you wrestle Abdullah the Butcher, there’s going to be blood,” said the 47-year-old Fairfax resident. “Somebody’s getting cut.”...More?
