Lance Storm Commentary: "And then for the finale we got the Montreal finish. Are you F’N kidding me? "

Lance Storm comments on the finish to the Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles match on iMPACT! last week:

And then for the Finale we got the Montreal finish. Are you F’N kidding me? The most over done, bullshit finish in wrestling and we not only got it again, we got an exact carbon copy of it; all we needed was for Kurt to draw WWE in the air at the finish. This finish is so old and so stale it doesn’t draw heat it draws groans of disappointment. My first reaction to this (after my groan of disappointment) was: “Hey that reminds me, WWE is finally doing the conclusion to this 12 year old angle on RAW, I’ll have to be sure to watch that show on Monday!” On top of all that there were a ton of plot holes in this angle...More?

Shawn Michaels Interview

On when DX will break up:
“It’s sort of like the final KISS tour…It’s got nine lives. Every time we think it’s getting a little old, we’re getting a little old, they ask to put it back together. People still enjoy it. My guess is it’s going to go up until the point where I gotta go from DX Shawn to Mr. Wrestlemania, which we’re getting pretty close to [he mentioned the road to Wrestlemania, the Royal Rumble, etc]…That would be my guess.”

On how much gas he has left in the tank as it relates to retirement:

“That’s always the million dollar question,” he said. “I’d like to go on record saying I have been trying to retire for the last three years…And they make it very difficult…I try to walk away, but then Wrestlemania comes up and they put me in a match that I always try to do well, and that match, you know I’m blessed and/or cursed…It’s hard for them to sort of be able to say: ‘We don’t want to have that as an option every year. I’m workin’ on trying to do it, but they’re not makin’ it very easy. And I’m definitely slowing down, sort of trying to get to a slow drift.”

Absolutely fantastic match. The "Future Legend" and Mariko went for just under 20 minutes in a classic Japanese-style match.

SmackDown Results: No Fear

Standing in the middle of the ring, Rey Mysterio called out his Royal Rumble opponent, World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker. After recalling winning a World Title four years ago, The Master of the 619 said The Deadman was the only thing standing between reliving his dream again.

Not phased by Mysterio’s confidence, The Phenom said Mysterio is only digging his own grave, and will “rest in peace” – just like the many other Superstars who have tried to make a name for themselves against The Deadman.

Then, as Undertaker made his way up the exit ramp, Mysterio shouted into the mic that he is not like the rest who have faced The Phenom. Next, from out of nowhere, Batista viciously assaulted Mysterio with a spinebuster and Batista Bomb, leaving him writing in pain. Finally, as The Deadman approached the ring to witness the carnage, The Animal disappeared into the crowd. Full results.

TNA iMPACT! Recap 01/21/10

WWE Superstars Results: Can’t Stop Kane

The main event of “WWE Superstars” pitted the humongous Kane against the cagey Chris Jericho. Though fans might have expected The Big Red Monster to plow right through his smaller opponent, the first-ever Undisputed Champion showed the WWE Universe exactly why he claims to be the best in the world at what he does. Jericho put up a tremendous fight, attempting to fell his monstrous opponent through the relentless application of a vicious sleeper hold. It would take much more than that to take Kane out of commission however, as the nefarious Superstar soon found out. Running out of options, Jericho escaped from the ring, allowing himself to be counted out, giving The Big Red Monster the win. Full results.
