Update on Skip Sheffield's Injury
Skip Sheffield suffered an injury at the 8/18 WWE house show in Hawaii. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now reporting Sheffield suffered a compound fracture in his left ankle and will need surgery. He is expected to have surgery some time next week once the swelling does down. Sheffield is expected to miss anywhere from four to six months of action as a result.

WWE NXT Results: Knowledge is Power
With both of their Rookies eliminated the previous week on WWE NXT, MVP and “Dashing” Cody Rhodes were done talking and ready to get down to business inside of the ring. While Rhodes initially denied Kaval’s challenge, he accepted The Ballin’ Superstar’s request and the second-generation competitor was out to silence his critics and prove that he is on a higher level than both the NXT Rookies and his fellow Pros. The execution of a jarring Cross Rhodes gave The “Dashing” Superstar a convincing victory over MVP and suggested that perhaps Rhodes can actually back up his endless talk. Full results.

Recap of Linda Mcmahon on the Greta Van Strusen Show
Linda was asked what she would do to get jobs created as there is almost nine percent unemployment. She said that being a CEO, she realizes the impact of taxes and regulation on small businesses. She wants to keep money in the pocket of small businesses.
Linda was asked about the New York Times article talking about her being an unusual candidate in that WWE produced a lot of sex and violence. She said WWE is an absolutely wonderful company and changed the industry over the past couple of decades and evolved from the sex and violence content to PG.
Linda talked about the Smackdown Your Vote campaign, being involved in the Make A Wish program, and the Special Olympics.
Linda also talked about how there were WWE fans who were supporting her. She said that a lot of them admire her for building a company from the ground up. Asked how she will overcome the seven points that she trails by in the polls, she said she will keep talking to people. She said the more her opponents focus on WWE, the more she will move up in the polls.

Rumor Mill - Drug Testing at TNA Impact Tapings Today
TNA is running another series of drug testing at the tapings today in Orlando. Prowrestling.net reports that talent were subject to physicals, blood work and drug screening. The screenings were believed to be random.
Rumor Mill - Serena Released By WWE
Serena has been released by WWE, according to multiple reports. Citing sources in WWE, pwtorch.com said that Serena was let go because she was not “living out” The Straight Edge Society gimmick in public. WWE has not yet acknowledged the release on its website.
