WWE Superstars Results: It's A Scream

Since losing to Michelle McCool in the big Unification Match at Night of Champions, Melina seemed to lose a step or two in the ring. But the beautiful Diva finally managed to turn things around by defeating the vicious Alicia Fox in the main event of “WWE Superstars.” A brutal contest to say the least, both Divas attacked each other with ruthless aggression, but Melina’s unmatched fortitude helped her weather the storm of Fox’s destructive offense and execute a modified back slide for the 1-2-3. Politicians Embrace WWE

The following is posted on WWE's corporate website:

President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Senator John McCain, former President George W. Bush, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi have embraced and lauded World Wrestling Entertainment® (WWE) in the past. Therefore, current negative criticisms concerning WWE from some groups would seem to be inconsistent and hypocritical including the recent ad paid for by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

In addition, other prominent Democrats such as former DNC Chairmen Howard Dean and Terry McAuliffe, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Senator John Kerry have utilized WWE as a platform to convey their messages or have supported WWE and its "Smackdown Your Vote!" initiative over the past 10 years.

In 2008, then presidential hopefuls Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain all used WWE to get their messages to the masses...More?

WWE Medical Director Explains Why Somas Were Banned, Also Speaks About Minimizing Head Trauma

WWE's medical director Dr. Joseph Maroon says WWE decided to ban Carisoprodol (somas) due to a realization that "some of the talent" were struggling with addiction issues.

"We've become aware that (it) was becoming a very addictive type of drug,'' Maroon told the Hartford Courant in today's important newspaper report on prescription drug issues in wrestling. "When combined with codeine, it can have the potency of heroin."

Maroon added: "Because some of the talent have used it in the past, we've decided there are other substitute drugs that (are) less addictive that are available," he said.

WWE spokesman Robert Zimmerman said WWE was looking to "close new loopholes" in the company's Wellness Policy, which is why they added muscle relaxants, including Somas, to the list of banned drugs. A positive test for Somas will now lead to applicable punishment for WWE wrestlers.

On the concussion front, Maroon added that WWE is attempting to "minimize head injuries" by requiring padded helmets in training sessions and going to WWE's developmental territory to require wrestlers to practice punching techniques on dummies.
