Election 2010: Predictions and predilections:
Much has been written, even here, about the Senate race, and it still is hard to call. I think Rob Simmons is a great patriot and was a fine Congressman. But he made two big mistakes — one was on the unionization bill known as “card check,” and the other was on “climate change.” He supported bills on both, and that is anathema for conservatives, who make up a large cohort at convention. Linda McMahon has wasted no little ink on reminding delegates of these votes, and I think that will propel her to a very close victory. There may yet be a primary, which I advise Simmons against. He simply cannot raise enough money to defeat her in such a race. Better for him to run for his old seat in the House, really. If McMahon gets the nod, her ace team — she has a Murderer’s Row of the sharpest consultants ever assembled here in Connecticut — will attack Blumenthal as a job-killer who has raised electricity rates for the State. Blumie will be flustered, and will falter. She has a 40 percent shot at victory at this juncture, but will be over 50 percent by Nov. 2.

WWE NXT Results: Three Goodbyes
WWE NXT kicked off with the two surprising eliminations of NXT Rookies Michael Tarver and Daniel Bryan. The week before, both NXT Rookies told the WWE Universe that they deserved to be eliminated, and their wishes were granted by WWE Management, regardless of Bryan’s monumental victory the night before on Raw.
After their eliminations, Tarver and Bryan spoke to WWE NXT host Matt Striker. While Tarver thought the ruling was fair, he didn’t think the contest was. Bryan referenced that Daniel Bryan only exists in WWE and vaguely referenced the name Bryan Danielson.
After the main event, the WWE Pros’ Poll results were announced, and one more NXT Rookie was eliminated. While most of the six remaining NXT Rookies hoped David “A-List” Otunga would be eliminated, it was Skip Sheffield who received the lowest ranking from the WWE Pros and was the third hopeful to leave the competition. Full results.

Marvel Movie Re-Casting Call
Over the past decade, Marvel has spit out major motion pictures for nearly all of their most popular titles. We’ve seen most of our favorite characters leap from the page to the screen successfully played by actors who were seemingly born for the roles. But… they weren’t ideal. Some of the casting was ::sigh:: less than par. So I want a good ol’ fashioned “DO-OVER!” I want to turn back the hands of time and re-cast some of the poorly-cast roles in Marvel’s motion picture catalog.
Sabretooth
OK, keep in mind I’ve turned back the hands of time, so I’m at the first X-Men film. Despite the version and performance of Liev Shrieber in Wolverine: Origins, Singer went with a very Comic-Booky Sabretooth for the first installment of the series. I didn’t mind over-the-top comic book Sabretooth. To be honest, I liked that Singer kept the character looking like the Sabretooth of the comics. Only problem was they tapped into the wrestling world and gave the role to Daryl Karolat, aka Tyler Mane, instead of giving it to the wrestler they SHOULD’VE given it to.

Eric Bischoff: "We Never Intended to Compete with WWE"
"First, I don't recall fans en mass telling us not to go to Monday nights. On the contrary, I remember quite a bit of enthusiasm & energy, just because it was a chance to create competition & provide an alternative. There were a lot of fans that spoke out and said it was the wrong decision, but there was a lot of fans that felt the other way. What happened after the move (as we did some research, along with Spike TV), it was determined that while there were fans who enjoyed the competition, there was also a lot of fans that weren't able to check out both. It was a problem for them having to switch back & forth. Unlike the WWE, TNA does not have a lot of other programming, so there's only one TNA vehicle out there, and putting it head-to-head made it difficult for some fans of TNA. As far as WWE being too big to compete with, they're a monster. We never intended to compete with WWE, we intended to position ourselves on Monday night, because that's where the traditional wrestling fan audience is, and we thought that would be a great way to gain exposure for the TNA brand. That's why we went to Monday nights, not to compete."

Rumor Mill - WWE Exec Fired for Sexual Harassment

Irv Muchnick says that his source confirms that WWE has fired Bartie. Bartie was re-hired in 2008 by WWE after previously working for the company as VP of Business & Legal Affairs. Bartie and his wife have a daughter.
