TNA iMPACT! Recap 02/18/10

WWE Superstars Results: Building Momentum

In a matter of days, Rey Mysterio will push his body to the limit against five other Superstars in an Elimination Chamber Match with the World Heavyweight Championship hanging in the balance. While other ring warriors might have used the days preceding the match to rest up, The Master of the 619 took the opportunity to hone his wrestling acumen against a particularly imposing opponent: Mike Knox. Though the massive SmackDown Superstar possessed a definitive size and strength advantage, The Ultimate Underdog prevailed with a 619, gaining momentum heading into Sunday’s Elimination Chamber. Full results.

TNA Scraps Suicide

TNA Wrestling has scrapped the "Suicide" character and Frankie Kazarian is back to working as himself. It's unknown what gimmick they are going with Kaz as the graphics on the screen at this week's Impact tapings said "Kaz" while ring announcer David Penzer introduced him as "Kazarian". It's unknown if there are any future plans to use the Suicide character as one source told me the gimmick has been "jobbed out and forgotten".

The Suicide character was created by Midway Games as an original character for the TNA Impact video game. Midway had full license with how to use him as the character was not originally trademarked by TNA or a wrestler. Brandon Silvestry (a/k/a Senshi, Low-Ki & Kaval) did motion capture for the character on the game and voiced it.

TNA Wrestling brought the character to TV in December 2008. Frankie Kazarian originally played the character but it was later portrayed by Christopher Daniels when Kaz was injured. Kaz returned with the gimmick when he returned from injury.
